I almost forget. I also read this amazing brasillian book caled The Pedriatician, which is like a medical version of The Piano Teacher by Elfried Jelinek.

I read less books that I used to (new phase in life and jobs etc, I am a Doctor [not the who]). But my fav was Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh and the INCREDIBLE "What are you going thorugh" by Sigrid Nunez. These two titles killed me. I start a lot of books this year, but finished a few ones. I wish to meet more people like you to talk about books. Your channel gives a calm and relaxing time far from this madding crowd. Thank you.

LeGuin - Rocannon's World Stephen King - The Life of Chuck (novella from "If it bleeds") Emily St. John Mandel - Station Eleven Jean-Paul Didierlaurent - The Reader on the 6. 27 N. K. Jemisin - The Fifth Season

Not heard of all those books, but glad you enjoyed Radcliff's The Italian; it's my favourite of hers that I've read.

I read The Lies of Locke Lamora and Brighton Rock after watching you talking about them in the past. I love them both. I should revisit The Divine Comedy. I read it for school years ago. I also enjoyed The Age of Innocence (watched Scorsese's adaptation afterward) and A Handful of Dust. I'm finishing rereading How Green Was My Valley. It's taking me a while to get through it because I remember how heartbreaking it was when I first read it and scared to continue sometimes. I wish more of Richard Llewellyn's books are still in print, really would like to read more of them.

Glad you enjoyed those books, they are both great. Age of Innocence has been on my reading list for a long time. Maybe I'll read it in the new year, but who knows, there are just so many books to get through! :P

The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. My biggest read this year, it was good but quite a undertaking!😀 Impressive list, strangely enough Clarissa is one I have never heard of. I am weak on Jane Austen, The Divine Comedy started several times but not finished. („Bit of rough“ so British😅)

I've only read Mann's "Death in Venice" and short stories, but I'll take a look at that one. I think because "Clarissa" is such a tome, even more than "War and Peace" it isn't as well known. I didn't know of it myself until very recently, but it's worth it!

@@JoshuaJClarkeKelsall war and peace, that took me 6 months to read! The Magic Mountain maybe three, but in the long run those tomes are worth it. Death in Venice and Buddenbrooks are on my list. Read a couple others of his I liked.
