Can't beat a dachshund or two or three..had them all my life..I'm 63 now with extremely poor mobility so just can't walk a dog so its not fair on them so I just cannot have one..but they are wonderful dawgs and I would reccomend them to anyone who is prepared to give them the excercise and stimulation they need..people think because they have short legs they don't need excercise..WRONG and that causes problems because lack of excercise and stimulation can make them bored abd destructive..they are intelligent dogs and working dogs .hunting badger mainly..Dachshund means Badgerhound in German..they are fiercly loyal..mine bit the ankle of a burglar..!! And have a deep resonant bark.. they are also cuddlebugs that will do anything for a cuddle..can be trained but you have to persevere because they can be stubborn..please do NOT let them climb up like that puppy did on the sofa..not good for their backs..I never had any issue with any of mine..but that was good breeding and making sure they could get onto the sofa etc using steps or a ramp..dont take any chances..mine were always friendly with other dogs and my cats..actually the cats ruled the house..as the saying goes dogs have owners..cats have servants ..I have given you a truthful opinion good and not so good traits..but would I have another if I could walk them YES DEFINITELY..🇬🇧💞✝️🙏👍👏👏🐕🐾
