🚲I may have found the Ultimate E-Bike Rack: Hollywood Rack's Destination E-Bike Rack! The best reason is for the 70 per bike weight capacity. For more detailed information on the Destination E, check its webpage: hollywoodracks.com/EVOLUTIONA...
People will ask for the link first. Here it is: linktw.in/MYuSzz
If you've been searching for a bike rack that effortlessly supports heavy e-bikes, your search ends here! My latest video dives deep into the impressive Hollywood Destination Rack, boasting a weight capacity of 70 lbs per bike. Perfect for heavier models, this rack ensures your e-bikes are transported safely and securely.
🔍 Watch as I showcase how to easily load and unload two substantial e-bikes, with weights of 61 lbs and 65 lbs respectively, without their batteries. I'll guide you through each step, from using the ramp and adjusting safety straps to securing the bikes with clamps.
🛠️ Highlights include the rack's robust, double-walled ramp, which prevents sagging under heavy loads, and a unique middle channel that aids in smoother bike guidance, unlike many other racks on the market. I'll also demonstrate the tilt feature, which makes accessing your vehicle's trunk a breeze, even when the bikes are loaded.
🔧 Additionally, I'll explore the rack's stability mechanisms such as the anti-wobble system integrated into the hitch receiver and the locking mechanisms that ensure everything stays in place during transport.
🚀 Want a sneak peek at how this rack performs on the road? We've got you covered with drone footage that illustrates the rack’s minimal sway and exceptional stability.
Whether you're a cycling enthusiast or a weekend adventurer, this video will provide you with all the information you need to choose the right e-bike rack for your needs. Don’t miss out on expert insights that could enhance your bike transportation experience!

This is Hollywood Rack's NEW Destination E Bike Rack.

I want to point out that there are two different kinds of Hollywood Rack Destination racks. There's the regular Destination rack, both in 2 and 4 bike versions that are not designed for E-Bikes (they only handle 35 pounds per tray). They also have the Destination E, which is what you reviewed.

Excellent point, Barry. I changed the thumbnail and the title to make that more clear. Thank you very much! -Tom

HELP! I’ve watched both your videos on the the Hollywood Destination E and the Thule Easyfold XT. I seriously cannot make up my mind! Both seem like great racks. The Thule seems a little quicker for loading/unloading bikes and the ease of taking the rack off and storing either in my car or the garage. The Destination E I feel like has a few extra straps and steps to remove and I could see myself being in a hurry and just leaving the rack on my car between uses. On the Thule, the pin attachment not going all the way through the hitch concerns me but I haven’t read any negative comments about that. The ramp storage in the rack is a cool idea but then I think about it, and obviously I will always have a vehicle to store the ramp in if I went with the Destination E which has a sturdier ramp. The Destination E clamps are a little easier to move around as you just push in and maneuver to desired location, whereas the Thule clamps you unscrew and remove the small clamp from the bar to move around, which of course is only a few seconds different. The Destination comes with the safety strap, but after reading reviews, I would put a safety strap and my 6ft cable lock around the bikes and rack no matter which I choose for safety anyway. Do you have anything that would really sway you one way or another since you have experience with both racks? Your videos are so informative and I would really appreciate your insight before I pull the trigger and make the purchase. Thanks!

Great questions, Jessica. Let me try and compare them here and I'll tell you my outcome. First, neither rack comes with lights. Two E-Bikes on the rack and you're blocking the effectiveness of the taillights, turn signals, and brake lights. That's a big issue with me. I have a workaround video for that on the Thule. It works but they aren't very bright in the daytime. Hollywood Racks (HR) has a light accessory bar for their racks. It fits on a number of their racks including the Destination E. It is super bright and solves the entire issue, BUT it is more money to spend. I just got one and have tested it on the ground in the daytime. It's great. I'll have a video coming out on that soon. So with safety, HR wins for me. The huge advantage the XT has is how if folds and stores. It's a pretty small footprint and it sits on a shelf in my garage. I could never do that with the Destination E. So when it comes to storage, the XT wins. When it comes to how solid the rack is during transport fully loaded, the Destination E is the winner. It is a solid rack and you can feel it when it's loaded up. The Thule rack intially left me hoping the engineers knew what they were doing because it is very minimal. The wheelbase of my bikes use up all of the real estate on the rack and I have to buy the optional larger straps for my fat tire E-Bike. Also, my bikes touch each other on the Thule rack when loaded. So I put a towel inbetween the touch points, one in the front and one in the back. The Destination E leaves plenty of clearance between the bikes for us. The ramp is much more solid on the HR than the Thule. The Thule ramp storage is nice but the stock ramp that fits there is shorter and increases the angle of approach for the bikes when loading. I have the longer Thule ramp (another purchase option) and use it then just put it in the back of the SUV. It still flexes under the weight of the bike. The HR ramp doesn't flex at all and the approach angle for loading is very comfortable. I have a lot of experience with the XT and I'm just getting experience with the Destination E but if I had to buy only one today, it would be the Destination E. In fact, I'm probably going to sell my XT locally. That's how nice I think the Destination E is. I hope my ranting helps you make your decision as clear as mud. LOL -Tom

@@jessicaluepkes3086 You're welcome. There's so much to choose from out there. The best features to look for on a bike for me would be a torque sensor instead of a cadence sensor (some have both), hydraulic disc brakes, and sizing the bike properly for your height and inseam. Most companies have charts on that for their bikes. Many frames come in multiple sizes. After that, budget and additional features. Good luck. You guys will have a blast and it will open up so many things for you. -Tom

We just took our new bikes (hubby got an Aventon Level.2 and I got a Velotric Discover 2) on the Hollywood Destination E rack and everything was PERFECT! I have a GMC Acadia and the rack fit great, bikes had ample room between them. So easy to load and unload. No wobble. We used with and without the ramp just to try and both ways were easy. Thanks once again for your review and advice!

Thanks for the video! Which rack would you say is the best for heavy e-bikes? In particular I’m deciding between this and Thule epos. Thanks again

I just took a quick look at the epos. The built in lights are a big plus. That capacity seems to be sufficient as well. But for $300 more, it's a toss up. I think you can add the optional light bar to the Hollywood Rack and be well under the price of the ethos. Looks like the ethos folds up a little smaller though. Best Rack? Depends on your budget and storage needs I'd say. I'd love to look at the epos in person though. The Hollywood Rack is very solid though. I don't have any concerns on if the bikes will be there when I arrive. -Tom
