Best Driving Roads In Wales - A4069 North 'Black Mountain'

Sunday afternoon on the A4069 northbound from Upper Brynamman to Llangadog.
This road is quite narrow but does have a centre line. Sadly, the speed limit is 40 for the entire road but the lines of sight are really long, there are some great corners and spectacular views. Visit early or late to avoid the traffic.

All speed limits were observed during filming. The video playback speed is altered to make it a little more watchable. Please drive safely and within the law!

Why is he quickly turning the opposite way before turning the correct way into the corner... goon. Just upsets the balance of the car

The car steers wide to get a better view around the corner. The video is dramatically sped up (as it says at the start of the video and in the description) so it might look like the car is being steered out and turned in, but I assure you it's not.

wyn jones thanks for your concern, Wyn. However, due to the increased speed of the footage (as clearly pointed out in the video) it looks like the cars are closer than they actually were. I only cross the broken lines when I can clearly see it's safe to do so - but I understand it looks close on the video. Please rest assured that I am an advocate for safe driving and do not endorse wreckless or dangerous behaviour, nor do I rely on "luck" when on the roads.

Driving Tours Wales speed of the footage not a problem it was which side of the road you choose to drive on.

wyn jones last time I checked the highway code it was perfectly legal to cross a broken line, and the action can often increase your line of sight around a corner as long as it's safe to do so. I'm a big advocate of safe and legal road use and recommend all drivers familiarise themselves with the rules of the highway code. I'd also advise any road user to follow my example of doing an IAM Advanced Motorist course as it allows you to understand the road better.
