Wow I never heard of it. I’ve been trying to find someone that speaks in normal jargon that actually shows how to edit. Thanks for dumbing it down for newbies.I want to do videos for RU-vid and Facebook. But I would like to to do thumb nails and maybe a some introduction! wow, never heard about this program, own my Gopro Hero 3+ for 4 years, and always struggled with editing videos, since I never done it, when I tried to do it with like Adobe programs, looked way to complicated and I never spend time on it, so I have bunch of videos that I never touched. Can you use the quik program to just import/convert files so that they can be edited in an actual good editing program like Premiere Pro? 4k footage is Hevc and not supported by Mac unless you upgrade to High Sierra which I don't wish to do - too many horror stories about lost plug ins. I'd like to import 4k then convert with Handbrake if I need to do so. I'd never have made the leap to 4k if I'd known it's practically impossible to edit.

Hi Kyle, Is the GoPro Quick still the best to bring a Time Lapse photography to life. I want to make it longer than the 60 seconds available in this app. Do you have any alternative application. I used to have the GoPro Studio. Would that be the best was to run the Timelapse footage? I've tried to use the GoPro Quick but doesn't allow longer than 60 sec.

Thanks a lot I didnt know windows had a gopro quick app I was only aware of the Mobil app of gopro quick . click the video your trying to edit, and select the marker on the top right corner. then select volume and turn down the music all the way and then make the originial sound 100 and music should be at 0.

I am totally new to editing and downloaded go pro quick and it was horrible. You literally can NOT edit anything!!!!! It just puts entire videos in place behind or in front of each other. You can NOT edit!!!

I can’t really understand between the GoPro website and Quik and Splice and the iPhone. Yes I can download my videos and pictures from the iPhone into Quik and the same as to my GoPro’s with WiFi. But, my iPad and laptop has the same software ( APP ) as my cellphone has.... just by login and I cannot even see those pictures and videos. When I edit my videos on my laptop or on mine iPhone. They don’t appear on any of my other setups like in Quik or on mine Gopro website..... I just ended up with different downloads and videos and pictures instead of being all in one website which supposed to be on the GoPro website. If I put a video on Quik from my iPhone it goes straight into the GoPro website. But, as soon I log into my laptop or iPad those videos are not in those two techs. I believe as a member of all three APP’s that the GoPro website and Quik as well Splice should automatically download them into all three setups. I’m just saying.

how can people seriously compare this to final cut pro? This is free and it's designed for the masses. I've used it with good results (I like going on adventures but I don't like video editing for hours). That being said I am looking for another piece of software that offers longer video time and also lets you use media not shot with a GoPro.

The gopro APP is ass. What i did was put a few slo mo vids into one video, then when i played the whole thing theres a specific time limit/zone for each bit (vid), and the main parts where cut out even if i trimmed the bits. I hope the computer app wont have this problem.

Yeah..Qwik is one of those apps that is a bit unorthodox style of auto-editing. Works fine...does pre-import trimming, but eventually, you will want a real edit. Do you really want to learn another app? I use FCP 10.4 and I take the micro card out of Hero 6 and put it in my Mac Mini Late 2012 card reader. This allows me to pre-review and set multiple in/out and only import what I want. Then I delete files locally on sd card and put it back in Hero. Using the card reader is the only way to do this. USB importing does NOT allow pre-trimming, on iPhone, iPad, or Hero 6, even if you import to files on local hard drive (this is one of the biggest reasons I try not to use iPhone for action video}. I believe iMovie will pre-trim from microsd also. Do you really want to import 40g of, mostly fluff, into any editor. You will use HD space like crazy! Good Luck

I am not a mac user so I have not experienced this. I have to say working off footage which is stored on an SD card seems a bit scary to me. The features do sound awesome! I know this is one of the reason I have started to work on only shooting short clips. Storage of video is a big problem and one most computers can not handle. My workstation currently has over 38TB of storage and I am filling it up a lot faster than I was expecting. A way to cut down on the amount of footage you import sounds like it could be quite the space saver.

MicroSd cards and Cameras that accept them are the only affordable workflow for action shots where the camera continuously records. They are getting faster and have more capacity. $40 for 64g. If doing 4k 60fps I recommend the fastest. They are very reliable. Doing 4k, you absolutely must pre-trim before importing. This is where action cams are far superior to Tablets and phones. I don't know of any software that will pre-trim Tablets and phone footage. Of course, you can use edit apps on devices and eventually delete originals. I get too frustrated with trying to tap and drag on devices. Premiere is great...but subscription. Good bye. Try Hitfilm or Hitfilm Express (free) for PC. FCP for Mac ($300). iMovie does not pre-trim card readers. BTW Good Luck

I recommend Hitfilm or Hitfilm Express for PC users. Using the GoPro MicroSD card on desktop allows you to pre-trim all that fluff away before importing.

Its a bummer because its stealing from people creativity You can edit nice shots and short movies but Long time ago i learn how to edit with Movie Maker and everyone say that its crap now 15 years later is like best soft for everyone lol because its based on MovieMaker with extra twists So main point learn softs how to use them its not hard each film making soft is similar. Sony vegas Premier pro Final cut These one of best at the moment softs to use for film making Premier pro step by step is the most professional and most easiest soft to learn for a beginner ;)

Quick intuitive? Maybe for you millennials, but I find Camtasia and FCPX far easier to use! Quick places so many constraints on how you do an edit I find it totally unusable!

Using the GoPro system and Mac built-in Card Reader, Pre-trimming with multiple in/out points before importing, and FCPX is the best workflow for continuous action shots. No Doubt. Good Luck

Quik is trash. It only lets you make 60sec videos. And it doesn't allow you to fully edit clips to color grade like the old studio did. Its a shame that GP had to cancel the studio.

Do Not use GoPro Quik have had nothing but problems when uploading/editing footage looks slow even though camera isn't on time lapse video mode, Quik tends to freeze constantly

GoPro Studio was great. If you’re using it on a Mac, don’t upgrade to Catalina. Studio won’t work with it.

I add a title, combine files, trim, crop, add music, fix the color, and fix the fisheye with studio. Most of the time, that is all the editing I need. I own after effects and filmora wondershare and I use studio 90% of the time. Mostly because I don't need 200gb raw files to work with and rendering a project takes much less time in studio.

I have iPad Pro 10.5 and have tried Lumafusion. Not a big fan of editing on "Devices" but Luma is the best. You still have to transfer import from GoPro 20-50g of continuous action footage via wifi...hmm. FCPX Desktop editing and microsd card reader pre-trimming before importing is the only answer for huge files. IM(NSH) O....(not so humble).

I like a very basic editor so it's easy to make great videos. I don't need a bunch of fancy stuff to make a TV show or block buster movie. Just something people really like without all the learning of more complex editors. I normally figure the more basic the better, but it looks like with GoPro Quick they have finally made an editor so basic it's junk. Terrible editor. They really should have stayed with GoPro Studio!!!! What a shame.

Totally disagree with you Mr. Kyle Martin, Please read the comments below. Go-Pro QuiK Desktop sucks to be honest. The Go-Pro Studio was having serious crashing issues, and this company has no competency to debug the crashing and launched another crap. Absolute crap. Just tell me Mr. Kyle how do you make a full time lapse using Quik desktop ? Your video actually appears like a paid promotion.
