Matt you mustn't take off your thumb of the controller. Just hold it straight into the direction you want it to go. If you let it go it goes a bit right and "resets" what you did. loving the vids & I hope it helped ;)

Matt, you have to hold the left trigger in the direction you are shooting with taking penalties. You're letting go after you direct it which results in the ball flying off.
