That UNC and Tennessee game is why they have a runoff on offensive penalties late in the game (of course if the opposing team elects to use said runoff)
I'm not a Longhorn fan (far from it lol) or a Red Raider fan (equally far from) but, that ending to their 2008 game has been voted one of the best ever by several Sports Media. On the final Drive of TT's, Texas (who was ranked #1 at the time, and TT was #7) could/should have won when the Safety Gideon dropped an INT that was deflected into the air (by a WR not even looking for the ball) and hit Gideon in his hands, and he just dropped it. Harrell drove TT to the UT 28 yard line, and there was 8 seconds left with UT up by 1. TT didn't have any good Kickers on the team, and the one Coach Leach went with was actually a walk-on whom Coach saw at a previous game, kicking a FG at HT in a FG-For-Rent competition! Coach sent one of his assistants to the kid's dorm room to ask him to show up at practice at the upcoming Monday, and tryout!! The kid did show up and won the bloody job. Coach didn't want to send that brand new kicker new to Football in to try a 45 yard FG so, came the infamous play when with 8 seconds left Harrell hits Crabtree on around the 10 yard line, right on the sideline to his right, and Crabtree catches the ball and walks into the EZ! Many people believe that was one of the Top10 games ever in CFB. Even as a Sooner fan, I believe that game....especially the last few minutes....was one of the best all-time. PLUS....Texas lost lol.
The LSU Florida game the holder is down because his knee was down when he first got the ball and he doesn’t need to be touched so technically that is like taking a knee and he should be down
there is a special rule that when the holder has the ball he is allowed to have a knee down as long as he is in his initial stance.....if your rule is correct then every single field goal should be blown dead because the holder has to catch the ball before holding it.
Seriously? Haven't you seen that on every FG/PAT Try....in every CFB/NFL/HS (and other Leagues) in at least the Modern Era....the Holder takes his position with a knee down? That is the only accepted time (in CFB/HS) a player can have a knee down whilst having the ball in their hands. Now, if a Holder leaves that position to reach for a high, or wide snap...there could be a problem (I've never seen a snap so bad for that to occur). I may be wrong on that but, touching a knee down twice sounds problematic.
Still think that 2011 Oklahoma State team was snubbed from the BCS national championship. Feels like they would have beat LSU, LSU didnt have the offense to keep up with that team
notional champions dont lose to a .500 iowa state team.....and yall should have lost to stanford anyway. This discussion wouldnt even be relevant if stanford had a half decent kicker that year.
All the Pokes had to do was not lose to a Cyclones team that was sub .500. The Cyclones and Wildcats (especially the Wildcats...who themselves was 1 win from playing for a NC....once) have broken hearts too many times in the Big8/12....not too mention the upsets they pulled off vs teams outside the Conference. The Big12 in 2021-22 is going to be very exciting with OU, ISU, OSU, TCU and UT battling it out. No one can afford to lose a single game they are supposed to win, and for some they are going to have to win games they are not supposed to win.
It was so incredibly wild....people like to use the narrative that the voters just favored bama irrationally but reality is that EVERY SINGLE team in the top 12 in the poll the week after bama lost to LSU lost AFTER them.....I believe the highest ranked team other than lsu and bama to go undefeated from bamas loss on is South Carolina at rank 13 and they already had 2 losses. The system I believe wanted to avoid a rematch if possible but no one stepped up to help them out.
As a Vikings fan....you just thrusted me back (unwillingly lol) to that Playoff Game (2016) vs the Seahawks, when Walsh missed a bloody 27yd FG that would have most likely given the Vikings a 2 point win! That was a gut kicker, and even though it was bitterly cold (Bud Grant though was out in short sleeves lol), it was just a chip shot 27yd FG! He deserved to be FIRED! WHY Blair...WHY??!!.... lol. Teddy played his ass off that day, and drove the Vikings down the field BUT, Blair couldn't finish the job.....10 to 9 was the final.
WTF....how did the Officials not see the Michigan Kicker flinch forward slightly BEFORE the snap (in the last clip vs VT)? That should have been a False Start Penalty lol.
I have watched football for a great portion of my life. I still don't understand how these teams can fake a FG when the rule clearly states that a player is ruled down when he had ts the turf even if he is untouched he can not advance the ball. Why is that rule ignored only for fake FG's.
I was really enjoying this then at 3;25 the female announcer. Talk about buzzkill. I don’t need a woman, who can’t play therefore doesn’t really “get” the game, talking about it. I’m straight. Married with kids, family. And I’m not even close to being a chauvinist. But keep women OUT of the game of football except to cheerlead, which is a thing of beauty. To try to put women in the game as far as playing it (Vanderbilt kicker) is stupid and very dangerous. The game is going to be ruined if things try to be “inclusive”. It is BS.
Good video, but how on earth is the final Texas-Texas A&M game not in there? You know, just the walk off kick by Justin Tucker to end the rivalry. No biggie.
@@Luke-uh7lq I doubt it. We were terrible back then, and still beat you on your own field with Case freakin’ McCoy. Possibly the worst QB we’ve ever had. Lol
