The 2nd one (Whitestone) is a true measure of one’s skill and patience. It should be used as a test on students who wants to get into dentistry and surgery. If they fail to complete an installation rated anywhere between good to perfect then these students should be advised to select another, more theoretical based, profession.
Fantastic in depth review, extremely informative an useful. I usually go with the ESR Armorite, and apart from the strength, the protector is bordered in black which really helps it blend in a become invisible. I’ve ordered one of the Benks protectors this year, not their most expensive one but they seem quality as do their cases. Thanks for the considerable effort in putting this video together.
I'm sorry for the poor resolution before everyone, it is in 1080p now, 4K is still processing 🤦♂ And if its still not a clear picture ,you just have to manually change it to 1080p.
I have an iPhone 15 and use Spigen easyfit screen protectors and they just about cover the screen, but if tilting the phone, you see the rainbow effect in all directions. I never had this issue with my previous iPhone 14, with the same brand and model screen protectors. I actually bought some more Spigen iPhone 14 protectors to see what would happen and their coverage was much better, but the edges didn't stick down, which leads me to believe that the iPhone 15 series has slight curves at the edges of the display, which is why manufacturers are making the screen protectors for the 15 series smaller. The last time I remember having this issue was probably my iPhone 8 Plus. The screen protectors with the black borders seem to disguise the area the screen protectors don't properly stick down to, and more screen protectors than not seem to have these borders for the 15 series compared to the 14 series, which again confirms that there is a slight curvature on the edges of the iPhone 15 series displays, all the way around.
You missed the 2 best screen protectors on the market, the torras and flolab. Would love to see you test compare the two. Also make sure to test whether the black borders on the screen protector obstruct the screen. The armorite as well as many other this year seem to have this issue
You failed to mention that the Zagg XTR3 does not completely cover the display portion of the screen, resulting in a rainbow light bleed around all four edges when a white background is on display. I'm returning mine to Zagg because it's so annoying/distracting to look at.
Thanks I really appreciate this information! I was really struggling to decide on which screen protector to get for my new 15 pro max, and this helped a lot. But, that 2nd one was an entire science project, I could never….lol.
Your videos are lacking some very crucial information. Based on this video I bought the ESR Armorite set, but the glass itself was way too heavy with 22g and worst of all the black edges slightly covered the content on the screen, it's just too small for the 15 Pro Max. If protection is all you care about fair choice, but for regular users it's probably one of the worst ones you can buy. You absolutely need to include a visibility test of the screen edges (can best be done in the Apple camera app because you'd see the L-shaped markers on the outside disappear with sth like the Armorite glass) and the weight is also essential because what really matters is protection in relation to weight. Good protection with lowest weight wins in my book since I have a case that does fully cover the housing with a decent front lip all around.
Hello, thank you for the video, really helpfull. Do you think it makes sense to put a back glass film protector, because of the dust that can go inside the case and blamish the glass or even for someone who doesn't wear case. If so, can you recommend any brand? Thanks
I bought the ESR because I had ESR for my iphone 12 pro max for 3 years and worked well. On the 15 Pro Max it does NOT work well with my case, the Poetic Guardian. For 12 pro max i had both Poetic Spartan and Poetic Revolution and never and issue. The thing i don't know if any screen protector is going to work well with the Poetic Guardian. so my choice is either try a bunch of different protectors to see what works with the poetic case, or buy another case (hopefully one that works with the ESR). Tough call because the Poetic case gives a lot of protection. Hopefully this helps anyone who thinks the ESR and poetic guardian would work together (and by not work together I mean it lifts the screen protector no matter how much i try to get it back down)
It's my first time to watch your video. You did a great and fair reviews on testing those screen protectors. Btw, ESR Armorite had a 8 feet drop and it's also your favorite, but why was the Drop Protection was rated at 3/5 instead of 5/5? Anyway, I think it's just a little ranking error and I still enjoyed your video. Thank you very much!
It should absolutely be a 5/5, I made a mistake in editing. I've posted a comment to let everyone know. Thank you for the heads up :) and your support!
