Today i'm gonna show you how to greate the BEST DIY Leave-In Conditioner EVER !!!
This Flaxseed gel is perfect for soft and super defined curls.
You Need:
3 cups water
6 tbsp flaxseeds
8 drops tee tree oil
1 teasp vitamin e oil
8 drops silk protein oil
15-20 drops natural essential oil
4 teasp argan oil

I follow a woman that's been doing distilled water mixed with aloe juice and tea tree oil and vitamin e oil in her spray bottle.. then uses this flax seed gel .. it's AMAZING.

DIY is not only safer, but it's fun. I love making my own stuff. We have the same hair. When you get older, as I am, your silver curls will win you lots of compliments from strangers. It's even prettier with the silver than when I was your age. Freezing in cubes, like people said, is the best and most convenient way to store products that don't have a long shelf life.

I’ve been ashamed of my curly hair when I was younger. I was always teased by the kids, because curly hair is not really praised as the ideal beautiful hair so I had it relaxed by the age of 10, but now I’ve been wearing it natural and learning how to take good care of it. I LOVE this stuff. I’ve been using it for two years straight now. Can’t thx you enough. Tips: stop ‘cooking BEFORE thickens. Just stop cooking it before you think you should. Once the seeds start to stick, it’s too late. Second tip: once it’s cooled, pour into an ice cube tray. This way you can store and use cubes as you need them. I normally put a cube in the fridge the day before.

I love them too. However if you suffer from chronic illness or you have a busy life or you get caught up in a emergency situation and are away from home, its good to know some ready made shop products that you can use just in case.

If youre putting it the freezer (not the fridge) I bet you could freeze it in an ice cube tray and then just thaw one cube like 30 mins before you need it. Or just take it to the bathroom with you when you shower and maybe the hot steam would thaw it. Then you would have a ready to use portioned amount each time.

Add some acv to it. It helps balance the ph in your hair and keeps the shelf life longer. I do exactly what you’ve done in this video plus the acv my hair has amazing shine and it’s super long.

Beautiful hair!!! Every now and then you could use a castor oil/coconut oil and mustard oil deep conditioning. (Not that your hair looks like it needs it 🤗). It is VERY GOOD for hair growth and hydrating the whole shaft of the hair (the castor oil) and controlling dandruff (mustard and coconut oil). Love your flaxseed hair leave in conditioner recipe 👍🏽

I've been making flax seed gel for years. I keep it in the fridge. It lasts a few weeks.I don't put anything else in it. It's so important for people to see they can get great results without a ton of chemicals

@@user-wt8bg1ey9w It will smell. Usually it stays fresh for more than a month as long as you don't get anything else (like your conditioner) in it. Sometimes I oil my hair, then put on cream rinse conditioner, then put on the flax seed gel. Then comb it.This takes the volume of my hair right down. But the oil and conditioner are not necessary. But when I do the conditioner, sometimes it gets in my container of flax seed gel. And then it goes bad faster.

I used to have curls like him until I damaged them by over dying and bleaching. I had to cut my hair off until I had an inch on my head. I have the same hair type as you and I use to have lots of creams to style my hair but they end up drying it. I have switched to this gel and is the best! I personally first apply coconut oil to the wet hair, then some leave in (really little amount ) just to soften it and then i apply the gel, I dont even have to define my hair, the gel does it, and it does not shirnk my curls instead they are defined and with volume. LOVEEE this gel!

I was skeptical when I started the video but knowing what I know about flax seed, this recipe makes perfect sense! I will definitely be making it. Not sure about the long list of other oils when simple avocado oil or coconut oil might work. You can pour into ice cube tray and cover in freezer. That way you only have to take out a couple ice cubes at a time to defrost instead of refreezing the entire batch over and over.

I love your in detail tutorial, your hair looks amazing. Have you ever refreshed with it. It works wonders. Even after a weekend hanging out at home on the couch , having the hair in a pineapple all the time, when you spritz your hair Monday morning with a little bit of water anderen afterwards scrunch that gel in, not too much, just a bit, your curls pop back to live. I always refresh with this stuff. Since I'm lazy, I always freeze half of the mixture, because it lasts just a few weeks in the fridge, so that I don't have to throw it away, half the way used. If you can't get one of the ingredients just skip it, i bought the oils like the silk protein oil at a small soap shop in Worms Germany called Puderdose. Unfortunately they don't have a online shop.

I have a water bottle full, I keep in freezer take out and use as it defrosts... Then put back in freezer... I've had it for two months..and it works just as good as 1st day.. No bad smell.. I like the ice cube tray idea though...

I have tried it and I love it. I didn't make it again because of the storage issue. I kept it in the fridge. But I have low porosity hair so the cold product on my hair wasn't the best.

Try to store it in the freezer and take it out the night or day before you use it and then it has room temperature.

Rashida I freeze in ice cube tray and the store in a freezer bag .It takes about 3 cubes to do my hair.I never had any go bad on me ,maybe two to three months it can last.

I personally wouldn't use Optiphen as it is made up of Phenoxyethanol, phenoxyethanol has been shown in some studies to cause skin irritation etc, and possibly carcinogenic. Plus thecessential oils he uses act as a short term preservative and freezing them in cubes will extend the shelf life to months.

One thing I hate about the diy movement is their belief in shit like essential oils and prayer to preserve products. Bacteria will still proliferate. Essential oils do not do shit. They can stop the oil from going rancid, but they cannot halt bacterial growth. Use leucidal or cosgard (geogard).

I have a really soft straight hair that it bothers me when i lose volume, or when it looks too silky like almost greasy, conditioning with flaxseed gel really really helped my hair to look better, it dried it fairly to look better and healthier

Love the enhanced recipe (with the oils), but this is the recipe for hair GEL, not leave-in "conditioner". I'd call it conditioning gel! :-) Great job, and thanks for sharing your version of this. I will definitely give it a try.

@@cheveux9718 You can use this alone in your hair for the purpose of curl definition - so, use it as a styling product. It is not a substitute for a moisturizing conditioner though! Hope this answer helps.

Hi Graham, I discovered your you tube today. I've tried making flax seed gel three times. I say tried because I have a dreadful time separating the gel from the seeds. I've watched a few videos that use a stocking stretched over a measuring cup. My problem is I have arthritis and I don't have the strength to squeeze it through the stocking. I saw someone put the seeds in a clear mesh bag so she didn't have to separate the seeds from the gel. I tried putting my seeds in a stocking so I didn't have to separate it but it didn't work very well. I think IF I do it again I'll look for a strainer like yours. Your hair looks absolutely amazing. If you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate it. 😊

Great video, but it is not good to defrost anything many times, just one time is good, so it is better if you put the diy in small jars so u can defrost it just once ❤️

I usually keep it in an actual 'leave in' container (in the fridge)! I guess it is easier to apply! ... or, I mean, less messy! 🙃

You can make it last in or out of the refrigerator just by adding a preservative. I use optiphen. I ordered it from Amazon.

I will try it excluding the silk protein since I'm vegan. I have pretty much everything, just need to pick up some Vitamin E & Argan Oil from the store.

You definitely do not need the silk protein. I've been making flax gel (just flax and water, plus I add lavender essential oil when it's cooled) and it works perfectly. My curls pop and are healthy and shiny - never need any other stylers anymore, just wash and flaxgel.

The preservative is the Vitamin E oil.

Anita is right. Vitamin E is not a preservative. This is a popular myth. I was distraught when I found out. You would use Optiphen at 1.5% or Optiphen Plus and 1.5%. I got this information from some Natural Beauty courses I take. Hope it helps.
