I was a little late in my video upload this time but had to put in a lot of work for this! Really hope it is helpful ❤ Drop your thoughts and questions here! 😎
Your videos are so helpful thank you for such good and helpful content, i just wanted to know can you share a daily routine video in which you ll tell about how you use to prep for your studies and interview when you use to perform for other company and how you changed it to get selected in google , just wanted to know how to divide our daily time and to what to focus?
Also i have just completed my post graduate program from imarticus learning in data science and i have 0 work experience as i completed my graduation and directly went for this course , can you suggest some good internships for a fresher like me and where should i start from ?
Any company that hires you as an intern is a good company at this stage of your career. Don't think about money or anything just focus on learning even if it is unpaid internship. Try with consulting firms or even local companies around you!
Hi Jash, thanks for making these videos, these are very helpful as I have just started my carrier as Software Engineer In Big-Data. Its been 10 months as FTE (+3 month as Intern) in a US based startup firm and have worked on Spark, AWS (EMR, EC2, S3, Athena, Redshift), Airflow and worked on internal products that uses these technologies. Work-Life balance is a myth here😅 because main product of the company is Data and most of the time I spend my time making repetitive ETL for different clients and Learning is becoming stagnant due to this. Should I consider switching / will I able to switch with this work experience and considering current scenario. I have tried applying in few companies but No luck till now.
It sometimes happens when you are in a client facing role especially in a startup. I would suggest wait for completing 1 year here and then start applying elsewhere since market is not good now. Also the tech stack you mentioned is awesome so you will get a lot of opportunities if you are skilled in it. All the best! And thanks for watching
@@JashRadia no matter what fancy tech stack data engineers mention, the real job is ETL that they do on ETL tools , that's what informatica, abinito, data stage developers are doing for decades. 😂😂😂😂 As being a data engineer, data engg is stressful and very long working hours although pay depends on company. Better to be a software developer which is first class citizen, good pay, higher opportunities and defined boundaries which results in good work life balance 😅
Just got the DP203 - Microsoft Azure Data Engineer cert. Just wondering what next in terms of certifications to get? Am not really interested in machine learning. what other certifications should one progress to after DP203?
Hi jash, good to see your videos about data science roles. Ive been following you around 1 month and ive some questions regarding Which job would be more beneficial after a 5-year gap in the IT industry? Data analyst , data engineer or dara architect??
In terms of pay, Data scientist> data engineer> data analyst In terms of ease of entering data analyst> data engineering> data science In terms of technical work data engineering> data scientist > data analysis. Hope it helps to make you a decision!
@@JashRadia i too agree but all these things depends on company, you can be data analyst and be more paid than other data engineer or even data scientist. 😅
Thank you for the information, it helps me understand what it takes to become a data engineer. I am just getting started on this path and on my first year of schooling. I want to do data engineering, is there any literature that you would recommend to read to get more familiar with the data roles? What kind of certifications would be good for beginners in the field? Thank you, I have been following you for a couple of weeks now.
Thank you and glad to know! For certifications, I have a video on my channel and to understand more on data roles, you can check out the video titled "what really is data engineering" hope it helps!
Is there any eligibility for data engineer role. Like only engineer are allowed? Or BCA student are also allowed.? Because I am currently doing BCA Can I eligible for this role?
Hi Jash, Is it necessary to do an MBA if one has to go to the partner level if he is starting from an analyst/associate role in a consulting firm. Or just by YoE one can reach that level?
They are very different. Data ase engineer require narrow in depth knowledge of db administration and compared to that data engineer role is much wider
In data engineer which language is best Java Scala or python Many people say Java might be the best because of everything is built on Java which is the best for data engineers Java or python
It really depends on personal preference. I like Python more because of ease of use, wide range of libraries and connectors availability. Scala is more performant.
Hi Jash, to apply for intermediate level DE position at FAANG, do we need to be able to solve Dynamic Programming and Backtracking problems on Leetcode? Thanks!
nice Video Jash. last slide is more relevant to me. I am trying to change track from DE to Data Scientist. But issue is as you know DE is considered 2nd class Citizens so lot of reluctant is there that to be internal in company. whereas Data Scientist been asked to do all work of Data Engineer. Any thought on such dilemma and any video for DE to DS transition or road map will be helpful.
Hi Jash, I recntly came to your channel and I am very confused about which path should I go...Hoping you can put some light into this deliema. I have done a master's in data science, got myself machine learning 6 months of internship where I designed the predictive algorithm and shiny web interface (using R). After that, I got a job as BI analyst and it was more than writing the user cases, I was designing the dashboard in powerBI and also doing alogirthiam using R, My main activities were to understand the requirement of the business and create a prototype solution for them. I really enjoyed that part, Kinda felt important. I am currently working as a data analytics engineer which was a data analyst but the company changed the position, I was part of the proof of concept creating a pipeline but that did not work out for the company and never created any pipeline after that. Now I need to look for a job as being in this position I don't know where am I going as it is not at all "data engineer" kinda work. I am getting a lot of messages for the data engineer role but I liked the work I was doing talking to stakeholders on an everyday basis and designing reports, doing R code, SQL. Having said that, who doesn't love the better salary, of course, there is a higher salary for data engineers compared to data analysts and BI analysts. I am not sure which path should I really choose?
