People only Hate on Skar Cuz they sell direct to keep the cost down! Sundown & other over priced companies have a middle man which in turn the price rolls on to the consumer!!! Do your research and you will find that Skar skv2 amps & Sundown amps come from the same building house and if Parker gets for instance the Skar skv2 200 . 4 look at the amp guts & you will see with your own eyes they are the same!!! You can tell thinks alot of sundown and not so much skar. my whole truck is skar mids & highs & started with 150.4's too.
Skar amps are not exactly the same as sundown. The circuit design used by the the build house in China is a generic design used by many companies. The difference between brands is in the quality of parts used and options that can be added to the final product like bass knobs, clip lights, type of race connectors etc. The fact they send out subs that dont even have the push terminals on straight tells you what kind of quality your getting. Their products may perform well but the clock is ticking on the amount of time they will be functioning. Skar straight up copies sundown designs and overall appearance and tries to get customers based on sun sundown's deserved reputation. Extremely shady business practices, I wouldn't support that company for any reason.

Hell yeah glad you reviewed this sub as it's the same one I have, I'm only running it on an audiopipe 1500 tho and in a smaller box and it still beats hard in my trailblazer, I was really looking forward to the rms test as I'm looking to get a bigger amp and maybe another vxf in the future. Got a buddy with 2 DDX 12 in a custom box 1 ohm on a 2k amp . The subs get see about 1200 a piece due to him sitting at 14v . They definitely take the power and produce some serious SPL. Box costed more than the subs. But it's worth it with SPL subs .
wish SKAR would send 12" subs to Hawaii, I've been wanting to try a VXF 12 since I've seen it on your channel and others. there are some shops that sell SKAR 12s & 15s, but the mark up price here in Hawaii is crazy. Mahalos for all the awesome videos bro
Roughly 20 Years ago stereo equiptment was quite different but, I ran a cadence electronic crossover because it offered a 7 volt line driver then 2 kicker 240 amp's into 2 fosgate H X 12'S now the amps had been mailed to kicker and rebuilt and from what I was told the pushed a hair more than factory but even still they probably only pushed 350-400 watt bridged down. I ran one duel 4 sub per amp at two ohm now I could have and probably should have ran a duel 1 but we hit 144 our first time in a competition and mind you, there was mad junk under the seat which makes me wonder what it really hit but when I hear 2800 watt I would expect higher #'s I guess! But back then things were alot different!

BTW, having the rear interior panel removed decreases a 1/2 dB or so because the sound waves become trapped inside all of those holes of the hollow body cavities. Need to keep setups consistent during dB tests. IMO the VXF has a BETTER voice coil. PD needs to keep comparisons unbiased by simply presenting the facts, eliminating the "I think.." or "IMO" or feelings overall because it's persuading the majority of viewers. I'd like for him to conduct tests like a scientist does. Google it if anyone is unfamiliar with the rules.
That is very impressive on the amount of spl that sub had. Your box looks smaller than the prior videos? Subs handle more power and better for spl in small boxes.
Hey Parker, I loved my VXF Subs, It’s funny that you talked about how thin the basket is on some parts. Mine broke when i got rear ended. Left me with a spine injury so a pretty bad crash but honestly I never had trouble with the basket except when i got rear ended but I guess you can expect that on impact of a bad crash

Which subwoofer will you recommend the Toro Force 12 1500 watts RMS or the skar vxf 12-in. I'm planning on buying a pair of subwoofers and I'm trying to see which one I should go with .even the CT sounds meso 12 which one would you prefer for SQL/SPL hybrid.

I know this is random but have you ever used an earthquake slaps passive radiator? I’m working with some tight space (2.2cf) behind my f-250 rear seat. Thought about 2 skar shallow 12s and 2 12” passive radiators.

did you get a new mic???? listen to the bass volume differance between the ZVX, and the VXF. is the VXF realy that much better? also, how does it get lower, if the xmaxx is 13mm less than the ZVX
Parker why would you buy the dual 4ohm and not a dual 2ohm if you're only running one of them? Ya should have got the dual 2 and then even if ya add another one later on you can wire to a 2ohm final or half ohm which your amp should be stable down to half and able to extract the most power out of it wired that low

Hey parker is the VFX a better performing sub then the orion hcca 12"?? I'm doing a single 12" system atm for both SpL n SQ I want something that gets loud n proud but also sounds good doing so.. n I used to have 4 orion hcca 12.2s on 4 orion hcca 4500s. It was a evil ass system 161.5 db my highest score ever from it. And music it pushed 159.8 which was nice but I never listen to music that loud I normally run rap songs in the 134 db to 141 DB ranges the 130s it sounds perfect ya know. The 140s on music is just to loud unless it a damn good song lmao. But anyway I'm doing a single 12" n my sub choices atm are the VFX 12 D2 , hcca 12.2 , sundown SA v2 , sundown X v2... And then the Skar Zfx or whatever it is the biggest Skar 12.. anyway those are the subs I'm choosing between
Ran 2 on a rp3500 for 1 year and finallyy tinsel leads broke. It was good till then. The emf bamhammer and Wolfram au 12 are the same thing but better, skar is the cheaper option

I had a single 12 on a RP2000 in a 2cu ported box in my Tundra. I don’t thing you could ask for more except another one and double power. Definitely a sq sub but holds it’s on on spl, just not as sting as Xcode, in that area!! Bottom line..you won’t be disappointed!!!
I was between this and the zvx 15 to replace the rockford Fosgate T2 15 that had the coil separate until i can get it re coned I went with the zvx but now im wishing I got this one.
Have you micd the thickness of the basket, and do you intend to do strenuous things that will affect the frame. Talking about not picking. Kind of like saying terminals only take 8g speaker wire and using that against speaker. Like you need 6g . 😵💫 ZVX is great too but the FS on the 12in sux for listening.
I had a vxf12.hit nice but i didn't care for the slim space between the top and spider with a double baffle or even triple baffle.so i feel unless theyre inverted its not a good design..so i got a vxf15 now👌
99% of sub videos concentrate on SPL. How is the sound quality of these subs? The price is hard to ignore but I don't want BOOM but SQ. Which are better for sealed box?
I have a evl 12 with a rp1500 and after a few minutes bumpin I start smelling something burning. Amp gain is at about half and I already had a previous one do the same thing until the cone blew off one day so skar sent me a replacement evl and now it's starting again I just don't get it. I'm not even putting anything up too far and it's doing this crap

Please pay attention the TI basket 12" you cannot have really thick baffle. There's not really a lot of space from the mounting surface to the spider landings for the sub to breathe.
Great review I had the Skar SVR which was really good for the money but upgraded to the VXF And it eats 1700rms easily and has really good sound quality, this and the XFL seem to be the ones to to pick depending on price

I’ve been running 2 vfx15s on 3200 watts. The amp died before the subs so now they are both on their own rp2k and they genuinely swallow 2000 watts for 2 hours a day. I think my back hatch window will break before these subs. I’m definitely a retired sundown fan.
Another thing that would tremendously up the "sq" factor of many of these subs is a high quality korean board amp. I went from the Skar SKv2 4500.1 to the BASS 12K and while the 12k is louder, it doesn't have the "depth" that the SK did, if that makes sense. It doesn't sound as "real"
Final some one that agreed with me. I removed a sundown sax 2500 for a taramps 3k it was loud but sound really bad. All bass tone sounds flat with no depth to the bass. Sundown sounds way better and it's 12 years old

The sub has to soften up and loosen up its called a break in period' just like a 2 stroke dirtbike or a new motor for a car supposed to take it easy on them for a while amd then they will loosen up
