Love your channel. You guys talk about Dune all the time. Would love to hear your thoughts about the 2 expansions (Rise of Ix and Immortality). Once New Zealand is out, would also love to see a comparison of the 3 new GWTs.
Great humor! Your edits are done really well to give your jabs at each other optimal delivery, fantastic job to whomever is doing the editing on your vids!
A fun watch for sure. 10 more suggestions from my favourite Euros: Agricola, Anachrony, Ark Nova, Brass Birmingham, Concordia, Hansa Teutonica, Obsession, Rococo, Scythe and Underwater Cities.
Firstly, a great fun video, and by definition, a hybrid-Eurogame, is a type of Eurogame, QED. What’s missing, Hamsa Teutonica and Concordia. Upvote for Eclipse and Dune Imperium.
Eclipse most definitely a hybrid, and for me, one that leans much further towards thematic than euro. Indeed I'd say Scythe is more euro than Eclipse. FWIW I do appreciate the breaking down of false barriers these hybrids offer, and sometimes the combo is excellent. Probably wrong to include Eclipse here, irrespective of whether we agree / disagree on its relative position.
Fantastic list, love all the games on your top 10. We had Brass Birmingham and sold it after a handful of games and whilst a solid game certainly not one we appreciated very much. Ark Nova is not as good as Terraforming Mars, but im sure because its newer, some would disagree. Great video guys.😊
Great content! I like watching you guys. HOWEVER… Flamecraft as a top 10 euro is an absolute crime lol. Has to be the most safe/vanilla/unoriginal euro on the market. But hey, we all like what we like!
I've been watching this top for the third time and I think I should finally leave you a comment here. I really like your channel even though I don't understand all the dad jokes. 🤣 Poor me. But that's probably because I need to improve my English. 😉 Greetings from Poland. 🙂
In my opinion there are so many similar Lords of Waterdeep games that do better maintaining simplicity, that's the advantage of LOW. For example I would prefer almost anyGarphills game over LOW (like Raiders of the North Sea)
I was so tempted to put bitoku on my birthday list recently but opted to put Iki instead which was Brought for me. I wanted a game that we could play as a family...I saw the length of bitoku and knew my kids wouldn't last 😅
Euro game meaning has been completely lost the last few years. Most of the games qualify as euro games so it's so hard to make a euro only list. My suggestion is providing the meaning of the category before starting the list! For the specific video: What is a euro game, what do you qualify as a euro game etc. I would really like to know your opinion on Brass: Birmingham.
DUNE. Of course it is. I endorse this decision. To quote Ferris Bueller, "if you have the means, I highly suggest you pick one up. It is so choice." 😇😈💙 Another great video! Your fun, playful dynamic is still the best. Ark Nova surprised me in the best way (being pretty certain I'd bounce off it immediately.) I deeply disliked Terraforming Mars, but I'm so glad I tried Ark Nova despite the similarities. The ARNO solo variant is such a good experience.
My top 10 euro of all time: 10: Tiletum 09: Clans of Caledonia 08: Orleans 07: Caverna 06: Castles of Burgundy 05: Concordia 04: Gaia Project 03: Great Western Trail: Argentina 02: A Feast for Odin 01: Brass: Birmingham. I did not include any tableau builders because I feel like that genre of card focused games came about recently as euros got more and more hybridized. When I think of euros, I always pictured more of a board in the middle rather than focused on a tableau of cards. Also did not include any combat or take that oriented games, I like my euros to only have tension caused by blocking and timing.
Good job Janis G. I have every game on this list. You know what game I don't have Ark Nova because I played it and it was bad. (not sure if weather machine should be on here or not, I have it, just haven't had a chance to play it yet).
@@BoardGameHangover Cheers for that. Last year was my first time. This year I am bringing my roommate. 15hr flight from Los Angles is long but 100% worth it. (BTW roomate is a big fan of the channel as well)
Great as always. Many people don't like Dwellings of Eldervale because of the way the dice affect the game. Not the fact that dice are part of it. Just the way that they are part of it. What are your thoughts on it..?
I'm scammed to watch this video, there is ark nova in the picture but it is not in the top 10 list. How can you not place ark nova in the top 10. It's the best euro board game ever made
@@stormburns Because there are hundreds of fantastic Euros, new and old, and the same uninspired choices always come up. Flamecraft? one of the best euros of all time? come on mate.
1.Dune Imperium 2.Ark Nova 3.Terraforming Mars 4.Puerto Rico 5.Scythe 6.Brass Lankashire 7.Gaia Project 8.Great Weatern Trail Argentina 9.Viticulture 10.Caylus 1303. Eclipse is in my Top 10 Ameritrash😂
Seldom people would join me in appreciation of Lacerda games( I really like his thematic Kanban EV, Gallerist or Lisboa. I miss there Ark Nova, Brass, Troyes, Obsession and Arnak as one of favourites . Thank you for the video about Euro games!
I'd have to think about it, but my top ten euros would probably have at least a couple lacerda games in it. I've enjoyed Lisboa, vinhos, gallerist, kanban, and on Mars.
Thanks for all your content, I find it very entertaining :) This would be my list if I had to trim my collection down to 10 euro (euro-ish) games: A Feast for Odin Anachrony Barrage Brass Birmingham Castles of Burgundy Dune Imperium Eclipse Gaia Project Scythe Terraforming Mars
I bought Flamecamraft after watching this video, it was a really bad idea u.u Please be more honest, flamecraft was really boring and definetely made for childs 😢😢😢 I love you guys ❤
Man the word euro doesn't even mean anything anymore. Most of these games pivot around lucky card draws. Euros are supposed to be zero luck and 100% open information. Cards are just as random as dice. Just because they "feel" less random doesn't change the math.
True. I used to love that about euros. One of my personal favorites of all time being Caylus. But somehow I keep gravitating towards a little bit luck in games these days. /Jānis G.
Still love Lords of Waterdeep. My first worker placement game that I first played years ago and I still play it, just played a couple days ago. Great list
If you can hybrid and laserda is outside, then so: 1 Tyrants of the Underdark 2 Northgard: Uncharted Lands 3 Lost Ruins of Arnak 4 Keyflower 5 Terraforming Mars 6 Hansa Teutonica 7 Thurn and Taxis 8 Blood Rage 9 The Castles of Burgundy 10 Viscounts of the West Kingdom
Awesome video guys, Might i recommend top 10 co-op games that aren't campaign? My group loves coop game but we can't commit to too many story campaign games, we are looking for something like spirit island.
I discovered your channel last week (OMG! So late) and fell in love. I love your complicity and I love the way you talk about the games. Don't change a thing. Thank you so much.
Skymines - my favorite Pfister game - an interactive euro with a lot of options Feast for Odin - you know it, should have been on the list :shame: Brass - n1 on bgg, n1 everywhere!
