you prolly dont care but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my brother for the last months =)
The lighting here looks great, easy on the eyes and flattering to the subject. Can you tell us what you're using in the shot? I'd watch a whole video about that! :)
Hi! Thank you for this video, it's great. At minute 04:05 you are screwing the peg on to the stand. I was wondering 1) what do you call that additional piece to which the clamp is attached to, and allows you to attach the clamp to the stand? 2) where cn one purchase both of those parts, the clamp and the part that allows you to attach it to the stand? Thank you very much.
This was really helpful and informative. I'm in the market for a backdrop stand for my own photography use, so this video was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
I realised after about 2 months of using an 8kg heavy duty stand from Hypop that it was a pain in the butt having to change muslin backdrops or even using clips to drape 3 over the stand and just removing layers during a model shoot. Most of the backdrops I buy are 3m x 5m so you have to double them up, and on top of that when you pull them off, they get so wrinkled, and you have to constantly steam the wrinkles out. As a result of this, I just ordered a motorized Nanlite 4 holder backdrop that can be wall mounted or put on two heavy duty light stands. Hopefully that will be the best solution and the rolling does not super crease them, but at least I don't have to put them on and off either way.
We agree that a motorised wall or ceiling mounted backdrop system is the most convenient overall if you're after a permanent backdrop solution in a studio environment. Backdrop stands are still quite useful for single backdrop setups and good for portability if mounting to a wall is not an option.
Yes, definitely. Paper rolls have an inner core which you can feed crossbars through. Just ensure the stand has the correct payload to support the roll.
This is the Spectrum Full Paper backdrop in the colour "Fresh Lavender Purple". You can find this on our website at hypop.com.au/ :) This backdrop comes in a full and half roll.
HyPop, a quick question, Will placing the paper backdrop (9.2 lbs) on a Standard Duty Backdrop Stand (11.9 lbs), sag them and cause damage / crease on the paper backdrop???
Yes, in most cases if you leave the backdrop roll up for an extended period it will sag. Best practice is to pack away the backdrop and stand upright when not in use.
There are a total of 4 cross bars that are approx. 75cm each. You can use a minimum of 2, 3 or the full 4 cross bars for a minimum width of 150cm then 225cm and 300cm respectively.
I was hoping that you actually demonstrated the ease of putting the stands together in regular speed. Because I really really need and desire extremely easy. Almost like inflatable easy lol!
The backdrop stands have a screw thread that doesn't support standard lighting / audio brackets and mounts. You'll need separate stands for lighting and audio.