I noticed both the ESR and ultraglass which I use now both covers some pixels. I wonder if you check that? Especially with the 15 pro the bezels became thinner and it is seems more difficult for these protectors to not cover pixels.
Great video! I would love if you could try the Ibywind tempered glass protector, I have been using it for my Xiaomi for 2 years and I would enjoy seeing you review the Iphone 15 pro max version of it, because I want to upgrade to this phone. Thank you for this useful video!
I'm watching this video because the JETech set I bought mysteriously had dust under the protector, my first 2 attempts, despite being extremely careful with installation. I haven't had that issue with other brands and phone models before. The one you tested had dust underneath, and well, you're highly experienced with installing protectors, so I think they're coming from the factory with dust already under there. Edit to add: I also broke the protector right away. I can see from your drop test why.
Hello. I have tried screen protectors from at least 4-5 different brands. But the edges never stuck. When I tried the same brands for another 15 Pro max, they all stuck perfectly. Could the 15 pro max I have have a problem? I requested a change. Don't you think it's strange that all such different brands have the same problem?
Very thorough testing! I had already ordered the ESR Armorite and this video made me feel more confident about the purchase. Looking forward to your case review
Great content. I noticed you didn't do a drop test on the Whitestone dome glass screen protector and the sponsored ringke. Did they tell you not to do a drop test?
I never do drop tests on the liquid adhesive screen protectors. I don’t know what the adhesive will do to the stone I use for the drop test if I were to try to cure it.
Great video Thanks! I have the iPhone 15 and I am having issues with the screen going extremly dark when I am outside. I have gone into my settings in the Display & Text Size and turned off Auto-Brightness. Today was an overcast day so not direct sun and I could barely see my screen. In the shade I would be able to see it better. Is this a known issue wit these phones? My 11 Pro never did this like this screen does. And…. Do any of the screen protectors have some kind of UV protection that would help with this??? Any suggestions?
I bought the first screen protector you reviewed, it seems pretty good to be honest, especially considering the price. The only downside I can find is that I would have preferred a slightly wider coverage, because the protector covers barely the edges of the screen.
Thank you for this VERY in-depth analysis. I see and have tried a few of new iPhone 15pro cases. Another issue with the cases that do not have edge to edge coverage is that they produce the "rainbow shimmer", which I unfortunately have encountered. This is the phenomenon where the glass of a high end/thick glass may not cover the entire screen/viewport and shows the reflected light dispersed in all edges. It's super distracting and I can't imagine sticking with it. I'm sure you're aware of this. Install after install I could not get rid of this. Shields like the Armorite with the black bevel probably keep this from happening just because it's black which is a happy accident or just super smart. This also covers any dispersed light at the edges. I just saw these types of styles today and am looking forward to getting one now. I appreciate your time. Have a great day.
The black edges are that way to avoid that rainbow thing, really smart indeed. Does the black part cover the screen? I've read that some of these kind of protectors do so and it's really annoying and I was wondering if this one in particular respects the whole screen.
@@JoanGamer99 I bought the ESR Armorite Screen Protector w/lens covers but haven't installed it yet. ☹ I wonder if Amazon is selling these cheap for Black November?
Purchased the Glass One Touch on Amazon. Very clean and simple instalation though an extra can of air might have been useful to blow off the one little air that stuck along the edge. Not their fault, just don't do the install at your dirty old desk...the install tray fits well over the iPhone, and the squeegee tool works great. Especially liked the included back camera cover. This makes the cameras feel solid when you have the iPhone in a Spigen Liquid Air case...everything feels solid and protected now...only time will tell how well it protects, but I keep my iPhone in a leather belt pouch anyway (yah it's geeky) so thanks for the video review and tests...
Do you have a chart online somewhere in a blog that would show these side-by-side? I have trouble remembering which ones were best and which ones were worst. I appreciate all the time you have put into this video. You are so awesome for that! I definitely want one that is case compatible and is sensitive to touch.and of course I want to protect my phone lol😊
Wow amazing stuff! Just bought an ESR Armorite screen protector from this thanks! Would love to see Flolab’s screen protectors and privacy screen protectors in testing in the future. I do like using privacy screen protectors so it’s really nice to see some in this list. Maybe some testing with clarity and viewing angles with the privacies would be good as well to compare them.
