Another member of my family also had a matiz and I can remember it was really roomy inside; we got 3 average sized adults and to kids inside. It didn’t feel to bad although the cars engine completely broke down not too long after. It lived 18 years... RIP Daewoo Matiz...
I have Hyundai Atos from year 2000. My whole family used to go to seaside with it (800Km from Serbia to Greece), all 5 of us. Boot is big enough for 3+1 soft bags (3 lenghtwise and one across over them) + 2 smaller ones over wheel arches , and some clutter can fit under boot around spare wheel. There was even room for parasol.
My mother had a Hyundai Atos 2000. Very nice car, a lit of space for its size, very efficient with fuel consumption,. Very reliable car, cheap maintenance, cheap tax and insurance, and when it was time for me to buy a used car, i was in dilemma, buy the Atos or the Accent? I bought the Accent 2004 model. Both of them were in excellent condition, their price was the same, so i bought "more car" for the price.
Btw, Serbia Greece with an Atos? 😁 When i was a 5yo kid we were traveling with 957cc Ford Fiesta 1982 model from Athens to Komotini city every summer. Almost the same distance with the Serbia-Greece road trip
I have no idea what the downer on City cars was on Men and Motors - the success of the i10, Mii, UP! , CityGo, 108, C1, Aygo, Panda, 500 etc shows how far off the mark they were - swamped by a Tsunami they never saw coming through their sneers
A member of my family had a seicento and I can remember it was quite fun to be in it. The 1.1 engine was enough for a car that small so it felt pretty quick!
Ive owned the mk2 arosa 1.0s and now ive got the mk2 deawoo matiz 1.0 4cyl 8v version and i must say the seat has better build quality but the matiz is more nippy and the turning circle is fantastic, having 5 doors is also better and the matiz is also legally a 5 seater although very tight but not bad for children as i have a few, parts are also cheaper than the arosa.
He was horribly biased against the Sei, he even contradicted himself several times. I`ve owned several, absolutely loved them, one of the best handling cars of its time. I still own 5 small Fiats (Panda, Uno`s & a 500), because they`ve proven themselves to be well made, reliable, well thought out, stylish & fun, so I will continue owning & buying them till I die!
unexceptionaldiecast yeah the fiat was the first off the road daewoo next and then the seat the fiat was last on the road in 2009 daewoo was 2010 and the seat 2012
I'd take one any day over the other two, it's easy to get in and out of with 4 doors, can easily take 4 adults in reasonable comfort, manages a small amount of shopping and luggage, is nippy in the town with the 800cc version and with the 1.0 litre version, great on the motorways, and is good on economy too.
SEADiablo I had the Cordoba and also drove numerous Ibizas. Very high quality of interior and exterior finish - far better than in the newer ones (Ibiza III etc).
I bought a mk1 Ford Ka over those 3. 1.3 engine so pretty powerful for its size, boots quite large compared to them 3. Its only a 4 seater but the rear seats have great leg room. And for a young male, whose just passed his test, Very cheap to insure. Only downside is they do suffer from rust quite badly if not maintained properly
Few people know a particular: the Matiz was born as a proposal for Fiat (see Fiat Lucciola based on Fiat Cinquecento). Fiat refused it, Giugiaro proposed it to Daewoo who wanted to produce it with 5 doors. Essentially, the Fiat management made a suicidal decision: a small Fiat MPV (bigger than Matiz) went to the market only in 2003 (Fiat Idea, Punto mk2 based) always from Giugiaro
Having owned both a Matiz and arosa, I can tell you a few things about this review, the first is that he isn't comparing them to each other but more reviewing them as though they weren't the cheapest cars on the market at the time, especially with the space thing, they're small cars what do you expect? This was also filled with massive inaccuracies, not a fair comparison
imo the seicento is the perfect of all 3 sunroof to make headroom higher split seats 1.100cc instead of 800 like the matiz proper sporty looking only no power steering but it's fine
It seems sadly ironic that the daewoo matiz turned out to be thirstier, rustier and more polluting (in the UK) that the other two cars here. I also thought the interior plastics felt too cheap for a car competing with the other two brands. A good idea in principle but didn't quite do it for me personally (yes I've owned a matiz and a seicento and much prefer the latter)..
