Thanks for including Ethos in your detailed testing, Dmitry! We're thrilled to see the Ethos Max performing so well, especially with its durability and overall toughness. It's great to hear that it's standing up to the 1,000+ wash tests and delivering on the specular reflection and visual appeal as well. We appreciate your feedback about the ease of use, and we're always working to make the application process as smooth as possible for both beginners and pros alike. Keep up the amazing work with your in-depth testing - it's always insightful and helps the detailing community make informed decisions!
Everyone needs to know how impress Dmitry's testing really is. I do coatings formulation and he is doing the best to objectively test these products to actual testing standards and using real tests. I think we are all going to be wowed with he comes up with next.
I used the Ethos Max on our Tesla, first time use and I'm not sure how much easier the other products were to apply I didn't feel it was too hard. Did my first wash after about 7 days and was overwhelmed how easy it was to clean. The soap fell off the car. A quick rinse was almost like washing it. Great product great recommendation, thanks.
Awesome to get a field report, thanks! I don’t think it’s overly hard which is why it still got a +5 on my scoring, thats out a range of -10 to +10. If you are a technical person or generally handy and experienced with detailing it shouldn’t be an issue. Some first timers will definitely have a harder time than you did, especially if their environment is challenging (temp/humidity/lighting).
Very South Alabama was high humidity outside in the shade temperature was about 93 degrees. I was applying the coating and the wife attempted to wipe off. Possibly the effort to wipe the product was stiff to more than stiff but a little effort and that then became silk smooth to finish to the end. Washing was incredible my washing brush felt like silk on clean glass. I did a wash, clay, 3200, 3400, 3800 chemical guy's buff. The 3200 was done WET, very WET. Not sure the person but Ammo and this guy did a Ferrari and he like to keep the car wet while buffing. I went that and more. Figure water cool lubricant and would flush away contamination at the same time. The next two steps were more of the dryer side. 2016 X that lived in Phoenix. It looks very nice now
Thank you for doing amazing work and testing. This is by far the best detailing ANALYSIS channel review. Hands down, does not get any better. Appreciate you stick to facts and data. Keep up amazing work.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Through the years, I have used many combinations of protections. As of now, I have Adams Graphene Spray Coating with Slick and Slide for weekly basis.
Great video as usual! It's cool that you took the time to consider my comment in the Artdeshine Test video about the updated instructions. :) I will soon post a 1 year durability test for the Artdeshine NGC V3 with a car driving in Canada (in Quebec therefore with a lot of snow during the winter) The gloss is like day 1 and the slickness still there. Very happy to see Artdeshine appear in this video!
Thanks Andrew, glad you liked the video. Im really excited about Artdeshine in general, and I’ve got a bunch of their new stuff to test! Im definitely curious how the retest will affect things, it may be even more durable! They sent me some pretty cool info about some electron microscopy they had of the coating, which ill also talk about.
I dont use a ton of pastes myself anymore, but I really liked the vonnix carnauba with ceramic, as well as some of the older (don’t think sold anymore) soft99 pastes. I tend to favor liquids when not using a spray or coating.
This is maybe the second video I've ever seen on your channel, and I wish I'd found this a lot sooner. There's so many hucksters, grifters, and shills making content about detailing, and it seems pretty obvious this is an industry that has no morals about buying good publicity. Thanks for making these videos and being so up front about how your channel is funded. I know this is expensive, time consuming, and huge efforts to make content. I respect that. But I just can't stand people shilling rubber dog turds after they got a free trip to a dog turd factory.
Always appreciate the testing you do, in a class of your own as far as I’m concerned. I will say you should try to find an in between with that washing machine. Maybe if a product can’t stand up to 10 washes on the machine, do 10-20 washes by hand and see if they correlate?
Thanks for the kind comment! That is an interesting idea, and Ill consider it. The main goal of the elcometer has been to standardize a comparative durability test rather than emulate hand washes. I do see how hand washes may give more sensitivity in testing low durability products.
Dimitry i love ur channel, as also the spreadsheet on ur website. Love that type of stuff :D. Is there any chance fusso coat water block splash or collinite beadcoat are coming in a future test? Kind regards. 🤓
I've been testing some of Ethos' products and some perform very well. My only issue is them is customer service is virtually nonexistent. It took them 5 days to reply to a customer service inquiry. Then another full day to tell me they were going to escalate my question to "the internal team". At that point, I couldn't wait any longer and placed my order with Adam's.
