The "upfront conclusion" is a refreshing approach. It negates the need to skip to the end of the video. Thumbs up.

I like the format of you presenting your conclusion early in the video and then giving the reasons for it. I usually watch the entire thing, and listen more attentively. Best wishes as you continue to grow your channel. You are a great resource for people interested in E-ink devices.

Great video, I like the structure with the conclusion upfront! Smart! I'm happy rM invented this product category! I was immediately sold on the original rM. It was so lovely to write more and still have all my notes with all the time. When I found out about the rM2, it was an easy upgrade. But after using it for a few years, my notes started to get cluttered. Besides, I hardly read any books on my rM. I bought a Kindle for reading, but the sluggish performance put me off. Last year I learned about the devices from Onyx and Supernote, after watching many videos, I decided to go for the Boox Note Air 3 C. I'm happy with Android apps on an e-ink device, which automatically pushes me towards productivity and less towards procrastination. The frontlight has enabled me to read before going to bed. I just realised an e-ink tablet is also ideal for kids. We used it together for playing chess games and solving puzzles.

I am new to e ink. Never owned such devices but am now thinking of one . I use A4 note pads everyday . However , I use the different pads and often loose track of what is where . I wanted the Supernote A5 but it’s no longer available . I want to write notes , have them all in one place and be able to read large form pdf. The Boox Note air 3 black and white was my next choice but the are out of stock every where . The boox note go looks like it might suit my needs and budget. Thanks for the great review

I've swapped out the pen on the Go 10.3 for the Lamy pen. Now I don't have to worry about the magnetic tab. I just put the pen in my pocket.

That's probably the best thing to do to fix that and the Lamy pen is also much nicer in terms of haptics :)

I wish you covered more about the quality of files when exporting. For me this is a sketchpad. I had a Boox note plus, Fujitsu quadreno and I’m now on the remarkable 2. Right now my issue with the remarkable is that the latest updates just made things worse. When I trace lines over my rough drawings to clean up, it glitches. The exports were always low res, and instead of using my brush strokes it makes a low res raster image and I can either export that or a vector trace of the low res file losing a lot of detail. In the latest updates, it tries to make all my brush strokes as a layer. Ignoring the line work layer and tones layers. It’s rather frustrating. Would love to know how the super note exports files and what’s the vector quality like. I’ve had a bad experience with Boox how their updates bricked my tablet last time, and honestly I have an iPad for those things. I just want a nice b&w sketchbook I can do my linework with. The remarkable is a wonderful tablet to draw on, but those exports need to be redone.

the most frustrating thing about this market for me is that there seems to have been a horsepower vs. feature set vs. cost calculation with them that is disconnected from customer needs. the rM2 is really dated at this point hardware-wise; they focus on design and mostly get it right but even the rMPP announced today is still anemic. Boox is nice but there's no device that is both super-portable like the Tab Mini C and forgoes color for brighter screens/higher contrast. the Supernote Nomad would be the perfect balance, BUT suffers from critical (to me) missing features; their notes apps can't combine arbitrarily placed text and pen content. it feels like the industry is on the cusp of level-setting and figuring all this out, but... it's been on the cusp for a long while!

This is by far the best channel for side-by-side comparisons. I love the way you’ve formatted these videos. Super helpful. For someone looking to hand write long form documents, digitize them to text (hopefully without losing formatting like paragraph indentions or breaks), and send to another device, which would you recommend? Lots of people compare them as note taking devices… but I’ve yet to see someone review them as a journalist or novelist looking to replace paper notebooks for first drafts.

Formatting will always be a bit difficult and I suspect a bit of touch-up will always be needed for converted text. Boox and Supernote both are pretty accurate for that. Personally I found Supernote a bit better - also in terms of options for exporting that text. I'd recommend waiting for the Supernote A5X2, which should be released soon and has more screen estate.

Unfortunately, this great video is already outdated, because of the remarbale pro. Remarkable didn't make clear if colours version is going to replace b/w, or if these are separate concepts and new b/w device could arrive a day. A new video on these aspects would be great. Also, what about a video on working experience, e.g. Integration with OneDrive? I'm sure this is possible on the boox, but not sure about the quality (ease, speed, limitations) on a daily basis... Thanks

If you're a STEM student, honestly don't buy a RMK 2. I've been using it for 2 years, and have been asking remarkable multiple times to add CIRCLES and they never added it. It has been 4 years since it's out on the market, they barely listen to power-users demands. It can seem a bit extreme but circles are everywhere, if you want to draw precise sketch for your physics class, if you're doing a lot of trigonometry, etc, circles (as well as ellipses and other shapes) are mandatory. I've also asked them on multiple occasions to add more colors to the exportation than red and blue, which would also be really useful for physics notes.

