So glad that I got to do a Cheesesteak Tour when I visited Philadelphia this time because when you are in Philly, you got to eat some good Philly Cheesesteak!!
Cheesesteak sandwiches have always been one of my favorite kind of sandwiches, that's why I had to make it my mission to see what the best Cheesesteak Sandwich that Philly has to offer!
Not only did I get to taste the cheesiest Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich that was oozing out with cheese, but I also got to try one of the biggest Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches too! This Cheesesteak sandwich is filled with an insanely amount of toppings, full of juicy seasoned meat, fried onions, peppers and most of all, and it has so much cheese!
Mmm, thank you, Philadelphia for your fantastic Cheesesteak Sandwiches, I will be back for more of that cheesy sandwich!

glorious! Philly, our home town, represent! Jim's was our classic favorite but Johns Roast Pork is underground legend. My high school buddy had the cheesesteak record for so many years at Jim's , ate 12 in an hour and half. He is vegan now...

Mike, As a life long Philly resident, I was so excited to see you visiting cheesesteak places that are not tourist traps! I live 10 min from Dallasandros and they make an awesome cheesteak and tuna hoagie (got one in my fridge right now. Pat’s on South Street is IMO, even more delicious. I have never, ever seen Pat’s so empty. There is almost always a line down the side street.

Pats and Genos steaks are trash. Born and raised in philly still live here and Pats and Genos steaks taste like cardboard that’s why Mikey didn’t go

The reason Pats and Genos get longer lines than Jim’s is simple they are tourist destinations(traps) and they are for the drunk club goers that don’t have anywhere else to go for a cheesesteak. Mikey knew where to go for a good cheesesteak. Non of which were Pats or Genos. Mom and Pop stores have better cheesesteaks, shoot the Chinese American takeout places here make better cheesesteaks lol Just because celebrities visit a place doesn’t make it good. But try them out if you’d like to know what wet cardboard and cheese on bread taste like

Mike, I think you might have to do a part 2 to this. Steve's, Tony Luke's, and Dalessandro's have FANTASTIC cheesesteaks, and if you want classics, do Pat's and Geno's (but I think both are overrated tourist traps). If you're feeling extra adventurous, figure out which one you like the most, get a slice of Lorenzo's pizza, and wrap the cheesesteak in it to make a Philly taco. Yes, it's a real thing, and yes, it's amazing.

SuckaFree215 You are so right. lol. Places in philly call it a "Cheesesteak". Every where i been outside of philly call it a "Philly Cheese Steak", even jersey that is 10 minutes from philly, cant make a cheesesteak properly. Most places out of philly use thick slices of the leanest steak possible, which is tough and has no flavor and has no grease or juice. A cheesesteak is suppose to have grease and juice coming out of the steak. But places out of philly buy the leanest meat because its more healthy for you. But people are not buying a cheesesteak to eat healthy. LOL. They want to eat a cheesesteak with a lot of flavor and melting in the mouth tender.

I used to live on south street and over the years I’ve seen all sorts of businesses, big and small, go out of business. The fact that Jim’s is STILL there after all this time....love it or hate it, they’re doin’ somethin’ right. My favorite cheesesteak doesn’t exist any more, sadly. I’m one of those non-meat people, and there used to be a spot around the corner from Jim’s called Gianna’s grille....it had vegan, vegetarian, and omnivore versions of literally everything on their menu and it was all soooooooo good. Sigh. The food is what I miss the most about living in the city. Oh, but Govinda’s is still open (I think) and most of their food is pretty good!

My mom's family is from Philly so I was introduced to cheesesteaks at an early age. Initially it was Jim's, but since then, D'Allessandro's has been my spot. I drive up from Baltimore a couple of times a yr for their hoagies &/or cheesesteaks.

Yes a classic Philly Cheesesteak has cheese whiz on it. But a great Cheesesteak has the cheese on top, and it's provolone with caramelized onions and mushrooms on a toasted roll. Gotta be toasted or it gets soggy.

I visited Philly for work. I only ever tried a cheese steak from John's Roast Pork, but it was a legitimate surprise. I thought the philly steak was overhyped, but I 100% would go out of my way to revisit John's for a cheese steak.

I had to pause at the John’s Roast Pork portion of this video. You picked the greatest two sandwiches in town, both served at the same location. The pork is the better of the two. (Try ketchup on the cheesesteak). Right around the corner is Rocco’s Italian Sausage. This is a must try. And lastly, Philly has some great Vietnamese restaurants. The absolute best Bun Bo Hue served in the city is at Cafe Diem…. You’ll definitely enjoy these suggestions.

Grew up in Philadelphia...thank goodness you went to really good spots like Jim's and Max's...sorry to say, I tell my friends who visit Philly to avoid Geno's and Pat's...they're not bad...just not as good as people might think...you went to some great places.

Hey I have to say you missed Gino's they have great cheesesteak in Philly ! Now you have to go back and then you need to go to White House Sub shop in Atlantic City N.J.

never buy a cheesesteak from a spot where there meat is already cooked, it's flavorless and over cooked. Tony lukes is also good.

Lol i dont know why but every time i see avideo about cheesesteaks i have to watch it even though they’re usually about the same philly spots just something about watching a cheesesteak especially being from cali i gotta make it to philly before i die lol
