I'm 23 years old, but I'm an old soul. I love old songs. I came home for a break and played these songs and my grandma cried. She told me she remembered her difficulties she met when she was young but she listened to these songs and tried to find peace. She was born in 1949. My dadi lost her mother when she was just 1 day old and she lost her father when she was 11years old. She got married to my grandpa at 15. My grandpa died 4 years after marriage. My dadi faced lots of hardships. She brought up my dad and aunt all by herself. She is a government teacher. She is the purest and kindest soul. Love her a lot. She is my best friend and the best grandma❤
I can understand the hardships and trying times your Grandma must have gone through since an early age. I adore her urge to face hardships, her resilience and her courage. Moreover, it serves as a motivation to countless others. Pranaam to your Grandma 🙏 Take good care of her 🙂
I am in my 70s. In our Golden Era it was melody. KL Saigal, Geeta Dutt, Hemanta, Rafi, Kishore, Mukesh, Talat, Lata, Asha, Sulakshana, SD, Bhupen were great singers. Shankar-Jaikishen, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, SD, RD, Salil Chowdhuri, Bhupen, Hemanta, Naushad, Khayaam, OP Nayaar were the famous composers. It was pure music and not aided by machines to cover up the flaws. Lyrics were extremely good, sensible and meaningful. Koi lauta de mere woh sunhere din. I have most of the old melodies in my library in all formats. Not a single day passes in my twilight years without listening to my favourite tunes. Wish everyone happy listening to the lovely songs of Golden Era.
Being born in 1948 n I'm South Africa, we were deprived of having a 📻 station, fortunately we were blessed to have wedding functions often, we had huge blaring horns that played All, if not most of these memorable songs....now that I live here in India, those memorable days r still with me...
All these were soulful. Mohd Rafi, Lata, Mukesh, Asha, Kishore Kumar, Geetha Dutt, Manna Dey, Hemant Kumar and Talat Mehmood were all good and soulful singers. Why don't the present music composers give us the same type of of 1950s to 2000 yrs songs. Nowadays it only noise.
I was born in 1950.I was growing by hearing those hindi mmusic by shamshad begum, noorjehan, surayya, madhubala, m😭kesh, raffi, hemanth kumar etc, always singing by my elder sisters and brothers. That songs were my lullaby. Now being 73 I love those old sweet memmories. Of melody's
You belong to my generation. I was born in 1950 too (9th of July). I am glad that we share the same sentiments. All the names of the playback singers you have mentioned are also my favourites. We can never hear such divine voice in a hundred million years. Gone are those wonderful years.
Great selection! I think this collection has all the real signs of truly great music - no matter how many times you hear it, you never get bored! On the contrary, fresh and ever-greater treasures seem to emerge from its depths on each hearing. And this process goes on endlessly... Ultimately, you are completely overwhelmed, and left wondering how you could have possibly missed all this greatness in the thousands of times you heard it before!
This is my opinion. Nothing can be compared to old songs. The music alone can lull you to sleep. The melodious voices of the singers bring you to a different world. These songs are balm to our souls. Thanks you for uploading these songs.
Love from Pakistan.. I'm in my 20s but still love to dive deep into this... All these songs drives me insane, seems like I've left sm thing in past... Feel a connection with that era... Welcome 2021
That era was a beautiful testament to simplicity and depth. Its charm, untouched by excessive technology, evoked truly unforgettable and deeply moving days. Let's revive its essence and bring back those enchanting times.

A Mumbai kid from 1944 that I am, growing up without ever having a radio at home, I used to listen to these songs as a kid, walking the streets and listening to blaring radios from others' houses, and made my songs my own! What a childhood in Dadar it was, with many Bollywood stars living less than a mile away.
My goodness what a master pieces! A divine voice. What a mental peace and full of energies around. I wish the time to stop ticking and let me stay forever to listen this.

There's so much I can say about each nostalgic memory the songs bring to me ...................

These songs created in the 50’s 60’s and early 70’s are a classical gems. The singers, the poets and the musical directors assembled unknowingly that they were making history never to be surpassed. What a joy for listeners. Mumtaz khan. ( Pakistani )