+RogueTeiars very true a few customers of mine still haven them but they are elderly and that will probably be they're last car. The arosa is getting very popular in U.K. Atm
Arosa is basically re-badged VW Lupo, so why not get a Lupo instead? Also, its tasteless. Its like wearing white tank top and thinking you're different from the others. Bullshit. Matiz? wtf. Seicento? Good looking, fuel efficient, mini hot-hatch with lively engine, that loves to rev. Remember, that you need to feel good in a car. What kind of emotions will Arosa deliver? Sinking in a wallpaper glue? Matiz? Being different is a nice thing, but being hideous... not much. Seicento? Again, its great.
Cornel Con rubbish. Seat Arosa and it's brother donor car VW Lupo is very cramped in the back and gets worse if you have adults in the front with seats pushed back
Daewoo Matiz - best of the three for 4 adults and a small amount of shopping / luggage plus easier access to front / rear with 4 doors, Seat Arosa - poor choice, tiny boot, extremely restricted legroom in useless rear seats, not a good choice to carry adult passengers in the rear due to cramped legroom, Fiat Seicento - again poor for rear legroom / bootspace, weird pedal placement, not very comfortable at all.
@@laikagiouri816 I hate the Seicento, it's horrid - the boot is tiny, the rear legroom is bloody uncomfortable and restricted, and the pedals have a weird placement making for uncomfortable driving, and it's unsafe in a crash with a 1 star EURONCAP crash test rating, add to that, a driver only airbag was an optional extra.

The Fiat Seicento for me, I have one! Road noise? No Power steering? why do you need power steering on such a light car? if you need power steering to park then your doing something wrong Mr Presenter, dry steering! not what your driving instructor taught you!
sorry if this is to late but I'm driving the 2002 seicento and i love it to bits. its a brilliant around town car and the 1.1 engine isn't to bad ether, it may not pull off like a focus but you can still have some fun. its small size makes parking super easy and you can fly round country lanes. lastly i don't think they look that bad, i am a fan of the sporting seicentos style. i would recommend
Nice, they are pretty sweet cars. i was looking at a standard 206 for my first car but it cost way to much on the insurance because of my age. One day ill get a convertible, a MX5 hopefully, but till then my sun roof will have to do hahaha
If I am just my self driving the car I would get the seat because I think that it’s more of a polo than a vw up but if I had a family and this would be the second car I would choose the matiz but with the 1.0 and not the 0.8 not because is not great the 0.8 but the 1.0 has just the right amount of power for that car and also if you have to accelerate you don’t have to wait the next geologic era I think...anyway have a nice day bye 🙂
I really fail to understand the importance of "second-hand value" for cars. If you buy a car consider your money gone, you have the car you want in return. If you get something when/if you sell it, it's a bonus. Just enjoy your car while you have it, stop wondering what you will get selling it. Just take care of it.
"The engine sounds atrocious" The tester is sadly unaware that the engine is a three cylinder unit and the sound is characteristic and unique to that configuration. "They all sound like that sir" Ask someone who knows cars!
Matiz - a lot of rust... Arosa - same, but Arosa twin VW Lupo have quite nice euroNCAP crashtest.... Seicento...very poor crashtest results :D But fun to drive with nice fuel consumption :D I love Seicento :D
Very inaccurate statement, Arosa's have great anti-corrosion finishing, thats why they are still plentiful on the road, where as the Fiat & Matiz are very rare in comparison.
Clio is french therefore has poor buid quality & reliability. The Seat is basically a rebadged Vw & will be much more long lived than the other 2 & most certainly any Clio.
@@fishbmw - "is french therefore has poor bui(l)d quality & reliability." & "Vw & will be much more long lived than the other 2" - based on nothing other than folklore, stereotype and prejudice.....
