I don't even need a blower and I wanna buy one now just cus your video was so good. Hands down the best review I have ever seen in my life period. Stand up job
This is by far the best blower review out there, even though it was uploaded 3-14-17 & today is 4-25-19. . . I showed this video to my wife and she was laughing at how fun it was. She is Chinese...😁 CONTINUE READING BELOW 👍 I decided to buy this blower the EGO 530 based on this review, AND BOY WAS I HAPPY I DID! THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST BLOWER FOR THE AVERAGE CONSUMER... 😜👍 The lowest setting says the battery will last for 45 minutes & on the highest setting while PRESSING THE TURBO BUTTON.. I have gotten over 10 minutes of pure TURBO POWER 😀😀😀 Also I might add this thing is so strong that MOST OF THE TIME, you only need it on the highest setting ( without pressing the turbo button) and it will handle pretty much anything you throw at it. 😀 THE BATTERY LIFE IS AWESOME! - - I REPEAT AWESOME! - - This is the last blower you will ever need (until they make a more powerful one with longer battery life 😋)
Stoked my review helped you make your decision - and even better yet you found the review enjoyable (probably laughing at me). I liked your comment so much that I pinned it to the top of the comments list - Good work!
I bought an Ego blower about a month ago. I love it. I have the 2.5 amp, but since I have their lawnmower- and for that matter a few other Ego products- I can run the 5 amp battery in it if I need too. I'm not sure if that battery converts my $199 blower into the $329 blower or not. I can also just use the other batteries if I need to use it longer.
Kite Army I want to get a cordless blower to blow out water from crack and crevices on the car. What blower would you recommend to get the job done instead of having to buy a actual detailing blower for three times the price?
I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ru-vid.comUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.
Appears that Ego is winner, however that power and long run time comes a a price. Appears that there batteries only last a bout a year and stop working. And you can't get warranty support. So how much is a $200 battery replacement going to cost you over time? Food for thought! Great Test!
A great video. The EGO battery powered products are truly a Great bang for the buck with quality. My experience is 25+years as a owner for Lawn Equipment ( I sold the dealership in 2018 / the price was right ). This Marine was always honest with my customers; so, when they saw and asked me about the Stihl Battery Products at the store; I had to be upfront on my opinion because it is about " People before Profits; " thus I would recommend the " EGO Battery Products. " Example: the Stihl BGA 85 with AP300 battery and charger is @ $549.85 vs an EGO with battery and charger @ $ 300.00....OH YEA!
Awesome review Andrew! Thanks for sharing. Love how you did the beach balls. May I ask, what is the name of the song you played in the background...the answer is in the wind? Btw, I thought that was a great fitting song.
This comment is a little late for this video, but just wanted to mention that today I bought the Greenworks 60 volt 540 cfm blower you showed in the video, in a combo that included a string trimmer, 4AH battery, and charger, for $199. from Lowes. I had already bought a phenomenal Greenworks 60 volt brushless 16 inch chain saw, including a 2AH battery and charger, for $99 around 6 months ago. The Greenworks blower may not be the best one in the test, but I tested it when I got home today and it's plenty strong for anything I need it for. More importantly to me, for $300 I got a 16 inch brushless chainsaw , the 540 cfm brushless blower, a 2 speed, variable trigger string trimmer, 4 AH and 2 AH batteries and 2 chargers, and everything is warranted for 4 years. I don't doubt the EGO's capabilities, but it would cost me as much, or more, for that top model you tested as what I paid for all of the Greenworks equipment I picked up, so it was a matter of priorities for me. These Greenworks products were bought at sale prices from Lowes, so what I paid doesn't reflect normal retail pricing. To make the pricing even better, since I'm retired military, I got an additional 10% discount, so the price for everything I bought was $270, plus tax.
Even though the EGO 5amp clearly won, it is way too heavy for most women. Choose the EGO 2.5 amp for a light weight blower. It has a lot of power. You won't be disappointed!!
