Would never choose bow or GS when it comes to 1v1 or any game mode. The only reason I’d even consider choosing axe over GS is for the damage. GS has a low player count because it’s still a newer weapon like boots and like you said isn’t easy to master. The weapon isn’t even good but it is broken and that’s the issue. You can mash GS to your hearts content and not even leave a window open to be punished. And it might be easy to get around seeing that most Gs strings start from the same move but for hit once and you’ve been hit 30 times right after. The weapon needs a rework or they need to slow down it down.

@@ItzHoppie you can’t really mashed gs like you can with other weapons. It’s a catch 22 type of situation with the weapon. Yes if you know what your doing and you can react on time to your opponents dodge then yes you can leave no window for them to punish you. However if you mis input or you fail to connect your combos together you really leave yourself in a vulnerable state to be punish easily. This is even worse on console when you consider the fact that you can’t mod the game like on pc to have better frame rate, better input delay, and better connection to the servers. There are multiple times where I have I had my starter and bridge not connect simply due to them dodging out of the bridge or the weapon dropping and they dash immediately out. And yeah I guess you can say it’s fairly a new weapon since it came out in 2020, and Arcadia came out in 2022, however to make matters even worse you barley even see videos on people updating you on how to play gs when a new patch comes out or when the game has change significantly. I’ll see videos where the latest one is several months ago but weapons like scythe for example get updated tutorials or clips of people adapting to the new mechanics.

@@cezardecena3642 brother GS is the only weapon I truly believe you can mash and get away with it and MAYBE karats. You can react with scythe and yet you can’t mash with it. The mash from GS doesn’t come from reacting it comes from the time in between each frame which is just too small. It feels almost impossible to get away from a GS after dodging and getting hit.

@@ItzHoppie I get you on that, but wouldn’t the solution to countering this is just know how gs players are going to play and know what weapons easily counter it where it shines? Lahkan made a recent video where he mopped a gs player like nothing and he was in 2400-2500 elo. As gs players are kinda easy to predict how we are going to play.

@@cezardecena3642 True and I agree! But again GS won in a world championship. The opponent countering GS and knowing its strings. And it’s not a hard weapon to read most of the time you just don’t have to dodge in. The issue isn’t getting around it. The issue is getting hit with it once. I can be full white and accidentally misinput a dodge and now I’m on orange because of one Gs string being mashed. You only get two misses before you’re stock is deleted. It’s the same issue with Axe. You could be up 3-1 on stocks and an Axe player with hit you 4 times and your stock is gone. The weapons need to be balanced better.

The fact that you said Axe only has one good kill option shows me that I can trust your opinion. That weapon doesn’t need any good kill options when you can get your opponent from white to red in 4-5 hits. Neutral hits at that no sigs. It’s that’s high because it’s broken. And bow has good coverage but it’s weak compared to everything that is meta rn.

Not even that, gs doesn’t have enough legend support, we only have 4, the play rate of the weapon is low and bro if you play gs on console it’s even worse since you can’t even change the game nearly as much as pc

@@justvibing2497any weapon that can catch a dodge in yellow and kill in an inescapable string is broken. One bad dodge and u lose a stock or close to it, so while neutral can be a little bit more difficult at times the weapon is broken. Big hitboxes, low recov frames on a lot of moves, kill confirms and hits hard. The only downside is you can struggle in neutral with it at times.

@@ItzHoppie damage isn’t enough of a factor to determine a string weapon’s superiority over another string weapon. Not to mention boots are drastically better than Gauntlets at killing & neutral due to their lack of endlag, active input & most importantly, their true kill combo dlight. Matter of fact, unlike every other weapon, gauntlets don’t have a raw kill aerial (no gauntlet aerial has the knockback of, say Katar sair or sword nair) which makes their stray hit game arguably the worst in the game

@@pbz7572 What does a good string matter if it only does 10 damage in the end. You can do a 10 string combo with boots and the opponent still have a white to yellow stock. Its low damage makes the strings useless almost. Most of people who play boots play it because of the off stage potential like cannon and Scythe.

@@pbz7572 Gauntlets have a true kill confirm as well d light recovery works grounded with buffer and aerial if u do gc d light. Gauntlets aerial is better than like half the aerial in the game as well. Ground pound is a steerable hitbox. Nair can literally screw people up as well as catch panic jumps and sair might just be the best move on gauntlets. Sair literally hits nearly as hard as sair on katars and the angle is extremely bad for the opponent. Gauntlets strings are way better than boots strings without a doubt, the only downside being how hard it is to learn gauntlets.
