Little Abby Louise has totally adopted little Ralphie D since moving to Misfitland Monkey Rescue on January 11, 2023.. Needless to say Ralphie D absolutely enjoys every second of her grooming him and creating a bond better than anything he ever imagined when she first showed up stealing all his time and attention making him so jealous a year ago!! When Abby Louise showed up she was 21 years old and had been moved around many times in a short period of time.. While Abby’s overall demeanor did not give any indication of abuse she did have fear of what she could and could not do.. As anyone would moving in to a different home with different species she was nervous and unsure of the new life.. She has REALLY moved in over the last year and I can SEE the difference!! I really believe that they lady who fought to get her back coming to visit and hearing her on the phone has helped her to adjust!! I noticed a difference after her first visit.. I think it somehow helped her to trust the new living situation and helped relax her mind in some way.. I make sure I let her know over and over that we are her family troop forever and she will never have to move again!! That’s what Misfitland Monkey Rescue is about!! We RESCUE!! When I was a kid we had foster children and it RIPPED OUR “the kids” HEARTS OUT when they just TOOK them away.. When a monkey comes to Misfitland they can “MOVE IN”.. I don’t mean just Physically move in which anyone can force you to do but I mean PHYSICALLY MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY move in for the last time of their lives!! I want them to be COMFORTABLE and SECURE!! I want them to have confidence and to know they are LOVED beyond words by the troop around them!!