Cheryl Noname if you're still there, I use the EGO blower with 5 amp hour battery to round up the leaves, and clean the sidewalk on my large corner lot. (165 feet of sidewalk) I even use it to clear snow from the walks, driveway, and patio if it's only an inch or two of light dry snow. Much faster and easier than shoveling or sweeping. It's great for blowing snow from my solar panels too. The way to make it easier for a lady senior citizen like me is to use the optional shoulder strap. It helps to have extra batteries too, which I do.
I just bought my dad a dewalt 20v 90mph 5ha. He loves it. I used it today to blow garage, driveway n front yard. Still holding a full charge. I got $139. I love it too. I don’t see myself ever using electric one we own at all anymore.
After a long time of browsing vids, I come across yours that not only provided the best comparison but was entertaining as well. Makes you feel good watching this. Now, let's hope an EGO sale happens soon in Australia.
Well I probably didn't purchase the right one, but I went with the EGO 615 and Love it! It's heavy but I purchased a shoulder strap separately and plenty powerful for me!!😁
You helped me out with my decision.👍🏻Thanks I am only buying one to dry my car off so the green works will be fine. I will actually get the 40v 150mph 🤷🏼♂️
Fantastic demo: thorough, unbiased, reasonably scientific (without getting bogged down in tech language), very visual and entertaining. A hard combination to achieve. Of the (many) video comparisons I've seen, yours easily takes the cake. You've provided a great service. One note I'd make is that the air pressure supporting the balls is an exponential function of distance (I think ...). Every inch of additional height a blower held a ball represents MORE than just a linear increase in power. In other words, if the EGO 56v 5Ah blower held the ball at 4 feet and most others were 3 feet, I'm quite sure the EGO is MORE than just 33% more powerful. It may well be 50% - 75% more powerful. It would take an aeronautics or fluid dynamics expert to verify, but that's the idea. On the other end of the spectrum, the anemic 'little Ryobi that could' is probably even more underpowered than its ball height indicated - in which case, even though it had an acceptable run time, it wouldn't be useful to anyone except for the most modest homeowner needs. I'm curious: do you know if it's the CFM or MPH that is most responsible for ball height?
This is a proper review video! Great to cut right to the bottom of the printed numbers on the boxes and find out how they stack up. I need a blower and this helped a lot!
Great Video. Just what I was looking for. We have a new 0.6 acre yard. There is a forest right on the property line of the backyard, with some trees overhanging the lawn. We have a number of new trees, that will take years to grow to the point where leaves will be an issue. Would the Ego 5.0a work well in this situation?
I’ve used the Ego 575cfm along with their mower and trimmer for 2 years. Ego builds a solid product. No issues with the equipment or batteries. This video made me laugh out loud. Very entertaining, great comparison for us average users that aren’t interested in the most finite technical details.
Another reason why I went with Echo is because I already own a battery powered string trimmer that uses that battery and it basically is identical to their gas trimmers that’s how they started it by removing the gas motor off existing trimmer and putting a battery motor on to it I have an echo gas trimmer’s for years and I love it
All these companies count on you staying with a brand based on the batteries. I do not like the Echo blower that I tested - though I have never tested a Echo string trimmer
If you use different brands the battery for one tool won’t fit another and for a contractor that’s a major hassle that rule applies to any tool with a battery.
Watched it from my deck but enjoyed seeing the edited version. You never gave a price on your neighbors black and decker 40 volt, I'm kind of interested in that one. Great review!!
I wasnt sure what to expect of this video but man that was cool! You had to find the perfect day that wasnt too windy to do that. Nice job bud. Very entertaining.
It performs very well indeed i was actually surprised! I would like to see whats inside the ego and echo to compare the quality of craftsmanship. That is actually what i was searching for when i found your channel, that may give us some indication of the longevity of these products.
