I got the HORI ones when they came out, they're alright, but man once I got the Mobapads after your first video on them, I love them SO much I don't think I have taken them off since. Just the best. Thanks for these great in depth videos and comparisons! :)
To ba fair, i bet Hori would also love to add in all those missing festures in their Split Pad series. However, due to their agreement with Nintendo, i guess the former isn't allowed to do so as it would be in conflict with the official Nintendo Joycons.
I have had the Mobapad M6 HDs for about a week. Hands down the best way to play handheld, and I have tried most options. I painted the rings around the joystick and my dpad to add a little color because I wasn't a fan of the all white.
I have owned my original, Splatoon 2 themed Switch since 2017 but never played on it much once I got my gaming PC back in 2020. I'd say the main benefit about getting back into the Switch this late into its lifespan is that you can get some awesome third party joycons like the mobapad. I ordered mine a few hours ago and it should be here next week, can't wait tto try them out.
I’ve been rocking the Mobapad M6 HD thanks to your video recommendation. Really liking it. Have played hours of Hades using it. But playing in the dark in my room, I do feel it would be nice if the button has some lights to it and then I found out about QRD Stellar T3 / T5. Keen to watch a comparison video from you for both of them especially since both uses Hall effect joy stick and trigger and mechanical switch face buttons. Thanks!
I got the Coiorvis because they are a bit cheaper, which makes me believe it is indeed a brand swap but Man!! I had the Hori Pro (bigger hands) but eventhough the coiorvis is smaller, the build quality makes the entire switch feel like a different more premium device! its crazy good, and the buttons feel sharp to me, even though my pinky hangs in the void now lol.
Bro after your video on Mobapad vs Nyxi. I had to swoop on the mobapad. And tell you what, I love them a lot better than the NYXI. I love the clicky and the response is a lot better. I find myself playing my switch more now. Especially with RDR, they work perfectly.
@@vulcanvulcan2963(if it matters to anyone) i emailed them a little bit ago asking if they had any plans to do other colorways and they responded back that they do. i hope they’re legit because id definitely buy if they had black or dark blue
Now that I have the Mobapad M6S. The Hori Compact's dpad is honectly in a whole different dimension. Tier F versus tier S. Mobapad are unusable for platformers or tetris or lumines. Whereas the Split Pad Compact has the best Dpad.
Split pad compact would be so much better with rumble. Hori has the official Nintendo license yet all their controllers lack rumble, and somehow Mobapad was able to implement the HD rumble and Hori still nothing. I know some people don’t care but for me it’s a big deal.
Could you do a direct comparison between the mobapad and the nexigo gripcon gen 3? Once Switch 2 gets announced and SWOLED prices start dropping more, I'm going to buy a SWOLED tablet only and get that modchipped. Then I want to get the ultimate controls for it.
QUESTION - I have the app and i cant find away to map the face buttons from the right joycon to the left joycons back paddle? I didnt think it was possible but you said it was using the app but i cant seem to find away todo that (although half the app is still in chinese charcters so maybe I missed something) Also they are amazing joycons, they might actually replace my mobapad Chitu as my main controller option when docked and I had thought the chitu was the peak of switch input options Tip, I swapped out the right analouge stick with one from the chitu as well as the chitu's circular dpad which sits at a wierd angle since its not designed with this controller in mind but it feels more egonomic to me because of that
oh! that would be nice, i recently bought a tomtoc split pad fit case and knowing if the mobapad m6 hd fits in too would give peace to my mind and wallet 😅
@@raiden64_ nope, if you align it properly inside then it’s a perfect fit. Sometimes when you have the dish dpad it may press the buttons a little but only if not placed correctly.
I’m hesitant to get the M6 HD because as soon as I get one, they’ll probably come out with new colors. That’s usually my luck with these kinds of things
they will most likely just sell different color faceplates to swap out. Maybe different color buttons and thumbsticks as well. Everything on its face is modular and can easily be swaped out.
Unfortunately I can only comment on my particular units that have had zero issues but for the thousands being made etc. I couldn't say unfortunately. My units feel very premium Vs most other brands I've tested however
I really want to pull the trigger on these but not enough reviewers have gotten their hands on them. This is the only consistent channel I’ve found cover in them. Then on online forums I keep hearing these have terrible quality controls with buttons not working or breaking after a few days.
I’ve got a couple pairs of them! I’ve had them since before there were any RU-vid videos about them at all. One thing I’ll say is you really really have to be on board with the clicks mechanical switches on everything. It’s quite noisey and takes some getting used to. Also, the buttons have an unnecessary amount of travel for being mechanical. They’re just too “tall” in my opinion. Other than those couple of things they’re super solid. Good ergonomics and feature complete.
