Buying etfss is easy, but buying the right etfs without a time-tested strategy is incredibly hard. Hence what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist? I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio of $260K for sometime now, my major challenge is not knowing the best entry and exit strategies... I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

The market is volatile at this time, hence i will suggest you get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day invt decisions being guided by a invt-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using a invt-coach for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million

If one is in their 40s and just started investing (have 401k from work). Should they just focus on growth etf since it will be too late for them to see real benefits with dividends? I’ve been sitting on over 300K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here

Congratulations!! I lost a lot chasing individual stocks and I feel pretty stupid for not understanding how investing works. I have a double major in economics but I’ve been trying to make sense of the market.
@knockoutlightz
@knockoutlightz 27 дней назад
I wouldn't say early 40's is 'too late' for anything related to investing. If you have at least 20 years left to put money into the market then I think growth is a nice way to lean. I would still have a balance of the two. I jumped into the market with about 75000 in 2021 and recently just surpassed ~$890K with ETFs/stocks being a big piece of the gains. I use a *CFA* for recommendations and market entry and exit points and it's a great hands-off way to approach it

@-Fredrickyes, and schd is only available in US, so your probided suggestion is not useful since this channel is about EU. While VOO and QQQ growth etfs have some alternatives in EU, schd do not have anything close to it. Either you pay ridiculous 0.39 etf fee with lower div yield than original schd etf or you go on single dividend paying stocks and try to mimick it yourself.

I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait but watching my portfolio of $450k dwindle away is such an eye -sore.

there are tons of cool stocks in different industries to watch. You don't have to act on every forecast. I suggest teaming up with a financial advisor who can help you pick the right times to buy and sell the stocks or ETFs you're eyeing. They can give you some solid advice to make smart moves.

In Switzerland my understanding is no taxes on capital gains (if investment time is over 6 months). Can anyone confirm? Thanks
@thetomcrosshill
@thetomcrosshill Год назад
I'm not a Swiss tax expert, but my understanding is generally that it's a bit more complicated - cap gains are tax free for most people, but not tax free if you are considered a professional investor - and there one of several criteria is the holding time for your investments (the 6 month limit). So if in doubt, one should always consult a tax advisor.

“Best ETF” is like saying which finger is best to have amputated. Avoid ETFs and buy a passive accumulation index fund run by a company that doesn’t have share holders , doesn’t sponsor sports, and whose fees are less than 0.24%.