Another thing that comes to mind is the fact that most of these batteries are very similar in the fact that they all use 3.7 cells and usually the same amount for there given amp rating. That leads me to believe the performance difference has a lot to do with aerodynamics and the efficiency of the motor. Im curious to see if that is noticeable if they were opened up.
I had the echo blower for a couple of days and it was ok at best. it seemed cheep and you could clearly see the wires in it and it had an ear piercing sound to it. I now have the ego 530 CFM 110mph and love it so far. and home depot has a sale going on it right now with the battery and charger and everything for $180. great bang for the buck.
Awesome review and production! I have a Greenworks blower and really like it especially the turbo button. But I have an Ego 7.5 amp battery mower and an Ego 2.5 amp battery easy feed carbon fiber shaft trimmer which I LOVE both. Been wanting to get the 5 amp battery Ego blower just to keep batteries and chargers all the same. You think it’s worth going to Ego blower or just keep the Greenworks blower?
Hi Andrew, Great video. I am thinking of getting the EGO snowblower with the 7.5 Ah batteries and interchanging the batteries with the 575 CFM blower. How do the 5.0 and 7.5 Ah batteries compare (run time and weight) when used in the blower? Would you recommend going with the 5.0 AH battery so that the weight is manageable in the blower or sticking with the 7.5 AH so that I get a longer run time for the snowblower? Appreciate your time in putting this video together and value your opinion.
Hello Marc, That's a real mouthful. Let me try my best here. First off I would suggest saving some money and go for the Ego handheld 535 blower. I think it's available for $179. That will of course include the 2.5Ah. I personally feel that is a good match for the leaf blower - weight to power. Now if your also going to get the Ego snow blower, you have to consider how much snow you get and where you live. I have about a 40ft driveway and get about 50" a year and the 5AH is perfect. If i need more I drop in my 2.5Ah. Now if your loaded go with the 7.5Ah snow blower but I still suggest the 2.5Ah for the leaf blower - the larger batteries get too heavy. Hope that helps....
WOW! Fantastic review my friend! You put a lot of time, energy, effort, humor and creativity in this review! Thank you for this awesome video... I will definitely share it with my friends. I LOVED the beach ball use!!!! So cool!
Not, if you like having decent tools. All the other brands either don't have tools at all, or have crappy ones associated with them. So you're literally paying all that cost just for that use case or a few other. With dewalt you're paying that price, but have the flexability to use a boat load of prosumer tools for home use or professional use.
This has got to be one of the coolest and most uplifting and funniest video of a consumer report ive ever see!!"Take your blower and get out of here!"LOL had me laughing and smiling the whole time
Kite Army after just getting around to buy one of the ego self-propelled lawn mowers I agree with you ego is the way to go stihl has some catching up to do at least in the homeowner Market
Ryobi has a turbo button which increases output when you need more power. My question is were you using the turbo mode? If not I wonder if you could do a follow up comparing how high the ball goes and how much quicker the battery dies. Thanks and great video.
5:19.... when you measured the Kobalt it was about 2 ft lower at that point then it was less than a few seconds earlier it was much higher it was actually just behind the highest ego and at the second highest point then you measured it and it was two feet lower right after you measured it it went back up so it's flawed.... for the money the DeWalt and the Kobalt are your best bet the Kobalt was only about a foot under the high-priced ego and it lasted fairly long with excellent power the DeWalt lasted practically as long as the ego not as much power but it was consistent for a long time at two hundred bucks a piece the Kobalt and they DeWalt are the best value.... Imo...
The EGO is $179 - Given price and performance - EGOs my brand! Also keep in mind that most people have not tested over 25 blowers like me - so mine is not an opinion it is experience.
Someone should teach you how watt hours works for when you make statements concerning battery size. It’s pretty basic, volts x amp hours gives the true batter capacity. I was excited to watch this but it destroyed your credibility for me.
