Best Chamonix Hikes: Montenvers, Mer De Glace, Grand Balcon Nord, Glacier Des Pelerins 

The path across from the Plan de l'Aiguille to the old cablecar station is used to get to the Refuge des Grands Mulets. There was risk of stonefall affecting the path 44 years ago when I used it. It can only be worse now, plus the state of the 'glaciers' is so much worse.

Good decision not to cross that glacier. I came back from gare de glaciers across it a couple of weeks ago and the descent of the lateral moraine was super sketchy. The path drops down below the glacier and then climbs back up on the lateral moraine. Great video though.

Do you have a map of the route you did by any chance? :) And also total distance?

How long did it take for you to get from the train station to the hotel?
