I started playing darts again and went and bought 21 darts in a jar for £19.99. There 23 grams, not very fat, easy get 3 in a treble,, and they work for me. Got a friend who plays serious darts to try them and he liked them thought they were well balanced. Only problem was the stems and flights were rubbish so had to replace them, but still a bargain. In the past I used to lose my darts occasionally so these are a bonus in that respect
Great Video, have been waiting for it all day long. 😀 You said the John Lowes are one of your favorites of all time, would love to see a video of you all time favorites!
Thanks David, yeah the Lowes were but when I lost my natural throw they did not work so good as before so now I dont really know what my all time fave is, guess the Lowes are still high because of the nostalgia effect though :)
Great vid!!! Any chance you could do a 3 part series? Each episode could be top 10 for each grip preference, front, mid, rear. Keep up the great videos man!
Thanks mate! Not a bad idea but as I am not a true middle or rear gripper I would only be guessing based on my own thoughts so not sure how valid it would be :)
I've been thinking about the Harrows Spina darts since your review. They seem similar to the Verve's you sent me in that the barrel shape and balance seem similar but with more grip. I'm still amazed at how well the 23 gram Verve's work for me as I've always thrown John Lowe/Phil Taylor style darts in 26 to 28 grams in the past. I would have never bought them on my own. Thanks again. My only wish is that they had more grip. Hopefully the Spina's will fit the bill.
I think it was me who suggested this type of yearly review video on the dartsnutz forum a few years back. I've not seen a penny of the huge adsense it has generated.
love the top ten vids and a lot of my sets are bought after watching your reviews .. got 2 sets in the top ten the oracles and the super true whites and I really like the oracles after playing with them for a while.. not sure about the hippy trance mind!! keep up the great work Darren great stuff
Thanks Iain! The Oracles just seem to keep calling me back and the more I played with them the better they felt but then the Predator went and threw confusion in by been good too lol Cheers! :)
Thank you for your review and recommend of the harrows predator darts. Not sure if it's the darts or the extra practice in quarantine but my scoring has gone up significantly and I love these darts and would highly recommend. I went with 25 gram but thinking I should of went 24 but too late now
Seems to happen a lot with pros darts these days, they charge a lot as they know people still buy them but maybe £30 to £40 at most is more realistic price.
problem is the prices change so its only relevant closer to the time of posting. Also prices around the world are different which is why I only put them on the review at the time of doing the reviews. But I may add some info like that on my next list :) Cheers! :)
Nice List Darren I Like The Rob Cross Darts On This List And I Also Like The Designa Dark Thunder Darts And Dark Thunder’s Look Very Close To Anderson Phase 3 Noir And The Unicorn Phil Taylor Phase 1
Nice video as always Darren! My favorites are the Spina, as a rear-gripper theire just awesome to throw and they look beautiful too. Im so hyped up for youre following reviews coming this year, keep it up!
Yeah its a great dart and very nearly got higher on my list but I seem to struggle a little on doubles with them which is the only reason they never got higher :) Cheers! :)
LOL it was hard to decide, they kept changing places but eventually went with the Predator but had another throw of the Oracles yesterday and hit 4 100+ scores in a row so then I am confused again lol!
Good video as always Darren, surprised it was mostly straight barrelled darts. I'm currently using these, have you tried them.... www.playwiththebest.com/generation-180-95-tungsten-kyle-manton.html Basically a phase 5 dart with scalloped rear
Thanks mate, I think its just that must of the sets I reviewed last year were near straight barrels, but I think in the last couple of years I have gotten a little better at throwing them as I have still been changing things with my throw :) I have seen those darts and they look good :)
Learning to play again with the Predator 21g-great, well balanced dart, excellent grip, feel good to hold and throw. This review helped me choose them, so thank you. I feel that 21-22g is a better weight for me, and though I have the John Lowe bullet style darts which are beautiful, I am starting to prefer a simpler, thinner style grippy barrel. All your reviews are excellent and it is great to see darts close up, assess the style, see the different grips (a bewildering variety and some are pure works of art!) and how they fly! Thank you!
