The biggest advantage of this card is that it doesn’t have rigid monthly milestones and requirement of a certain minimum number of transactions like MRCC
Biggest challenge with Amex (I speak as an amex user) is that most retailers and e-commerce players don’t accept AMEX cards. You need to have a Visa backup card. Card points are only useful if you can actually swipe the card.
@@sandyg7952 4Lac in a year is easy to achieve if you have monthly expenses around 34K which I do on credit card by charging the Amazon pay wallet, eating out, groceries and biggest expense of them all is tuition fees. It's easier for me to achieve 4lac
To be realistic lets do a calculation based on the actual scenario and not the best cases. I usually use credit card to make all kinds of payments including fuel, insurance etc. For all these cases you do not get any reward points hence regular reward rate which we are taking about will obviously be

i have just completed my first milestone on this card, and the total points i earned so far is 23745. and this does not include any points after joining. so in some catagories there wont be any points.. but if you use reward multiplier than it will make it up for that. and we are at least getting some value in terms of milestone calculation, which most of other cards are not providing these days.
@abhinavkesarwani26 Bro are you not using the amex giftyr to buy Amazon pay vouches and then make your insurance and utility payments.. Not only you get your regular reward points + 2x or 3x points for using the amex giftyr platform.. I think you are missing on these rewards.. Do research and try this method
Damn, I didn't know about calling for additional reward points. It only took like 5 mins to reflect on the app once they were credited. But quite a silly requirement, this.

Love your content, Pranay. Got into the Amex world seeing your videos, excited to see more content regarding the best deals for Bonvoy points or potential to use them in other ways. It's quite beneficial to convert them to virgin Atlantic points too, I think you can get a very sizeable discount. I saw somewhere that Mumbai London return flights are only 20k virgin points + taxes that you have to pay. Any other strategies of where we could use these points?
I had this card almost 10 years ago but closed it as I already had AMEX Gold charge card and Amex Rewards card, which I continue to hold even now. But i use my Infinia and Diners black card most of the time.
One card ( life time free ) Groceries 10% value back reward points from 1 aug ( earlier 12-14% ) Reliance fresh / Reliance smart point / dmart / star fresh bazar etc Inox / Cinepolis/ PVR 30% cashback Apollo pharmacy 15% earlier ( 25-28% ) Forever wellness same as apollo Electronics 10% at croma/ Vijay sales / reliance digital etc Food 10% cashback at mcd burger king Starbucks dominos pizza hut etc etc Shopping 10% at Westside/ Zudio / max / fashion factory / Skechers / puma / decathlon / pantaloons etc etc And many more..... no one can beat it.
Although this value backs ( cashbacks ) are capped per transaction you can avail them multiple times at different outlets 3 times at each store in a month@@pranayk37 I have been personally saving 3-5k per month as per my usage. But now from 1 aug onwards they have cut down cashback on few categories n increased in other categories ( pvr / Inox / Cinepolis )30% earlier it was 10-15%
Get them all with those spends 😂 Jokes apart, Amex platinum travel for first 4 lacs, sbi or idfc vistara card which has milestone benefits upto 8/9 lacs to give you a bunch of premium economy tickets. Amex mrcc is also a good option upto 2.4 lacs per annum. Can also get axis atlas for milestone benefits

I’ve been using Amex MR card for 5 years. I keep getting emails for upgrade to platinum travel card. However, I don’t do 5-star hotel stays. I mostly use the rewards multiplier platform to buy coupons from Amazon, Uber, etc… so does it make sense for me to upgrade? My overall yearly spends are like close to 6L on the Amex MR card

Hi Pranay, I have AmazonPay cc for shopping and Airtel Axis for utilities and groceries. Looking for a card that can offer great benefits on travel and hotels. Also if I can maximise on rent, fuel, dining, lounge, insurance premiums, subscriptions and Govt spends/taxes with the card, it would be great... My annual spends are between 5-7lpa Confused between Amex Gold, mrcc, platinum travel and hdfc diners black. Which one do you think would be better? Would love to hear from you... I'm open to having more than 2 of these cards or any better card if you can suggest. Thanks!

yes should count, once you get the card, just call up amex and double check please? But most likely it will count towards milestone benefits, might not count for base rewards

@@pranayk37 Yeah makes sense, SBI cashback caps at 5k per month while with Amex Platinum I can get more returns on my travel spends and they don’t expire so I can plan with no rush.

See I don’t travel that much and even if I do taj hotel is not present everywhere nor is Marriott so my 10,000 TAJ is defeated going to waste and Marriott points will also be almost useless as I don’t travel
for redemption, the 0.5 value is mostly on very less items max are of 0.25, now say a person is not eager to stay on taj, he is a budget traveller, he would save more, then just to get best redemption value he would have to purchase marriot or taj stay.. not on basic necessity items
If you’re judicious about choosing merchants, you can get value as high as Rs 2 per point. Coming Thursday- a video coming up on how we used these points to get good value

Yes you can. While filling the application, put your aadhar address in the residential address and your current address in your office address field. When it asks you where you want to get your card delivered, opt for your office address.
It's 7.5K bonus points at 1.9L milestone and 10K bonus points at 4L milestone. That's what I have. How are you getting 40K points? Can you tell in detail about the call thing?
Total is 40k points after 4 lacs including the points you get at 1.9L milestone. At 1.9L, you get 15k points (7.5+7.5k on calling amex) and at 4L you get 25k points (10k+ 15K on calling amex). 15K + 25K = 40K
I pay my kids school fees using this card and i get the regular points for txn 🎉 I can easily achive 4L per milestone only by paying the tuition fees 😅

that's cash value which is the absolute minimum value. you can get much higher value -- see my last episode where anmol was able to get value of Rs. 3 per point for his stay in Norway and a value of 1.7 per point for Business class flights to Norway.. 0.5 is probably on the conservative side for the purpose of the calculation
SBI charges 199 + taxes for rental payments apart from rent portal charges, better to use BharatNxt application and transfer money from any bank's credit card.
First year free is no longer there, instead higher points (12k) are being given. Good value against the fee and still a good deal. Detailed video coming up next week
@@pranayk37 I just called AMEX CC . They said that its not available on AMEX Platinum Travel Card. By the way , I am also a fan of this card ,holding it since 4 yrs now.

I took a Amex Platinum credit card. But eventually found that my ICICI credit card is more powerful than the Amex card. I am not exaggerating. That's the truth.
