THANK YOU MS. ALEA FOR YOUR COMMENT ABOUT THE ERGONOMIC HOOKS & TODAY I GOT A PRYM HOOK IN A H SIZE & THE HOOK FITS MY HAND BEAUTIFULLY & I'M ALSO A COLLECTER OF FURLS TOO & THEY'RE ALSO GREAT ON MY HANDS AS WELL SO THANK YOU & HAPPY CROCHETING .🎉🎉🎉🎉
My favorite are the Clover hooks. Furls and others have nickel coats or nickel in them. As someone allergic to nickel, my hand goes numb when I use them.
Hi, thank you for doing such a nice video on one of my favorite subjects. I love reviews of crochet hooks. I have child size hands so I prefer the clover, amorous, and tulips. The longer hooks you’re very awkward in my hands. I agree with you that the cloversglides through the yarn. I think they are my favorite.
I used a couple of the ergonomic Boyes and liked the way it felt, but I felt like the length from the hook to the start of the handle was too short. I also do prefer an inline… I honestly didn’t like the Clover 🙊🫣 I like the feel of the yarn sliding on the metal- super smooth but not too much?- but just overall… meh… I think maybe they feel too short to me? Which doesn’t make sense because I have small hands! 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve never tried a Tulip! But is it really that much different from the clover…? It just looks super similar to me… I like the Prym but I can only use them with slippery yarn like you mentioned because I can’t stand the squeak! 😵💫 (Even if I can’t hear it, I can FEEL it… 🤪) The Furls I LOVE. I have a knife hold and hold my hooks loosely, close to the end of the handle. I might actually like the streamline better than the Odyssey? Except that I only have the resin and wood, which I love! But not for EVERY yarn, you know? My husband may or may not have ordered (but definitely did order) a couple of the metal streamlines for me for Christmas, last month when they were discounted… 😱 I have a feeling they’re gonna be my absolute FAVORITE. 😍
I can't use the Prym hook. It hurts my wrist. I think it is because the neck / shaft is too long and I am holding the hook too low. I have never bought a Furls. The one's I have wanted are always out of stock. My favorite is the Clover Amour hooks.
I kept seeing Prym rated highly so I treated myself to one to christmas, and it doesn't work for me. I realized it's too long for my hands. I'm glad to see I'm not alone, and I'm going to try your recommendation now.
Hello, thanks for this video. Do you know when the Furls Odyssey hooks will be back on the market. I want to try and buy but they are no where to be found!
I am not sure when their next restock is. I do know that they are currently experiencing a supply shortage so they are being restocked sporadically. I got mine second hand.
They just restocked last sienna odyssey still have 4 different sizes available. I made sure I got most all sizes because you never know when they will restock. Sign up for their emails
I don't understand the hype for the Furls. They simply don't fit well in the hand, are not well weighted, and put strain on the lower finger joints of the ring and little finger when gripping like a knife. The Odyssey also contains nickel. Other than that, the price is outrageous. Only the blue Tulip needles are more expensive than the Odyssey. And they were aimed for collectors, not crocheters. For thick yarn I mainly use the Prym ergonomics and Clover, for thinner yarn I use Tulip and Clover and for very fine crocheting I only use Tulip. I have the pink and red tulip needles in all sizes.
Hello thank you for your comment! I agree, Furls hooks depending on how you hold your hooks can be difficult to get comfortable with. Over time I have really grown to love them. I love Clover, Tulip, and Prym! I switch them out regularly depending on my project and type of yarn I use as well!
