BEST DC 4K? The Flash 4K UHD Review 

I cannot understand the hate on this movie, like you I purchased the stream as I couldn’t wait for the physical copy. The picture quality is really sharp and bright, comes with extras if you have the ITunes stream, haven’t had time to check subwoofer yet as I watched it at 1am in the morning. Yes the movie isn’t perfect , yes CGI is not the best, then again Marvel hasn’t been the best in the last few years either. The problem with this movie like Black Adam they were pointless to the DCEU moving forward under James Gunn, most fans realised this and gave it a miss, plus negative word of mouth of dodgy CGI and cameos ruined what was a half decent movie. It Certainly does not deserve to be the biggest flop of the year so far.

Been waiting for your review on this. Was hoping the audio would be higher than a 8.5. Oh well i still have this preordered on steelbook.

Thanks for the review, appreciate it. The give the film itself a 7.5 - 8.5 on a scale from 1 to 10. It wasn’t perfect, but honestly, it was a fun experience for me. The definite highlights of the movie were Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl.

Middle of the road, but only because of the intense emotion arc of the movie on Ezra’s part

I watch this last night on Max, and absolutely loved the movie! I was laughing so much, that I barely paid attention to the Atmos activity, but I ordered the 4K Steelbook so I'll be rewatching soon, and pay more attention to that part of the audio.

I've got the 4K blu-ray preordered, so I'll have to wait until it arrives to weigh in. Glad to hear that the digital stream looks good though, that gives me hope that I'll enjoy the disk.

I thought HDR looked great but I watched The Flash in a dark room on an OLED.

I’m not a big DC guy but I enjoyed this a lot. Mainly because of Michael Keaton

AWEsome, can't wait to check this out. But i still dt understand why on Earth are we still having Audio problems.. Volumes being so low like what gives. Smh!!!

Apple TV (the service, not the player) has an absolute maximum ceiling of -6b. If any sound even touches -6b for a nanosecond, your entire video will get rejected. Happened to me and I had to adjust the soundtrack to get it accepted (still pending). I imagine studios just mix for the service that has the strictest peak limits and submits that everywhere it's available. I'm not sure what you mean by iTunes since iTunes technically doesn't exist any more.

DC is following the route of Marvel in ATMOS which is a big shame.

I’m glad it wasn’t just me. The dialogue seemed a bit low compared to every other sound.

3:50 I thought atmos doesn't matter how much speakers you got it treats each sound as an object......that's why we calibrate our systems? So it places the object in the correct speaker as needed........so what's with the speaker limit?

It was trash…but Ezra brought the heat with the emotions of the family dynamics that tug at our heartstrings, Michael Keaton was classic…the rest was trash…way tooo much cgi

Shane i hope you will dedicate a video to LFE output across studios and formats. It boggles me that the bass output be so different in this day and age. The consistensy with DTS Master Audio on BDs was way better. And im often blown away by the LFE tracks from those days. Some titles do have great bass but man its often the opposite. Do you really leave your LFE output at the same level always? #frustration

Since the aspect ratio is 1.90:1 does that mean it uses all the pixels on a JVC projector?

The vfx In the opening scene (and thereafter)was diabolical. His suit looks all waxy. Even the way it’s shot makes the backgrounds look off. It’s certainly the style of the director. Sound was on point though haha

Nothing to do with the review but will you be looking at the new Monitor Audio Anthra line of subwoofers specifically the W15?

I'm wondering if the shocking CGI in the speed-force scenes are and artistic choice, to differentiate it from the pretty good real world CGI, or are just simply shocking? I've seen better video game cutscene CGI.

The audio is a lot similar to Black Adam in my opinion. I had to turn it up, but boy does the bass rock. The image quality is no slouch either.

Good review , but are you getting sick of Cgi ?, i think since Avengers endgame there movies are becoming tiresome .

On a souped up QD-OLED this movie was glorious

I thought overheads were lacking but the bass was very good.

Flash was huge Disaster at Box Office.....I just watched Black Adam and that was biggest waste of my life dumbest 🙄 film I ever seen. OK the sound was good though man the garbage 🗑 is so irritating 🤯. I don't think u need English to understand.

I'm going through all the marvel movies in order. Just got to black panther and damn the atmos mix was the worst so far. I thought my system was stuffed had to go to -14DB and up my subs +4DB. Like in the car chance and explosions on screen are so big and dramatic but my suns barely doing anything.

While I'll always appreciate Shane's insight on a Plethora of topics, this movies Audio is absolute Garbage! Muted Trash just like Black Adam. Unless you "Love" the flash or fully do not care about the Audio, don't buy this.

This actually was a pretty good movie in spite of the actor being a train wreck off-screen. Speaks volumes about his acting capabilities and professionalism that he could keep it together on set. Just my impression, not really sure if he is nice on set or not. Didn't watch in the theaters because I didn't want to support Miller. This and Dial of Destiny were two of the better movies I've seen all summer, in spite of what people have said, not even sure if people watched them or they just wanted to be political or cool.