Same thing happened with me lol. I worked for few months in PowerBI and then my project changed to ETL dev (data engg). I will share my experience. I enjoyed working on PowerBI and analytics more than this data engineers as it has creativity and actually helping the business and talking to clients. Data engineering is very very stressful and work life balance is myth. You will be not recognised for the kind of work what you do and always be a second class citizen than other data scientist, analyst and software developer. You will be doing repetative ETL pipelines and using SQL in many databases. That said, man you need to use lot of tools and tech which results in high pressure as you need to learn them in short period of time and apply in your project. I see this as con , bcz although I like learning new techs and tools but it's too much here and becomes obselote after some time. As you i am also confused to continue in this field or go back to data analyst or become traditional developer in frontend or backend. Beware if you choose to become data analyst or PowerBi deve or any other dev it's risky as many many people are coming into this and it's too easy to work with powerBI and SQL.
Hi Jash Radia, I am From Nepal 🇳🇵. A 19 y/o boy having a curiosity to learn Data Science. Can you make a video on the courses that are available online for data science step-by-step. If you can !! It means a lot to us
Hi jash, i am a UPSC aspirant which has 5 year gap but now want to shift to data analytics. Is it a right decision and will i get jobs bcoz i have 5 year gap ? I hope you will definitely reply 😊
Hi Jash, I have 9 years of work experience. Combination of Non technical work and moved to RPA 5 years back. I now want to move to Data Engineering role, have seen your Roadmap video and started studying, but in between job and family study time is less. I would like get some help with Data Engineer through project work...where can I do that? Can you help? Thank you for your videos, even if I don't get a reply!
Thanks Koushik. After following the roadmap, the hardest thing will be to sum it up a couple of end to end projects. You can setup a time with me on topmate when you reach at that level and I can help you out in that. You can find the link for it in the description :)
Hi Jash, Thanks for your vlogs. I have a question, is it the interviewer who have a set of their own selection of interview questions or is it like a bank of questions they are being provided with. I mean to ask, if the panels have their own questions or they are given a set of questions (possibly from recruiting team) to ask from ?
Which one is better in terms of demand, compensation, better roles Transitioning from data engineer to data science or Data science to data engineer Given that its possible to attain similar level of skills in both
Usually data scientists earn more than DEs but most of DS work doesn't involve creating ML models or anything from scratch. Mostly you end up using pre built things and improve them so less engineering involved there. It's a matter of personal preference
@@sudarshanmhaisdhune1039 it's bcz clients or business people don't know that it's data engineers who are actually enabling the underlying infra and giving clean data with unbreakable architecture to data scientist. And also data scientist is fancy title and so more expectation from them. Data engg are second class citizens 😂😂
Hey Jash, I just started my SE degree. But these constant layoffs and the fear around fututre AI models have me worried about future job oppertunities. Some say there wont be place for entry levels positions, that the entry level market is too saturated , that AI would make software engeneers obelete/ reduce jobs in half. Even some of my friends are deciding to leave alltogether. What do you think? Is it even worth following this path anymore?
Yes it is. AI won't be replacing us any time soon. Did you even see how inaccurate most of the ChatGPT answers are when it comes to facts? They are good for creative answers only as of now. Also, check out my video on ChatGPT to understand its limitations even in small scale projects. Forget about big ones. Don't worry about it too much
Jash you told us hirerachial structure for data engineering in consulting companies so it is applicable for also bcg McKinney also because these are also consulting based companies which hires data engineers
Heyy jash i hv one small doubt Is data engineers going to do analysis work? I mean data analyst part?? Does data engineering includes data analyst role?
@@JashRadia I asked this becoz recently i saw the uber system design. there i saw many tools related to data engineering like kafka, nodes, RDBMS, hadoop, spark, stream processing. Jash Plz reply
I'm working in capgemini started my career as a fresher. Currently, I'm having a 1 yr exp and Part of a project called Data Conversion. Where I've creating pipelines in Talend and SQL. So, I want to switch into Product based or like Big 4 companies as a Data Engineer/Analyst. Can you please help me out to Get into those companies, Any roadmap for 1-2 exp professionals in Data engineering.
Hi Sid, I have a data engineer roadmap on the channel that applies to people with all levels of experience. If you need my 1:1 mentoring you can book a session with me on topmate and link is in the description.
Hey Jash , I really needed this kind of overview. Right now I'm in a Senior Data Analyst Position.I came from a more technical sort of background where unofficially I was doing most of the data engineering work for 4-5 years in my previous company .But since my current position is an analyst track my role is mostly around designing and delivering data models to the UI folks. I feel this has taken away the tech specs and added more of the business specs. My question is if ultimately I wanna get into the Data Science route what path should I take? Should I officially get into the data engineering roles or should I continue in the analyst role.I keep feeling most of my skills are not being utilised except the SQL skills.
If you're interested in utilising wide array of technical skills then data engineering is good option but it will take you away from business outcome. So if you want something in the middle, data scientist is a good option.
