Unless you are an audio engineer and get paid for needing high end audio on a computer, $200-$250 is the max 90% of people need that also want good quality for their money.

@@iikatinggangsengii24711000 minimum? Buddy the vast majority of the population is broke as fuck and can’t even tell the difference between a $250 dollar speaker and a $1000 one. $250 is already expensive for an accessory for the vast majority of people.

Recently bought a Kef R3, with a Marantz amplifier. Speaker is pretty big and you need space for the amp as well, but a hifi bookshelf speaker with a seperate amp can be a great solution, especially when buying used.

Hey Jasper, thank you for this great comparison. Would you say the swans sound better then the ora's but are just bigger or are the ora's better in general? How do you think these two stack up against the t40's? Those have been my go to and I still like them but I have been wanting to upgrade them for quite some time now.

I got iLoud Micro Monutors teo days ago and I'm blown away with their soubd quality. I was expecting that bass wont low, cause its just 3.5inch small speaker, but they go way lower than my earlier Logitech X-530 that had SUBWOOFER. Yea, they win with bass against subwoofer. Mind blown. Stereo imaging is unbeliveable, I dont feel like I need to EQ... I thought they will play great only at low volumes, but they can go extremely loud without issues. You can throw party in your house with these. I also think thay they look awesome, really fits if you have rounded edges in your furniture (table, chair).

@AXYZE
@AXYZE Месяц назад
@@MrNoipe If you buy such speakers you only buy once, you don't need to replace them in 2 years, maybe not even in 10 years. Considering that I would call them cheap. If you will use them for 10years its only $30 per year. You're better of buying these than get couple cheaper ones. I did this mistake with bluetooth earphones - I bought like 10 pairs of $20-$30 ones in 3 year period, because one did break, one were uncomfortable, one had not enough bass etc. and I could easy pay $100 upfront for good ones. It would be cheaper at the end and I would have way better experience.

They're expensive and not ideal for a smaller desk like yours but if you want to have your mind blown, check out the Kali Audio Ultra-Nearfield Studio Monitor System sometime. I am absolutely shocked by how good they are. I probably shouldn't be as Kali Audio's monitors are some of the best in the business. That being said, I have Kanto TUKs, YUs and ORAs so I guess that makes me a fanboy. I can't wait to hear the soon to be released Kanto ORA4s and RENs. I can't share URLs through RU-vid so you'll have to Google those last two if you're curious. The ORA4s are a small improvement on the ORAs and the RENs are Kanto's first with HDMI.

I've been waiting for the ORA4. Supposed to be released in April, but Kanto delayed them to add some new colors (all matte): black, white, pink, red, and purple. They should hit North American warehouses in September. Source: I emailed their customer support and asked.

I love my t40, but watch out, My creative speakers randomly won't turn on with sound, I have to leave something playing and then turn them off at the wall, wait till the sound starts and quickly turn them back on.... They are 5+ years old now (already replaced the power brick) Seems to be a common fault after a long time of use !

you seem to be a good person to ask. i current have edifier 1280db's and they are.. okay. on the other hand i have a pair of beyerdynamic dt990 and i love how they sound. the edifier have 2 "problems" they sound flat and dampend compare to the beyer headphones and they are very sensetiv to positon. meaning, they dont throw a very wide cone so to speak, they dont fill the room. so what iam looking for, is a pair of speaker, that have the same or similar sound profile as the dt990 but a wide cone then the edifiers.. speakers that dont need to be perfectly centered towars you in order to sound right.. any suggestions?

On the super ultra expensive side I can recommend the very underexposed Airpulse A100 as an additional step up. The horn loaded ribbon tweaters are amazing for clarity and soundstage. With an external woofer attached it turned my desktop system to the only system I need.

Speakers are subjective up til a point, but there are objective ways to tell what is a good speaker and a bad speaker and thats w/ Frequency response & directivity measurements As someone else mentioned Kali Audio is a big value brand that always measures very well in objective measurements. Both the Kanto Ora & iLoud are great speakers, if you're concerned w/ the tweeters being too bright on the iLoud you can always point speakers away off axis from the ear. Instead of the setup where the tweeter points at the ear move them slightly further away and the response tilt at listening position will be reduce the tweeters intensity.

I like your reviews, you think like me Was wondering if you heard about Fluance Ai41? I am between that and Kanto Ora's, not sure which to get yet, might get both and test out But Fluance Ai41 has RCA/Optical and Blueetooth While Kanto is more future proof with USB C, RCA and Bluetooth Although my TV does only have optical port and Bluetooth, hence why I'm a bit stuck :[

I don’t have any experience with the Fluance Ai41, but I’ll definitely look into it (maybe will include in a future video). Personally, I love my ORAs, but overall I agree - get both and compare! Nothing beats being able to compare speakers directly in the environment you’re going to use them in. Keep me posted on what you think.

Fair - it’s all about balancing expectations. A Pebble is not gonna blow you away, but it’s much better than most cheap internal laptop speakers. Around the $100 price point opens up many decent options.

@@Jasper-Tech Any good speakers with integrated DAC? I listen to music on my computer very occasionally, and for this reason I want to keep a numbers of extra devices minimal. The pebble is certainly a winner there because it doesn't require even a separate power adapter, but I am willing to sacrifice a bit for a better quality and can accept speakers with own power adapter. The price range around $300 looks reasonable.
