Our little one has been using Ten Little shoes for a while and honestly, we highly recommend them. These are the ones we have: ✅ First Walkers Baby Shoes: shrsl.com/4574a ✅ Everyday Sandals: shrsl.com/45782
Ever since I was a child, I have always hated Nikes, and a couple of years ago I figured out why: Modern day shoes are not shaped like a foot; instead they squish your toes together, and Nike is one of the worst brands with this. I don't have particularily wide feet, but I have always hated having my toes squished, so I used to compensate by choosing shoes from the widest brands and sizing up by 2 (EU) sizes. About 2 years ago, I found out about barefoot style shoes, and while some of the benefits people claim seem like woo, the comfort of having a shoe of the correct size shaped like an actual foot is so great I just can't wear regular shoes again. I have found Altra shoes to also be a great alternative for those who want/need padded shoes, but need a wide toe- box. Seing people put narrow shoes on their babies just makes me cringe. People unfortunately just don't know any better, but I am glad someone is out there making good informative content! Getting a baby is not on the horizon for me, but when I do, I'll make sure they get foot shaped shoes!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, we recently came across Vivobarefoot and the quality of the shoes is amazing. Unfortunately they don't make shoes for infants/young toddlers but are great for 2 year old kids. We hope to help people look beyond looks and styles and focus more on the development of their kids. We appreciate your thoughts!
Love it! Our girl has almost grown out of her shoes so we are certainly in need of new ones, good timing! Question, when she does put them on the wrong feet how do you correct her? I know it's all about establishing independence, so you just let her go on? I don't want to minimize her accomplishment buttttt I'm not sure how to handle it. Thank you!
Thank you! I'm glad the timing was just right. And yes that is a good question. Initially we just let it be so we don't burst her bubble. These shoes we recommend have a wide toe box and we don't think they made her feet uncomfortable. But as she got more practice, we simply asked her: "can I show you how to put on your shoes the right way?" Or something along those lines, and explain why the right shoe goes on the right foot and the left shoe on the left foot. This is going to take time so just enjoy the moment! 😊
Our little one has been using Ten Little shoes for a while and honestly, we highly recommend them. We just love how independent our little one is becoming simply by providing the right shoes, environment, space, and most importantly freedom to explore and experiment!
