Have had an 80watt CO2 laser for about a year. Really stepped up my game as a woodworker since I can make my own templates with it. And then i started adding etching and using it for inlay work. Love it.
After engraving cement, wood, or other materials, don't move your project. Add powder used for powder coating and use the laser to sinter the powder coating inside the engraving. This is an awesome way to add multiple colors to your project. Then when you are done sintering, pick up your project and brush off the extra powder. Great to see it has air assist. Air assist more importantly helps keep your lens clear of soot. Also, it's great to see you use and mention eye protection.
I purchased a Mecpow X5 after watching this video. Watching all your videos and the cool things your making with them I finally decided to buy one. The promo code helped the price also. Thank you for that. I'll have to engrave a vault boy like the one you did for my son. He's a huge Fall Out fan.
Super glad you put this video out. I’ve been looking at laser cutters for my leatherwork. I’d love to know your thoughts on how this machine would cut and engrave leather.
Thanks for making me regret getting the xtool M1🤣.... I'll just make this one the next laser on my list. I do need something that is way faster than what I have.
Thanks Mike. Always appreciate your videos. Only request is make a little slower to show step by step or at least the important ones. I feel sometimes it is missed. And finally, maybe a "can it etched?" Series of videos.
Do you know of a reason why my x5 won't cut through 5mm plywood? I even lowered the Z to less than the arm set was. Yes, I lifted it back up before playing. My settings are 400mm at 100%. 3 passes don't make it through 5mm plywood.
