I have Metlife insurance. My dentist wants to charge above the negotiated rates for crown work. This is the 3rd dentist that rejects doing the work for the rates set by my insurance. Although in-network, they aren't willing to do the work as they don't make the expected margins. I don't mind paying a small % above the rate but their markup is way above the negotiated rates. And the more work you give them, the more gridded they get.
Pet doctors should just find other jobs. They don’t care about healing our pets, they care about the money. $3,000 for a dang root canal on a shepherd, and that’s with a “deal.” I had a root canal done a couple of years ago for $650, with a crown. Pet doctors/dentists- you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Yeah I might switch to MetLife as well. Current using Geha. Waiting to see if my insurance will cover 70 percentage braces. So far look like they will. We will see.
Military (Navy, Army, Marines) Veterans, I've heard Metlife is best because of the higher payout for major teeth work. BUT, something like a 2-year requirement of having Metlife Insurance before you can take advantage of it. If any other military veterans out there have updated/better insurance companies to recommend please reply back so that other vets can see it, thanks.
One thing that would be a great help. STOP being so greedy with your prices. You know you could but greed stops you. Why do so many dentists NOT accept Medicare Dental Insurance? GREED!
Bologna! It doesn't pay enough for you to get rich enough and that's the problem. How much does one NEED to prosper? Sadly too many doesn't care about the "Little People". Having you teeth cleaned shouldn't require a mortgage. But of course the greedy person won't agree.@@The_Midnight-Hour
Yes, why do American doctors and dentists have to be so greedy? You have to travel abroad to get a fair price? I wish a law would go into action where there is a limit as to what can be charged. It would be enough for the doctor to live "comfortably" but affordable enough where a person doesn't have their health compromised because they can't afford it. I guess when it comes down to it, most doctors and politicians really don't care or can't be bothered to make others' quality of life better. Shameful.
I’m 33 and Delta Dental PPO gives me $2000 towards orthodontist treatment and they cover my retainer cost….my deductible is $50 but was already paid on previous dental work before my braces.
i am in a desperate situation !! i just lost one of my bottom teeth due to an accident and have been crying since nonstop because the doctors told me that it will cost $ 2000 dollars 💸 to fix my situation unfortunately i have medicaid and heath first is there anything that can be done about this ? because i can not afford to pay for any of this .
Hi, I hope your dental needs have been taken care of since you wrote your message. There are many ways to get the help you need at a reduced cost. Try shopping for less expensive dentists or one that will give you a payment plan. One way to get reduced dental care is to look for a dental school that works with the public and gives discounted prices. I subscribed to the Clark Howard website and to his RU-vid videos and get valuable financial information on every topic involving how to handle and save money. Maybe his website can help you with your dental needs and other things as well. If you are a senior there are local offices that help seniors and if you aren't a senior maybe if you go to your local county office they can help you to find the care you need.
Thanks for the valuable info. I'm a retired government worker and the dental insurance sucks. I've talked to representatives and no one seems to know anything. Thank you again.
I’m loving all your content and you seem to be really caring and skilled. I have an extreme phobia of the dentist do to a lot of trauma and have put off dental work because of said trauma. You may think I’m crazy for this and I’m kinda scared of the response or lack there of. However, I’m looking for insurance and none cover what I need done, covid killed my credit ( though I’m now in a career where I’ll be making suitable income ) I have yet to save for the treatment needed, would it be impossible for you to help me ? I’m not sure what else to do at this point before things get worse or I just don’t have the courage to try anymore. So… would it be impossible for you to offer help? I’m willing to exchange anything of value for the service, my solar consulting , using me as a marketing Avenue for the before and after, anything.. im st the end of my rope.
Next month during AEP, I'm going to switch my insurance from Aetna DMO to PPO. Hoping to visit your office before this year is over. Ty for your energy, time and wisdom, you've put into these videos. 🥰💪🌟 (I'm a new subscriber.)
Are you looking for a business loan personal loan. Project loan, I know of a lending company who can help you with a loan i just got a loan amount of $200,000 for the renovation of my house.
I didn't see you mention Humana, I looked over every one of the plans you spoke about, and I am surprised there was nothing about (Humana Extend 5000) I have this plan, is there some reason you would leave it out of the top plans? I am going in for some work soon and don't want some crazy hidden cost coming up.
My insurance agent got me Aetna and it only covered $1,500 worth of dental cost after I wait a year and pay in $1,000. I canceled that policy but then re-signed up with Aetna and this time they gave me a $3,000 yearly limit they will pay on dental cost. As soon as I signed up, I seen that Cigna had a better plan and they will pay up to $5,000 worth of dental cost a year. I'm confused how these plans work.
Greed....allow that in YOUR business dealings with dentist or orthodontist. Provide a service or product to them JACK THE PRICE UP! Economics is checks and balances.

Hey . I am an international student planning to come to the US . I just got my braces in my home country .. so can i continue my treatment in the US? And what would be the cost ?
Are these insurance companies (metlife, aetna and delta) available to canadians (with a canadian address) whom reside in usa for 6 months a year or less (with no fixed usa address)? I understand the coverage is for a year and payments will still be payable for the whole calander year and service would be used within a six month period from approximate Dec through May in a revolving yearly plan or renewal. TY
Do one or more of these carriers NOT automatically downgrade resin composite filling coverage to cheaper amalgam filling coverage? And also do some NOT downgrade porcelain crowns or full noble metal crowns down to cheaper base metal crowns?
all the dental plans i have looked at pay their percentage of a cheaper filling or crown and if you want a better one you pay the difference. the exception is resin fillings for front teeth.

Thanks, for your advice I'm searching and I will evaluate your top three. You've been very helpful. I cannot afford the work done all at once but, I can afford to visit a dentist every two months until all my fillings are replaced. But, if replacing them is cheaper than I expected, I may be able to have a few done in one setting. Thanks again.
