Thanks for the info! I shot the Valkyrie setup last year and was very happy. Shoulder bladed my bull elk at 46 yards and still got double lung penetration. Fletchings got stuck on the bone on entry side but still had 4” or so of arrow sticking out the other side.

Great review. I’ve decided to go out this year with my recurve and trying to decide on a broad head with great penetration (only a 47# bow) yet still gives a good blood trail. Was thinking a 2 blade single bevel like a cutthroat or the new single bevel iron will if they could ever make those available but that Valkyrie 3 blade looks very promising with that long blade (mechanical advantage). You’ve peaked my interest! Subscribing. Good luck this season!

Good review. I have the annihilator xl’s. They fly very well out of all of our bows and crossbows up to 450fps. I took a Buck and my younger son a doe with one and we could hear them drop. Thick laurel so can’t see much past 15yds. H sharpened the heads on a 344 sharpener to mirror finish. They didn’t even know they were hit. They both ran a short distance and just stood there looking back then crashed.

@@TheWVgoodguy22 Hey Forrest, I shot a mature buck like 4 years ago with a Montec. He didn't die within 10 to 15 seconds. The broadhead is nowhere near as sharp as the Valkyrie. When the head went to exit it caught the knuckle on the exit side, bent the tip & the arrow broke right behind the insert. All things that wouldn't happen with the Valkyrie. I have legal spots to hunt here but if a deer goes 100 yards in the wrong direction I can't recover it & it's just fox & coyote food @ that point. The Valkyrie is really so special u need a SEVR 21" target to practice with. They hardly dull in it. Take care.

I won't say my Name on here, but I will say you would know me or my name. This was a refreshing super non biased video and im glad it showed up on my feed. The Valkery has 1 advantage over the others I've found and that is when we slip up and crank a bone they absolutely blaze through it!, they glode through deer shoulder plates/blades and actually crack bone like a single or double bevel. They look like a viking head from hundreds of years ago. Love them. Great review man.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree, the Valkyrie is a fantastic head, especially when you miss a shot and hit bone or the animal moves on you. I think I mentioned it in the video, but I got 3 consecutive pass throughs on elk with the Valkyrie. Great heads! Thanks fo watching!

I haven't shot the valkyrie or annihilator, but have been really pleased with the Day Six heads shooting them for 2 years so far. I switched from Iron Will 125V's and seemed to have less erratic arrow flight with the Day Six setup. Another thing that pushed me away from the vented Iron Will heads was the "SSSSSSSSSSSS" in flight. They are incredibly loud! Probably not a fair comparison with a Day Six solid, but the sound you can hear from the target perspective was very noticeable from 50 yards!

I picked up the Annihilator broadheads last year in the 125 grain and 150 grain XL and I just could not get any consistent accuracy with then I would be hitting a .50 piece grouping at 20 yards with field points then I would be 12” high left then 12” low right 10” high center it seemed every arrow shot different to the point I ditched the Annihilator before season opener and went back to Muzzy Trocar. This year I picked up Valkyrie Reign arrows and 180 grain TI solid broadheads with aluminum sleeve. Really looking forward to giving these a try.

Had the same problem with Annilator. No blood trail, hit 2 white tails last season with this broadhead. Never found blood. The one deer I did recover ran 125 yards and expired in an open field. Bubbles from wound and mouth and nose, back tracked from deer to where deer was hit no blood. Internal damage was extensive. Never found 2nd deer even brought in a dog to track. Fly well , does damage but no blood.

I don't have make favs out of different companies. I do the testing & this is what I found. Something similar to the Annihilator would be the Bishop Holy Trinity. It doesn't have the swept blades. It really is easy to just drag across a flat diamond stone but a little tougher to get super sharp due to hardness unless you strop it @ the end of the process. Another couple of heads that I know people that use them that r similar to the Day 6 would be the Ironwill & the QAD Exodus. I'm personally done with broadheads year to year & the Bishops r said that u could pass them down to your grandchildren & I would put the Valkyrie's in that category. The wax will keep them fresh & clean in the quiver too for years. No need to put a plastic blade on your quiver hood like some people used to do on their feather-fletched arrows. In my opinion it's nice for people to have options. The bloodsport is a nice option to buy 3 or 6 to put on your conventional arrows. I'm more Full Measure than Half Measure so I did the short Jagger 210. I don't want to own a vented cuz it cuts down FOC. The 22 grain piece u mount on a micro 4mm arrow for the Valkyrie Viking Centerpin system is light so u can go with a more stout head. I believe the Valkyrie's r quiet due to the design which looks very aerodynamic. That design is tough enough to smash bones while also being able to go around bones. They r so sharp after going through an animal & into the ground a foot in very cold November soil its ridiculous. The sharpening system is really top notch & the only way u can screw it up is by not loosening the broadhead b4 sharpening. That Centerpin pushes into the shaft & then u screw it in. Someday they will make all points & inserts/outserts this way. U have to buy the field points to thread into your arrows for practice year round. But thar is a good thing. U will break less carbon arrows @ the end of the shaft on hard impact & I haven't broke 1 yet. I used to screw the Bishops into an Ethics 125 grain insert & I broke a couple of them with a 100 grain field point & bent a 100 grain field point which was not up to the tolerance & quality standards of the Valkyrie. If u want short bloodtrails over & over out of the same arrows year after year the Valkyrie will do that for u. I hunt from a 🌳 so I haven't lost any the last 3 years. If an old & smart deer stops & 10 yards quartering toward u when u r @ full draw u can take the shot @ the front of the shoulder to get an exit tight behind the opposite shoulder. Slug hunters have been doing this for years & Valkyrie has developed this for guys that hunt with bows. Trad guys with heavy arrows have also been doing this for years with great results as long as u have the setup to do it. Everywhere I hunt is on the fringe with property lines. Both public & private lands. High deer density but it's useless shooting a deer that u can't recover. Or worse yet, where u have to let it go for 8 hours b4 trailing. Too much of that in our woods already. What matters most is arrow flight & what happens upon impact. Everything else is just variables. Eliminate variables out of equations & things get much clearer & more fun too. Everyone be ethical out there. Great video. Not many out there with this content in them. Hope to see more follow up later. Take care.
