They're also honestly just not super consistent with the titan scaling; they're drawn to kind of convey the appropriate mood for the scene. Armin in that scene is easily over 100m, even taking everything into account.

truly a DEVASTATING final season

Well one group is fighting to wipe out a race and the other side is fighting for survival. War crimes were committed in episode one, so this isn't much different except that the people of Liberio aren't being hunted and eaten alive in front of their loved ones.

While both sides technically fight for survival (remember the reason Marley’s soldiers fight is because they are scared of the rumbling killing them), much of this conflict is motivated by selfishness. Reiner’s choice to break down the wall is motivated primarily by his selfish dream to be a hero, and a large reason Eren fights is for his selfish dream of freedom (the reason Eren says he is the same as Reiner following his confession). And even if someone fought for a justified cause, nothing justifies the murder of innocent children. One side committing war crimes doesn’t permit the other side to, as more often than not this only prolongs the cycle of violence by perpetuating hate on both sides (Think Floch and Gabi -> both get radicalized to the point of extreme blind hate for another group of people they don’t even know outside of conflict, only caused by being on the receiving end of violence, violence that they themselves would repeat). While we all pretty much side with Paradis, just because you may think they have the right to do these crimes, doesn’t mean they are actually beneficial in the long run.

@@sm_cheesy3144agreed. If we keep justifying war crimes because of our own sufferings, then the cycle of violence will never end. Someone will always want revenge. We must break away from that cycle. And violence isn’t the solution.

@@daniaaal Exactly. You explained this so well in much fewer words than me :). This message is why the story of Attack on Titan speaks to me so much. For humans to unite and reduce conflict, we must escape the forest of ignorance and hate and see past our differences. As painful as it might be, someone has to take the burden of forgiving those they hate, or the cycle of violence will never end.

If you're talking about the general population, they are given the Marley truth since they were kids. For them Eldians are dangerous devil race, not 'normal' people like them. Paradis attacking Marley just confirms all of the fears and prejudices they've been taught.

@LimitlessSn1perThose Eldians responsible for that are long dead, and so are their victims. That's ancient history. They committed serious crimes and were killed for it. It was over when the king went into exile. But the invasion started 9 years ago is still the present because the people fighting now were all alive then, living normal lives, before they were dragged into this war for survival. If the island stops fighting, they die. If Marley stops fighting, there is a chance for peace. But Marley won't stop. They haven't stopped for decades.