That is an excellent link highlighting 0 (that's zero) blowers. So viewers, if you want to earn a degree in electrical engineering, I highly recommend Bradley's video. Otherwise, you have come to the right place!
Well I've had the worx 56v blower for 2 seasons now and I'm satisfied. The runtime on Turbo is 8 to 10 minutes max but you only need to use turbo when the leaves are wet stuck to the ground other than that normal setting is good enough. But I also have another battery. Which I've had to use occasionally and I have a medium/small sized yard.
Damn good review! Best I've seen so far on RU-vid. Your video made me laugh! Thank you for that. It was funny, entertaining but informative. I've been looking at battery powered blowers and you have convinced me on the Ego blower. That thing is expensive but quality cost. Again, thank you Sir! You are a one man Review! Keep em coming!
I recently just bought the Ego 5 Amp. That thing is amazing. I also have a Worx lower end blower (it's really only good for sweeping the deck, sidewalk, & driveway. It weighs nothing, my wife can use it, and it's effective for really light duty). In addition, I have Toro's top end corded blower (it has a vacuum function which mulches and bags leaves. I use that for getting leaves out of the area way and it's so -so in the mulch beds because it's hard to get just the leaves). Anyway, the Ego 5 A has completely changed things. It's as powerful as the Toro. It can blow wet leaves with ease. There's also a turbo mode that jacks up wind force using a momentary switch. This video was the inspiration that gave me confidence to go with a battery operated blower. A few things that you can't really fathom until you use it. First, the sheer volume of air makes a huge difference. Just feathering the trigger on the deck clears out leaves in a wide swath - deck, pavement, even the lawn in spots. You could go with lower power much of the time and the battery run time is unlimited for all practical purposes. I have a half acre, of which half is wooded - generates a lot of leaves. I hung out a window and blew off a lower roof, then the deck, back porch, and patio, then sidewalk and driveway. Then my wife blew leaves from around the yard into piles for me to mulch with the mower. Then I needed it to clean off the driveway again. I never got a sense that the battery was taxed, but I did this in one charge, and it recharged fairly quickly - so I assumed I had plenty of charge left. I was not sparing on the trigger (not nursing for battery life), but got plenty of work done with lighter pulls when appropriate. Just can't explain how much air volume this generates at low speed. My Worx 20v says "120 MPH," but it's aperture is much smaller. It's all about CFM. That 120 MPH (or whatever I really get) takes 2-3 times longer to sweep, and really can't do anything else. Although my wife can handle the Ego, it's much more unwieldy for her, so not a go to for just a deck sweep, but easy enough for her when she's helping me in the yard.
WOW - that's how i felt when i first used the EGO. Cordless yard tools have come a looong way. You're right about the weight it is a bit difficult for my wife to use too.
Great video and just in time because my girlfriend and I were at Home Depot and Lowes earlier today looking at these machines. I didn't know that EGO had a big one like this. Thanks for your hard work and time!!
Thanks Gary. Yes I just released a string trimmer video. Lots to choose from in the field, but my personal favorites are the EGO, Worx and Milwaukee. Here's the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-83zBPRKDyuM.html
Wow! Ask and ye shall receive! Haha. I don't think that has every happened! Haha. Thanks again! You have a great channel. Hope you're making so good money for all of your hard work.
Very good side by side comparison! Great to see this and even better it confirms that our EGO products are superior products! Thank You for doing this! We are happy that we choose to sell the best product!
I am only looking at blowers because I drive reefer trailers and instead of always stopping and waiting in long lines at truck washes or sweeping the whole trailer out,I'm looking at blowers, comparing battery charged vs corded. I think the Bauer is powerful at a decent price point and shouldn't take me 9 minutes to blow broken pallet debris out of a 53ft trailer & I don't have to worry about having 100ft cord with me.
Thank YOU for the comparison review!!! I bought a WORKX 40-Volt battery operated blower and am very pleased! Easy to operate. Very ergonomic. Video review on my channel. Also bought the WORKX weed whacker& trimmer which is an excellent performer (Also reviewed on my channel).