I just bought the M6 HD and in my opinion, it is that good but. You need to adjust yourself and realize that even though this use micro switch the feeling is not the same as the moue micro switches ones. It is great especially on d-pad and ABXY comparing to membrane but im feeling that its different. Not as squishy and sometimes it can scare me as i thought that the switch is broken. But its fine its just too light comparing to mouse. And do remember this is a product from aliexpress which is notorious to be hard to claim RMA. BUT, its still a great “joy-con pro” replacement as it offers real HD rumble (its that good after i tried first party game). And its just give new experience to the controller use for someone like me that used to believe official products are better than oem. Ps. Please someone make something like this that is compatible with playstation as my main console is still a PS4 ;)
As much as the Mobapad M6s seem better in just about every way, I think the Horis might be a better choice for my 7 and 5 year old boys. 95% of what they care about seems to be the cool designs!
@@Krb68691 oh okay but what if I want the Hori splitpad compacts ? Yes the mobapad m6 HDS are great but the thing is I only shop on Amazon. And I don’t alternatives that are on Amazon like the nyxi joycons too big for me. I do have the mobapad Chitu HD
Hey thanks for reference for this joypad, im still using joycon when first i buy switch oled and i have no trouble with drifting, i like the og because it compact and have feature for the switch it self, but i still confuse at least since i bought the switch about 3rd party joycon like iine, nyxi, many youtuber says hori was good but lack of features, at my country many said omelet is good but looks bulky for my hand, and the viral ones nitro deck, i love how compact is it but at my country a price is not worth it, because taxes make it double price. and than your content landing at me, compare many joypad with mobapad and for first time i heard this product. first saw it wow how compact is it and i like the hd rumble from switch. after watching your content bout this one and compare with the other. thats make me sure ill buy 3rd party joycon for the first time, and got discount from your code and the price is good with taxes. Thanks
A new joycon has appeared... The new Coiorvis joycons with "HD vibration, mechanical key and Hall rocker." Yeah, they don't have a real name, and they have an older model that resembles the mobapad m6 gemini.
Everything is better than Hori. The audacity of that company to ask for 70 CAD (plus taxes) for joycon replacements which are just controllers with better buttons and no other features of a joycon.
-.- I wish they didn't make the A button droop with the contour. I HATE when controllers do that. They got everything else perfect and then went and ruined it.
You think the Mobapads would work with the tomtoc split pad compact case for the switch? I've got on but if the M6's worked with that I think it's convince me to buy them seeing as I've already got a case at the ready
for what it’s worth, if you are in the U.S you can order your mobapad m6 right now to be shipped with a custom mobapad carrying case which is form fitted to the m6 hd/s perfectly. the case is only like a 10$ up charge too just ordered mine with one!
Question! I watched ur other videos on the m6 hd but idk if u were clear on this: can i map a button on the left joycon onto the right back button? Also isnt these type of alternative joycon videos very repetitive and boring to make since its basically the same thing every time?
Is anyone else having issues with the Rumble feature on the M6 HD’s? Mine seem to rumble on and off when my switch is in sleep mode which drains my battery a decent amount. And the rumble feature is flat out broken when playing Zelda ocarina of time on Nintendo online.
great review again, The two "Joy cons" I am looking for are the Mobapad M6 HD and the Coiorvis HD. I seem to only see it here in china, but It looks extremely similar to Mobapad ( to the point I think it is either a clone, the original, or a badge switch) The only difference I see is there is no non HD version, and there are no extra face plates. They have a black pair and white pair.
it's funny you're the second person today to mention Coiorvis, until now I hand't heard of them. Like you I can only find them in China and they do look identical to the Mobapad. I would guess that it is a name slap (white label). But I am going to try and source them. it would make a great video!
for sure! all I can see right now, are the mobapad anti friction ring, no hexegon plates, and it seems the hand grip on both the hori compact on mobapad are thicker, and it has no back buttons and slightly weird trigger setup which you will showcase the best. I look forward to your review, I just got my cois and absolutely love it.l@@128KB
I got the big chunky Hori ones as soon as they came out and I love them ! My only complain is that they don't have gyro ... but anything else is great ! I love that they are so chunky and confortable and also super light ! I can play for extended amount of time without feeling tired by the weight and that's a HUGE plus for me.
I haven't used them for emulators, but they pair to a pc just fine. Used them for ship of harkinian and they work exactly the same as regular joycons gyro and all.
