The patent leather is wonderful! Much more durable than regular lambskin, I would really recommend it! There is no wear or color-transfer on my cardholder and I’ve been using her non-stop!
Patent leather stains very easily. I will never buy it again. It discolours also after years of use. Heat also damages it because it is basically plastic on top of the leather. I had a pink wallet that turned beige with black letters on it from receipt or business cards laying in my bag. I had a dark purple wallet also that got some black stains. It can not be cleaned, because of the plastic layer on top. I ended up coloring mine black at a professional shop, though they did warn me before that it might be more sticky after, because they will remove a small amount of the plastic layer with acetone, so that they can color it... Stick to full, real leather. If it is 100 percent real leather it can always be cleaned, fixed and colored later on. The patent plastic layer on top makes it difficult to do anything with it which is extremely sad but Ive learned my lesson the hard way. The only patent you could safely use might be in a black color as it cant discolor over the years and wouldnt get visible stains either.

At first glance, the LV recto holder seemed to be the most practical but I really liked your insight about it being hard to use when it’s full. Manifesting my Chanel card holder one day 💓 I’m also particularly interested in the Loewe puzzle holder!

I love my Dior wallet which isn’t a card holder but is compact and can hold as many as 8 cards plus cash in the side slot. Otherwise, I love my Chanel card holder. It’s a classic and we bought our daughter one that she uses daily.