Just curious if you have tested the sthil BGA 100 yet? Curious how that would stack up against the Ego? Battery life (with the new AP 300 vs 5.0Ah)? The stihl claims more mph (168 vs 145) but less cfm (580 vs 494) I believe. The ego also claims 168mph but that's with the reducer on it, so what's the CFM with the reducer on it? Maybe they're exactly the same when the reducer is on? The biggest difference would be the price. The Ego is a lot cheaper when you consider $299 vs $349 W/O a battery. Any thoughts/info?
Absolutely the best video review on cordless blowers. That Ego blower could handle my 1/2 acre wooded lot if it had a backpack battery for extended life.
Some of the balls stay at a steady height while others go up and down a lot (i.e. greenworks). You didn't really talk to that at all, but I would think that matters. Any thoughts?
Yeah - that is why I love this test. This is not something that you would necessarily noticed when using but it would have an impact when moving leaves. BTW I did an update to this video
Outstanding job my friend! Already own the ego w/ 2.5 amp battery so now I I’m looking for a 5 amp battery for more power+run time. Loved the choice of music and the annoying neighbor with the girlie blower😂😂
You get an A+ for your effort and enthusiasm. Also surprised the balls even were able to do that. It takes me a lot longer than 10 mins to do my "blowing" yard work around my place. One thing you might have included is a DB meter test to compare sound levels. My biggest fear is the manufacturers will change designs and you'll never get a replacement battery in a few years making your 2 or 3 hundred dollar blower junk. You can get a nice 7 amp corded blower for $30.00 from Lowes. Mine just broke after 18 years only because of a short in the cord.
Only 18 years - JUNK :) All you comments are true -that being said my lawn would cost me over 1k to get landscaped a year, so I treat myself to the best and most convenient equipment. At the end I'm still ahead and I don't have to worry about cords or gas.
Best tool comparison of any I've ever seen anywhere on the interweb!!! I'd like to know - how did you get all these tools??? Surely you didn't buy them all. Maybe you said somewhere within this test. If so - I missed it. ANyway - great job. Do more stuff like this!
Id like to hear more of the greenworks pro 540cfm vs the EGO 530 cfm. I like this weright and power size but surprisingly the green works beat the ego in lasting time. The Ego 540 has a weird speed dial that requires your other hand. Green works is a one hand operation for all speed power variations. Both are the same price oct 2020. I dont want the heavier more cfm of either brand.
I love your excitement lol I like my Ryobi power tools but this convinced me to avoid the blower. I bought the cheaper version years ago when I had a super small yard, and it still works but I’ll be getting a better blower soon. Thanks for the great video!
KA, I had to share this video on my Channel, this was absolutely the BEST COMPARISON VIDEO ever made on Leaf Blowers, I loved it, and I totally Agree, the EGO is the Best, and the 530 had the smallest Battery amp, but with the 4 amp Battery, it really is an awesome Blower too... : )
Thanks for the compliment. That is a great question about what lifts the balls. I would only be guessing, but I believe that it is a combination of the 2. I would love to hear from someone smarter than me on that.
I'm not going to buy an electric cordless blower but it was an awesome comparison. That's what got my attention. Dude you put forth a lot of effort for this .I hope it was worth it.
Hands down the best consumer review channel on youtube. Let help this man grow his channel with likes and subscribe so we have more epic shit to watch!
The height you were measuring pressure but negated CFM which is just as important if not more so. Then you measure runtime which is all about the battery size, has nothing to do with the blower mechanism. That is like buying a car based on top speed and range. So would you buy a sports car with a huge gas tank? What about ease-of-use, inclusion of a fast smart charger, the quality of the product, reliability and manufacture taking care of warranty issues? Nice video, at least I got some enjoyment to be out of it. Thank you!