Definitely not what you want to hear! What was the issue you were trying to resolve? I appreciate the field report, hopefully this is a one off issue for them.
@@DmitrysGarage It wasn't even a product issue. I purchased their Ceramic Wax on Amazon after seeing it on sale and liked it so placed a small order. When checking out I got a pop up offering a 30% discount on my next order. I figured that was worth placing a larger order so was ready to purchase most of their line including their entire ceramic line, I noticed during checkout the discount didn't look as large as it should have been (it was discounting 20% instead of 30%) so messaged them with a asking if the promotion had expired or if there was a different code I could use. I didn't hear back for 5 business days (not even over a weekend). When they responded they asked for clarification so I sent a screencap of the offer. They responded the following morning and said they would send my question to "the internal team". By then Adam's put their Graphene line on sale for 30% off which I already use and love so I just placed my order with them. I'm product agnostic so in my garage right now I have Adam's, CG, Griot's, OG Turtle Wax and TW Hybrid Solutions, ONR, Wolfgang Concours, Meguiar's, Armor All, 3D, Jay Leno's Garage, P&S, Mother's, Eagle One, and was looking forward to trying out Ethos more but I bought enough Adam's products to fill my needs so Ethos will have to wait.

We’d love to make it right.
@@ethoscarcare Thank you for your response. Under normal circumstances, time wouldn't have been an issue except this time I was looking for products to wash and detail my 16-year old niece's first car that I am going to work on this weekend and surprise her with on Monday so I needed those products within a delivery deadline.
Awesome job on this video!!! If you had to pick just one product that has the best hydrophobic properties what would you pick? Thanks keep up the good work
Thanks you again for a quality video. You are now my go to guy about detailing. Can you let me know what you would recommend using as a detail spray for maintenance after coating my vehicles with the Ethos Max coating? Many Thanks!
Great video and love all of the testing you do! Would love to see a test of how each type of product (wax, sealant, ceramic spray and coating) actually does to protect from water spots, bug etching and bird poop! I understand ceramic coatings are supposed to be superior, but, can a sealant/ceramic spray provide the same level of protection? Even if it requires reapplication 1-2x a year.
Water spots are definitely something I want to test in the future. Not sure how to emulate bugs, maybe just the compounds in them that affect paint. Definitely open to ideas :)! Thanks for watching and the kind words!
Дмитрий, добрый день! Спасибо за материал. У нас тоже снимают подобные тесты. Есть свои производители, за частую очень высокого качества. С приветом из России.
Im a big fan of PPE. I think gloves are always a must. Face protection depends on environment and how much exposure you have. Professionals need the most PPE due to long term exposure risks. If I were spray coating cars in a small shop all day I would wear something like a n95 or p100. If using a lot of solvent based coatings i might use a chem cart with that p100 or n95 to absorb the solvents. It ultimately can’t hurt to be safe. I don’t know that it’s a big deal to spray a silica sealant outdoors few times a year without a mask. It’s a bit like spray paint, you should wear a whole body coverall suit to avoid any skin contact anywhere with many of them (ie 2k), but you can hardly even get an occasional diy user to put on a paper mask on let alone a whole suit and full face mask with chem cart/filter.
Is that because its being used by people that have no idea what they're doing. If you dont do a thorough prep, youre going to have problems. Just checked reviews... Are you talking about the ONE one star review?
Unfortunately, Amazon very unfairly manages reviews against the favor of brands, anyone can leave a review even whether they purchase or not and for products that don't have many this could severely impact its rating. We are unable to message the customer or comment on the review to find out what may have gone wrong, not saying it is the case for this but it wouldn't be the first time a competitor has left reviews on our listings.
Thanks for doing all the testing to help us all get better results and hopefully find easier to use products. @DmitrysGarage Would you consider testing the Blue Collar family of Ceramic Products (Apex Auto Detail), as I have used the BC1 and it is easy to apply. Would love to see how it and some of their other products hold up to your testing. You have a new subscriber
Thanks for subscribing and watching this video. Ill definitely add the Blue Collar coatings to the list, there are so many out there. I tend to prioritize based on request count when viewers ask about a specific product.
