Welcome back guys, finally got the PLM V1 4-2-1 Header in and I think for $350 it’s probably the best budget header for this car. Super beefy runners, good power gains, and a great sound. This header was a total pain to assemble with its slip joint design but I’ll show you guys what I did so it can be as painless as possible.

I just bought a k24 plm header for my rsx. When it comes time to install I'll remember this video and think it's not just me having a pain in the asss time lol

Bro!! Nice review!! What did u did you do about the o2 sensors? Did u have to get two or just 1? Like to connect on the header?

The test pipe portion has the other bung for the secondary O2 sensor so there’s a spot for both sensors to screw in. My secondary is disabled through my tune so I don’t need it but I had them screw in the secondary when they welded up the test pipe portion of the header just so it wasn’t hanging

@@staticspeedproductions8087 i figured!! I have some 1320 headers that i still haven’t installed reason i ask! Plm looks beefy looks like tri y big tube designs! So idk if i’ll need two o2’s or not so Nonetheless great video, hope u continue to make videos lol!

1320 header is the same as the PLM V2 header, K-Tuned Header, etc all the same design. Reason I went with PLM V1 is that is has the same design as the OG Skunk2 Megapower header which is discontinued which was the king of all headers back in the day and made the most power. The car comes with 2 O2 sensors and the 1320 header should come with two bungs so you’ll be all good

@@staticspeedproductions8087 yeah i noticed, the 1320 headers blends in the into one piping meanwhile these headers has two tri y pipings and then formin into one at the very end i noticed it lol! Skunk2 should still make nice headers bro

Yessir very true. The Skunk2 Alpha header that is out now works great but never makes as much as the megapowers did

Sounds so sick! I was wondering if the plm v2 will bolt right up to the skunk 2 Exhaust 70mm or do I need to add any adapter in between the exhaust and header?

@@staticspeedproductions8087 so update, I got the V2 and it doesn’t line up with the skunk 2 exhaust. The fitment is terrible, did you have any fitment issues with the V1?

Well I actually got my V1 welded on because I had to chop off my old test pipe before installing the header

@@staticspeedproductions8087 lol yeah i had gotten that welder just for it 🤣 ive heard they leak and the bolts come undone causing the pipes to slide back a bit....i wasnt taking any chances 🤣....ended up doing my buddys too and his was hella back out....had to beat it back in place with a rubber mallet 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I ordered plm V2 header for K24 swap FA5. I thought the main difference between V1 and V2 is V2 is one piece design.

No the V1 has longer runners, look at how long your test pipe is compared to mine mine is only about 7 inches or so

@@staticspeedproductions8087 I just got my car from the shop. Installed PLM v2 headers with test pipe and Rev9 exhaust. When the car is at standstill with engine on, I smell exhaust gases inside the cabin. I thought this happens with every car when catalytic converter is removed. I could be wrong but I smell exhaust gases inside the cabin.

Maybe if the windows are open but I’m so used to any smell it might give off that it smells good to me. Just give yourself like a month to get used to it and it won’t be a proboem

What year tsx cams are you using and what cam gears and are you using both intake and exhaust cam with tsx cams

06-08 TSX Cams are the best. The Exhaust cam is bigger than any K Series stock cam and the intake cams have way bigger primary lobes than Z3 cams so lots of low end power. You can pass people on the highway in 6th gear with ease, and your main VTEC kick of power will come on sooner. Im running the Z3 intake Cam gear 50 degree VTC and running the TSX exhaust gear

Yoooo love the build bro, my fg2 has a 3 in test pipe, straight pipe, short ram intake, throttle body spacer, and flashpro. I see your on tsx cams, would you suggest tsx cams for a build like mine? Or would I be best going full exhaust system first?

Thanks man, and it depends what size your straight pipe is, if it’s a full 3” then go TSX cams for sure. I have some dyno charts to show you if you DM me on Instagram. A header and TSX cams give you crazy gains throughout the whole power band

Yes but only when in VTEC. Normal driving it is the same but VTEC absolutely screams

How do you find out if you have an exhaust leak? Is it possible to get one from these headers since they're slip joints?

It will leak for the first week or so till you go back in and retighten everything but the slip joints will seal themselves up. You would notice a hissing sound if you have a leak

Get a rag with soapy water put it on the joints before hot, cold start with on jacks look for bubbles from joints.(one quick way to test)

@@ianfeit8760 Did have some leaks for a couple weeks but the seal back up. If you’re on a budget I recommend PLM. If you aren’t, I recommend Skunk2

Yeah mine sealed over time and I wouldn’t recommend welding to keep flexibility so the header doesn’t crack