I wanted to add something : There are solutions that have been brought to me by other users on the remarkable 2 reddit : there are templates with shapes that you can import and then copy/paste the shapes, or hacks. However, not having it on the side bar is really annoying. There haven't been a lot of hacks on the remarkable yo you have to downgrade of a few updates to get the right hacks. I'm also not sure if the connect subscription would work as well as the type folio that I use (and recommend, expensive af but I often use it) So the only solutions don't make the remarkable as easy to use as it should be (the easiness is one of the main arguments of remarkable, an "apple-like" device)

I would use this for maths, mainly for organisation. I have thousands of sheets of paper all over the place and I need some order in what I write, and I would love one of these note takers. Do you think ReMarkable can be a good solution? What else are you missing out on? I was thinking that maybe pdf reading would be somewhat necessary and ReMarkable does not offer the best experience as for the reviews

Does the Boox have anything like the digest feature of the Supernote? Maybe I missed it, but I didn't hear it even mentioned and that alone makes the notetaking on the SN vastly better for me. Being able to be working/studying a bunch of pdf's/books and easily create a separate digest of all the important snips, along with your written notes on them, that you can easily refer to is huge.
@ChalidRaqami
@ChalidRaqami 2 месяца назад
No, nothing similar on Boox. You can only highlight text with your finger and use that to further process the PDF on your Computer. Supernote is definitely better when it comes to organizing everything you're doing on the device.

An incredibly helpful video Chalid, thank you so much! After a month of decision paralysis, you've helped me decide to go with the Boox. What is your favourite pen to use on the Go 10.3? I've heard mixed reviews on the original pen that comes with the device. Would appreciate your advice 😊
@ChalidRaqami
@ChalidRaqami 2 месяца назад
Thanks, glad to hear :) The original pen feels a bit cheap imho, but other than that it's okay. I'd suggest trying it out for a bit and only then get another one, if you don't like using it. There are a couple of really nice options available that work with the Boox Go 10.3. I really like the Kaweco AL Sport for it's heavy weight and metal finish. But the Lamy pen is also a good pick imho. But neither can be attached to the tablet magnetically unfortunately. If that's something you don't want to miss out on, than the Boox Pen 2 Pro is also worth a look (and its magnetic attachment to the tablet is actually stronger with the one that comes in the box).

Great comparaison between the main competitors. The video format is super clear! I'm looking for a solution to efficiently digitalize my handwritten notes to communicate them. Today, I'm retyping everything in Word which is time consuming. My notes are 1-3 pages long, include lists, columns, sketches ... Are any of these devices good for such objectives?
@ChalidRaqami
@ChalidRaqami 2 месяца назад
Yes, all of them have hand-writing recognition. I'd say the Supernote is the most accurate (at least for my handwriting) and also provides the most options for a streamlined workflow for specifically converting and exporting text. The Boox Go 10.3 is a bit more complicated but also works well in terms of text recognition. The Remarkable is the worst for handwriting conversion for me.
@julieannshoemanlewis9069

I returned the Boox Note Air 3c because it was (a) too heavy to work well as an ereader or writing pad, and (b) because the writing experience was simply not good (felt like a dry erase mark on the surface and the transcribing workflow was crap). Looks like the Go solves the weight issue, right? But I can't imagine they improved the writing experience much just yet. Still, as an ereader, it's interesting. Regardless, I'm now waiting for her larger Supernote.
@ChalidRaqami
@ChalidRaqami 2 месяца назад
The weight is defintely better, but in terms of the writing feel it depends on what exactly you didn't like. The pen latency is actually slightly worse on the Go 10.3, but the pen to E-Ink-particle distance is better.

@t0dd000 2 месяца назад
@@ChalidRaqami Felt like writing with a dry erase marker. Fine for little things, but not _writing._ And then if you write pages of stuff, transcribing was a very slow and awkward process. And so ... That's what bugged me and I returned it.

Looks interesting and seems to run on a similar base as the Bigme and Boox UI, but I would be hesitant to import it because getting support from a company that doesn't actively sell to western markets will most likely be a hassle. I'd say it's the best when it comes to ease of use imho because it has a very low entry barrier. Which most likely is also the reason why it has the most units sold in that segment. But the others are better for more advanced features. In any case, I think the most important accomplishment of Remarkable was to essentially (re-)vitalize this market segment.