First of all I love the music I'm still half in a trance LOL I thought your number2 Dart what's going to be your number one I was close very good video man really enjoyed it thanks Darren
During last year i said on one of the reviews that Harrow's was making a great comeback!!!And now they are dominating your top ten!!!Great stuff mate!!!
Good video. A friend and I have both fell in love with the 19g Soft Tip Rob Cross gen 1's. Simple, cheap and very well made for the cost. I have thrown some of my best darts ever with those. I now use the new 18g Soft Tip Rob Cross black pixels. Throwing my best darts as of now thanks to those darts(andddd alot of practice :) ). Wish we had more steel around my parts here in Houston, Texas, USA. Interested to see your review on the Rob Cross Pixels.
Thanks! Sometimes simple style darts work the best, guess it depends on the individual though but the Cross Pixel grip looks too similar to the Carrera C4 (I think) and also a bit like the Lewis Pixel grip but the Pixels look to be staggered on the Cross dart, not sure it appeals to be personally though but no idea when I will get some.
May be a little while as I did not review as many sets last year due to having a break, so I may need to cheat a little and add some that I have had but not had time to review yet :)
@@DartsReviewChannel That brings another question. I feel more comfortable with middle grip but throw much better with rear grip. But I'm throwing very old bras darts so maybe with newer longer darts back grip might feel good.
I've been waiting for this post , I'd thought you'd forgot.Glad to see Harrows back up there-really would of bought most of their new range. Just got some Harrows Velos flights and they are great, I had a little fish tailing problem and they've sorted that ,they keep the dart higher in the board too. Great review as always. Also having trouble on your forum it's not recognising my email as valid ?????
I’m looking at a new set of darts and I fancy either the harrows oracle, or the winmau aspria. As a rear gripper I was wondering what your opinion would be on which darts to get?
Another great vid. I be got a young man who's trying to play with our Friday night group. He suffers from juvenile arthritis and is only able to play one day a week because it takes alot out of him. I was looking to buy the young fella a set of darts for him that might make it easier for him. He'd need a rear weighted dart barrel regular length or slightly longer because he can't close his hands. Also an extremely good grip, as again he can't really close his hands. Any dart you might have a recommendation for this particular gent? Not to sound like a cheap skate but fairly affordable as well would be great. Thanks for any input you may give, cheers
Thats a tough one as the last 9 years my throw has been changing due to injuries so I have had darts work that in the past I would not have liked so not sure I can really say until I am satisfied my throw has finally settled down :)
Yeah time goes too quick, was only last week I was going to school for the first day, lol seems like it anyway, the teacher was not too happy as I kicked her in the knee lol!
hahaha Yeah I was not too pleased at all, she held me in a bear hug but I nearly nutted her then, I thought I was been left for some reason, just had no idea what was happening.
Yeah I hated school, especially that one with the evil nun who was the headmistress, can't believe she reached her 90's, she must have been in league with the devil.
Hm...i just saw your video with cuesoul..they look good.Probably i order the darts next days and i m thinking to use tweeny stems with the std flights to see how it goes...i m not as experienced as you are but i ll try my best 😁😁😁thank you for your vailable time my friend!Keep it up!
LOL you said that before, I have no idea what its meant to be one but if it is I will take your word for it, may be the ASMR fans would like it so might have to share it to them :)
So many straight barrel sets, and then you throw in the John Lowe’s🤔 Because you have so many sets, what are your league darts? Do you just rotate through all your sets? As always I really dig your video’s. Cheers from New York.
Yeah for a long time I was not that much of a fan of straight barrel darts but I actually hit my first 2 180's with a straight barrel set and also my one and only ever triple bullseye :) Cheers! :)
