Need to include the cost of dirt and concrete work. Ot can add up to a third to the cost. I would have already built one if not for the cost of concrete work. I have already paid off the land it is going on.
Unfortunately most Counties make it too difficult to build a barndo bc they require heavy duty steel beam construction. As they told me, "it would be cheaper & easier to build stick built than a Barndo."
I’m sure this is true in some counties. I’m in Texas and this is fairly common. I really don’t see the problem if it’s wind rated, and electrical and plumbing and septic is approved. A soil test will be needed for foundation. What do they care if you live in it or use it for storage?
