Great review Big B! Exciting to see Pro Boat come out with these mini versions. The full-size Recoil 2 is one of my absolute favorites. It looks like they nailed it with these little rippers! Looking forward to grabbing one of each livery and getting out on the lake this summer!
hell yeah, i'm all about the boats making a comeback! i got a BJ42 with a dasboata prop and a recovery tug boat last summer so i've been itching for another boat, but with self righting
I just did a stop-motion. It looks like the manufacturers finally got the idea that you have to round the corners off the rudder bracket to make it "Kick-up".......
Finally something that is the size of the old recoil 1 but it doesn't Submarine itself. I'm excited about the new proboat models in 2024, I wish I knew when they're releasing them
Woah you know we are getting new models ? I have a Veles V2 and Miss Geico V2. Would like a Sonicwake and an Impulse. It would really be nice if a new version of the UL-19 was released. I missed out on that one.
Considering that this model comes with Tx and battery for under $200, I'd say ProBoat has officially entered the realm of "Fast, Cheap, and Out of Control....." 😉
I would add one to the fleet, BUT........ I am operating under the "One In => One Out" rule at the moment, and that plastic hull thing I picked up the other day is really similar in size and performance. So while Dr. Jet may not PERSONALLY add one to his fleet, it doesn't mean he won't be recommending them to anyone that wants to join the Santee Lakes Old Boaters Society. It's the perfect size and speed for Santee and has many great features as you noted. I'm curious to see what other offerings ProBoat will have this year. I'd like to see a 1:16 scale hydro (turbine?) that would be in the 22"~24" range.@@IRONCLADRC
I recommend the 1:16 scale round nose and pickle fork hydros to the top developer at proboat last year. If they did a 1:16 hydro, it would be at least another year minimum for design and production

Got my recoil 2 18 yesterday and I love it but within 3 packs some of that tiny bit of water that made it in fried the receiver so please corrosion x or balloon your receiver big b I got lucky and my hobby shop pulled the receiver from there last mini recoil 2 for me
@IRONCLADRC Hey Ironclad. Can you please do a video on how to setup a rc boat with an edgetx radiomaster tx16s mkII ? All the youtubers are only interested in drones, planes, or helis. I have older FrySky ACCST V1 receivers. Not one youtuber has shown how to setup an RC Boat with this type of transmitter. :( I'm lost on how to setting up channels, dual rates, the 50/70 switch like the one on the proboat TX. i need help. :(
Is it better than the 26" version? It was a great boat but fragile as hell, and electronics were trash. It made it through one summer and did irreparable damage to the paper thin top and just trashed it.
I only have experience with rc crawlers but I like this boat. Do you know if I could put a reviever compatible with my flysky nb4 in this and retain the self righting feature?
Yea, all you really gotta do is forward/reverse fwd/rev until it self rights. You may be able to program the self-righting feature into a 3rd channel, but I'm not 100% sure.
You can yes, but I'd run it a few times in fresh water first make sure there's no leaks or water in the hull if there is you may need to trace down the leak b4 going salt water
Hey man do you know where I can get an esc for a recoil 1 I had it given to me by a family member before he passed away and he hoped I could fix it and is going to take it to the water and play with it but sadly he’s watching from above now Any info or help is dearly appreciated!
