I appreciate this video. I really enjoyed you showing around the trendy areas! However, I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, now living in the Houston Medical Center for 3 years. Sorry to say but the energy in Midtown and Downtown does not compare to NY city vibes. It's very desolate, lots of homeless people, and if you dont know where things are you will not find it, especially Downtown area. In NY there are people all around, all the time, which can be annoying at times. But you can walk anywhere and find something to do, even in the street. Parks are always packed, even now during Covid. The only time you will be on a street by yourself is if your walking in a residential area or really late at night. You don't have to worry about driving everywhere. You can walk or take public transportation and get anywhere in the city and not worry about parking. NYers know to never drive to the city because parking is terrible and expensive. The energy in NY is very very noisy, yet vibrant!!! Sirens, helicopters, music, people, lights and big billboards. When I first started working Downtown I couldn't believe there were not many people around and that was Pre- Covid. A bit shocking to me for it to be considered the city. Midtown is better than Downtown in my opinion as far as night life. So no I wouldn't compare these areas to the "energy" of NY. As far as things to do, absolutely many places to go to in Houston which I love, but you have to know where to go. I just wanted to share a little perspective coming from a native NYer. Hope you dont take this the wrong way.

I appreciate your perspective and don't disagree w/you, but I would have to insist Midtown does give ME 😀 that NYC vibe (In several different ways and some in the not so obvious way if I may add) since I've been there multiple times, I have friends who live there that I visit and lifelong friends who now live here in H-town who are originally from NYC (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens & Harlem). I can't wait until the Alley-Kat reopens though! Have you been there? How do you like it?

@@HoustonTexasLiving yes I've been to Alley Cat once on a Tuesday after work and really enjoyed it! The chef and bartender were on point. Looking forward to going on a more popular night. I agree Midtown has a really cool vibe! Very chill and hip at the same time. Reminds me of The Village or Lower Eastside where there's a mixture of bars, restaurants, lounges and residential buildings, yet not too many people in your way.🥴😁 Thanks for your response. Hello i was born and raised in houston By the time im 25 i hope i can move somewhere nicer in houston. Im currently 20 and i live in houston specifically harris county. My dream is to live in tomball. I am a college student at Houston Community College im currently pursuing my associates degree in cybersecurity.

I've never been to this part of Houston before. I'm in awe of the NYC vibe to Midtown. Midtown looks very urban but very homey at the same time, just like the city of Houston. I could see myself relocating here one day.

I'm thinking about moving into one of these apartments next year for school. I've never tried public transportation in Houston. Would you say its safe for a teenage girl to take the metro alone from Midtown to UH?

I think it's relative to the teenage girl's personal life experiences and preparedness, but I will tell you that I as a teenaged boy in highschool took the metro all of the City of Houston for years. But I grew up in Southpark, so I was prepared for alot I guess you could say.

Yes. Keep in mind, Texas was the 1st state in the country to be away with the "Lockdown" mandate during Covid. Therefore, scores of Restaurants all over Houston have reopened since then and even more new ones have opened their doors as well.

Hello Kyee! Thanks for the comment. Missouri City is a great city, but Houston's way too large for a large majority of middle class anything to congregate in 1 or 2 areas. Trust me. We're all over the City of Houston! I recommend you taking a nice trip here and seeing all Houston has to offer! Videos of ALL of the Suburban areas of Houston are constantly in the works though. Covid-19 ran rapid in my home (Alpha variant) on Christmas Day 2020. My mother-in-law (77 years young now) lives with us and she nearly died from Covid as a result and developed double pneumonia. She stayed in the hospital for 32 days and when she got out, I was her care provider for nearly 3 months. Much more happened w/this story, but in a nutshell, life got in the way of things! However, the channel has been marketed behind the scenes very well and business is booming as a result! However, once the "Behind the scenes" is all done, I anticipate a "Come back" by the end of this Summer... I see I have a lot more Realtor RU-vid competition here in Houston since I last shot a video back in Dec. 2020 as well lol... Oh well, as the old saying goes, "In business, wherever there is Success, there lies competition." Thanks for the love! I'll be back very soon!
