MrHyde, I did not take your 1st comment as a neg. remark... and your follow on remark is really very good. Matter of fact, I tested exactly what you stated as your experience... I took that very same blue mag. octo holder in the video, along with my Suunto retractable compass and did a test as you described. Now, Mag holder on my chest, compass in my hand, arm extended in front of me 12" as I would if in an up-right position. - Result aprox 2 degrees change. Mag holder on my chest, compass in my hand "as if I were swimming with it", 16" from mag. and barely 1 degree of change. Last: Mag holder attached at my right side BCD pocket D-ring, arm extended with compass as if swimming with it, 24" away... no effect on compass. Great test ! and thank you for your comments. I may even do a video on this at some point.

Now put everything in the horizontal position. Pressure gauge and octopus hanging down, away from your body. Sure, much better than nothing, but still keeps things too much away.

I am looking for the lanyard and bungee that is shown first in the video to secure the gauge. I did not see it for sale on the website. Where can I get one of those?

I want to give a shout out to Edge Dive Gear for an informative video. My wife doesn't like the expensive wrist computer that I got her (says the numbers are too hard to read), so she is always holding her gauges. The Web Loop Console Holder bungee in the video is the perfect solution for those people who still want gauges but want to keep them close at hand without holding on to the console all the time! A simple idea, but well-executed!

Magnet octopus holder AKA how to screw up your compass and get lost under water device

AKA why exactly would you have your compass mounted on your OCTO ...

Edge-Hog Dive Gear I would not. This is not a remark on your video, just on some dive gear in general. Sorry if you took offense. But never the less my experience is that magnet holders disturb the compass when you hold it where you would read it (in front of your chest/face) and you mount the octoholder centrally on the chest where it should be (for example on the right shoulder as you yourself suggested). On that note, mounting knives on forearms is also a good idea "on land", but it's a typical way to distort the compass. This might not concern many divers out there as they might orient themselves by the seabed, sun, good visibility or follow a guide, but in murky waters or by night you rely heavily on your compass. Thank you for making videos on scuba gear! 😁 Happy (safe) diving!

Yeah magnetic octo holders seem like a good idea at first. I have the Scubapro version, they screw up your compass and don’t hold well enough. Used it for two dives and my octo kept dropping any time it got bumped.