Do you think that moving the screen a bit before each drop would be fairer to these screen protectors? I think always hitting the same spot compounds the impact.
The ESR has a black rim that doesn’t align with the bezel and covers the edge of the screen. I have to tilt my phone to see the edge.. why would they do that lol
I always go to your channel for reviews. Have u tested Benks Glasswarrior Sapphire coating? Im deciding on the ESR Armorite, but want to know about the Benks Glasswarrior. Thank you for your time
im very surprise at the length and effort it took to make this video… and out of the 25+ screens you didnt review a screen i find the best and yet most expensive.. the SAPPHIREMAN…. That one i standby since i came across it for my iPhones. But yeah.. i find it surprising that that wasnt in the line up.
@HighTechCheck - This has to be one of the most thorough reviews out there! Truly amazing and really appreciate the work that's been put in. You got a new subscriber!
do you think it’s better to go for esr armour or the hybrid one with their screen protectors separately ? the plastic front in the first one to be honest doesn’t look that trustworthy to me mmm
problem with screen protectors you get a horrible white border that’s a different white you can see from angles looks shit and the black edge ones make the skinny bezels look bigger because the there too big or the protector it’s self is to small i’ve tried 20 now all crap
Torras Stealth Privacy screen protector is actually great for a variety of reasons. Screen protectors where the glass covers the dynamic island with a cut out in the privacy film, such as spigens, do not have a film on the underside that covers the dynamic island. This means that dust gets under that shit. Torras doesn't have this issue as it's stuck directly to a thicker plastic card preventing dust from getting under. Another issue is most screen protectors have excess adhesive that go all the way around the edge which collects dust and other debris from the pocket. Torras also doesn't have this issue. I haven't had a single piece of dust stuck to the side of my protector! Protectors with black borders are often improperly aligned and causes the pixels to be out of place. Torras does have black bars, but the tray is extremely precise and I don't have a single pixel covered up. Other privacy glass protectors have some weird chromatic distortion, torras also doesn't have this issue. other protectors have sharp edges on the glass, torras has a nice curved edge. No I'm not a spokesperson for Torras, I just really love these protectors after trying 9 different brands and finding they all suck. There is one con though, because the privacy film does appear to cover the dynamic island (Not the camera, but glass does cover it), FaceID tends to not work at weird angles, which isn't a downside since half the time you're looking directly at the phone when unlocking anyways.
Can you let me know which iphone 15 pro max glass protector has the best coverage? I do not intend to use a case just need a glass protector that covers the whole front glass. I notice a lot of brands out there have iphone 14 pro max dimensions and the bezels size and dimensions are different so I prefer a glass protector made ideally for iphone 15 pro max. any suggestions?
I went case less & protector less on my 14PM the back and screen were fine but the band has dents in it on all sides lol. The dent has made a small crack appear on the screen appear at the bottom left.
What’s missing in this review is the edge feel If they are sharp when swiping from the bottom edge. I just got the Belkin from Apple Store and from the bottom sometimes I feel it sharp on my finger when swiping up 😢 Anyone has some suggestions for another one maybe with rounded edges?
22:11 Did did you just say you'd move on to number 2 then skipped it in the same sentence to do 3 then continue on to tell me that 2 did not effect it after not scratching it with 2.... ?????
Does the ESR Armorite's black bezel happen to cover any of the pixels on the screen? I noticed Spigen's edge-to-edge screen protector for the 15 Pro has a similar black bezel and that one covers some of the pixels which was annoying to find out after installing it.
@@ZizoGFX Thanks for the reply, that's disappointing to hear. I've also tried Spigen's non-edge-to-edge and those came unaligned in their alignment tools and had a rainbowing effect on the edges of the glass. Maybe I'll wait for dbrand or try amFilm's
@@RennsportFilmsI was going to order the dbrand one but after watching their installation video i noticed the screen protector only covers the screen part which is quite dissapointing tbh! Thats for the 15 pro series only. I’ve ordered flolab’s new 3D one hopefully it will fit better with no issues on the edges otherwise i really don’t know what my other options are.
