Start your day off right by eating foods that help promote healthy gut bacteria and that don't spike your insulin levels. Also remember, that if you're on a fasting program, you can skip the breakfast. Breakfast is not the most important meal of the day. And if you're not hungry, my advice to most people is skip the breakfast.
This is the first of a 3 part series on grocery shopping this holiday season.

I had hypoglycemia for years. Decades, actually. Went to the doctor, was sent for tests over and over. No doctor EVER suggested I cut down on sugars and carbohydrates. Simply unbelievable. Once I cut down my sugars, my hypoglycemia disappeared just like that. What are they teaching doctors in all the years of their medical school???

So unbelievable - right? And yet, we are supposed to revere these people! I have a young relative who became a doctor and this person let themselves get really sick from an ear infection. I mean really sick to the point where this person couldn’t care for their own children. I asked why they didn’t just give themselves an antibiotic? They said they needed another doctor to look in their ear because they couldn’t look into their own ear. Seriously?

We need more naturopaths. Regular doctors just push drugs. I have internal vibrations. The neurologist gave a prescription for a drug that has horrible side effects. Never took them. I finally noticed that consuming sugar and carbs made my nerves worse. The past 2 weeks, I stopped using sugar and cutting back on carbs. My nerves have since subsided tremendously. It's hard though, not able to have a sweet treat. Can't drink alcohol as well, but I can't take the nervousness that eats away inside of me, so refraining as much as possible to rid this demon inside of me.

My mother virtually eliminated sugar from my diet when I was about 13. I used to beg her to get sugar for my cereals's. To which she replied, "there's plenty of sugar in cereals already." How right she was and still is. There's no mother more important, than a knowledgeable one that imparts that information when necessary.

@aafgahfah
@aafgahfah Год назад
@@cincin4515 Well that’s a good point. I didn’t mean 100 completely different breakfast recipes as such. Whenever I see people talk about healthy breakfast, I see them say “yes eggs, but not too many”, same with avocados and various other foods. I like a bit of variety; not so much for its own sake but because there are different nutrients out there. for example, eggs are high in protein but low in fibre. When I look at instagram accounts showing healthy meals they look amazing but I often think “Nice, but every day?” tbh I’m just skipping breakfast now, but it just defers the question of what I am actually going to eat, and it does always come back to eggs! What bugs me about recipe books is that the recipes are always freestanding; they don’t take into account the reality of food shopping. An ideal cookbook for me would take me through like a week or a month or more, reusing leftovers and mixing them with freshly cooked food etc. I would have thought that in the age of apps and automated shopping, that would work very well, but we still throw away mountains of food in my family.

I love the way Dr. Jamnadas explains nutritional information and the impact on the body. I knew most of this information already, but I will likely skip my habit of eating Shredded Wheat, Grape Nuts or Bran Cereal topped with ground flax/chia seeds, fruit (usually berries or a banana) and a non-dairy milk. Switching over to a Greek yogurt with the berries, flax/chia and nuts (walnuts mainly) to see if I can protect against an insulin spike. Though I don't get hypoglycemic with these cereals, I notice a lack of satiety. Tim Spector of Zoe and my sister (a former practicing neurologist) also recommended yogurt without sugar. It was funny because the doc said "...Nobody eats 20 or 30 grapes.." (I do, and did so the other night). I'm currently an ovo-pescatarian, eating fish several times a week and eggs when I go out for breakfast. But I really need to cut back on the simple carbs and eat more green, leafy vegetables. Also, cut down on the high glycemic pasta and white potatoes to a degree. Besides eating salad on a regular basis, and going to eat more soups/stews/chilis along with my tofu stir frys. Thanks doc! Still having an impact after a year! After Zoe & Nutrition Made Simple, I'm gonna check out your podcast.
