Thank you very much!! The motor does make a noise but i wouldn’t say it was noisy at all. Compared to a surron which i usually ride its very quiet!!🔋⚡️
My Engwe bike cuts out as soon as you click the throttle does anybody know how to fix this ?, also it doesn’t let me access the p settings? Please help
@@regalito9074 I got the engwe engine x I know that it's different displays, but try out holding the: plus(+) and minus(-) down at the same time then hold the plus(+) for like around 20 seconds then it will say 63km/h where I hold the "i" button to refresh. This methode works on the Engwe Engine X but try it out and see if it works
@@Gorguruga no but about 8 various bolts around the bike all vibrated loose or completely fell out while riding over a time span of a week. I had to put loctite on them. Now my motor locked up so it sits in the garage unused.
@@inegma29 Sounds bad. I saw a video earlier today from someone who bought a new Engwe and he mentioned that when they arrive and you construct the bike, the loctite comes off because of unscrewing so loctite needs to be reapplied during the first construction. The motor locked up? Did it catch fire or just stop working? Bad luck either way. I'm thinking of buying an Engwe for a long trip London to Wales with luggage. Guess you wouldn't recommend one. Any better options out you might know for that journey?
@@Gorguruga I've had several brands. 2 solid ones that have over 1000miles riding time with no problems are Fucare gemini x(750watt motor dual battery) and the famous Lectric xp (500watt motor) excellent company. Some of these companies offer bigger batteries when ordering so look for that option if you are needing to cover some distance.
@@Gorguruga the motor seems like the internal planetary gears broke apart and are causing the lock up, its hard to move and feels crunchy and clunky when forcing the rear wheel to move.
I’m yet to experience any of this. I could understand the frame’s snapping but for that to happen they would have to be getting some aggressive riding and take some stick, as for the fenders i’ll probably remove them anyway!
@@mattfrancisofficial i wont keep going on about them as your channel is a good one and i like the surron content - its honest and real, but 15 mins research can tell you everything you need to know about these Engwe bikes!
I've been known to probably over loading mine. Came home with a 32 inch strapped to the back rack this week. Last week 4, 12 pks of can Pepsi and a 5 lb bag of potatoes. Over 50 lbs including an 8 pound lock and chain.
@@Rickster316Okay, maybe you’ve done your 15 mins of research. But I’ve been riding mine for two snowy, icy and freezing winters and one hot summer for about 3000 kms without any of the problems you have mentioned. Or even signs of them. I have also sold about 20 of these (almost all Engine Xs though… same same but different) during the past year and I know some of my clients have ridden their bikes a lot more than I have. Without any of the problems you’ve mentioned. Trust me, I’d be the first person to know if one of their bikes’ frames snapped in half.
Have you actually seen one of these bikes? If not, how can you make such a statement, or are you the type person who believes everything on the net is true and Santa comes every year? If you misuse any frame, it can snap, as for the mudguard mine is solid and metal
Definitely one for a future video!! Not that it could ever compete with type of bike the surrons and talarias it. Still be good to put it to the test and see what it’s truly capable of!
I love my Engine Pro, I have adapted it for Metal detecting. Impressed with the off-road capabilities although I crashed it twice while filming last week.
@@Gorguruga it explains in my video, I had a spade carrier 3D printed. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a4l_gmHPN-o.htmlsi=vm8tuvL57H5Ra0oo
@@The-skillschool Thanks for the link, I just subscribed. Was thinking about buying Engwe for a long distance trip, London to Wales with luggage. Then for short everyday trips from to the shops and back. Do you think it'd be ok for a long journey though? Probably spread over a few days, with pit stops, camping and solar charging on the way.
I’ve had mine 2 years and covered best part of a thousand miles on it with my Terrier in her carry box on the rack. I’ve pumped ( gunk) tyre sealer into the inner tubes.and fitted rubber extensions to both mudguards.if the thumb throttle not fitted I think the bike is legal..I’ve been using mine on and off road ..highly recommended.
@@mattfrancisofficial Sorry after all this time I'm convinced that I left this comment by mistake supposed to be for a car video...lost my spot🥴😂but I own an engwe and love it just hate paying off the interest on my charge card😡
Hello. I see that you know Engwe electric bicycles well. I want to buy one, but I have no way to try them. That's why I would appreciate it if you could advise me on a model. I tell you my needs. I am 70 years old and I am 5'5". I weigh 70 kg. I want it to walk, mainly on steep mountain trails. I don't need speed, but I do need it to be able to climb steep trails without having to pedal.
Ideally you would need something with more hill climbing capability as the engwe engine pro will only climb small inclines when only using the thumb throttle. Engwe are releasing an engine pro 2.0 which i will hopefully be reviewing in the near future. If this has more hill climbing capabilities i will be sure to let you know!
That key underneath is not convenient. Why you didn’t use your phone’s gps to see if the speed was accurate? Most of these E-bikes are off in testing. I can’t remember if you said how much you weight. That will effect speed
you totally forgot about an important feature most done have ...engine re gen system its even on the side of the bike ! it charges the battery ! such an important feature
I didn’t quite understand how the regen worked on this model and i personally couldn’t get it to work on the engine pro hence why i didn’t include it in this video. 🔋⚡️
Since this is a recent review - have they fixed the dangerous rear mudguard fixing or is it still the old version which is at risk of breaking and getting trapped under the rear wheel causing a crash?
I think they have sorted that issue although i may be wrong. I did not notice anything about it that seemed like it could be a danger so hopefully that is an issue that has been resolved!
Nice one man! Glad it came in useful!! I’m not too sure if it helps me tbh but regardless, i’m pleased you saved some money and i hope you enjoy your new bike as much as i did!!
great review mate, thanks a lot. Can you do a compare between pro 1.0 and ori 2.0? They differ in torque and driving methods so quite a lot of differences.
I bought 2.0, it's rubbish, it's impossible to unlock the speed, tops at 16 mph, which 52 volt battery is pointless, Im sending it back. It's a really bad sloggish ride. Stear clear
