The 2 ladies in the alley were comedy. The younger one thought you wanted them to make the coffee for you 😂. The next guy you gave the hat and shirt to thought you wanted him to model the clothes you just bought 😅. Vietnamese people are some of the friendliest welcoming people you can meet. That guy grilling the meat woulda invited you to eat with him and woulda called all his friends and family over to meet you.

You almost ticked every box....you were kind to the locals, were an aussie rascal, went some places others probably wouldnt go but you were missing one thing that makes the viral content - the unicorn, the black swan event. Depends on the item, but I would say approx 1/4 of the first price they give you … but some vendors are just honest straight up, some want to play games and say a ridiculous price up front 😂

# 4 Watches - Thirty years ago, playing basketball with my 8 yr old son and one of his friends, I got my watch band snagged and broken. I put it in my pocket for a couple months, finally took the band off and just had the face. Lost it ! Went for several years with no watch, didn't really need one. When I retired from the U.S. Post Office I did get a watch from my supervisor - nice but in the 25 years since I got it, never wore it even once. It sits on a shelf. My wife got me an Invicta on a cruise line tour, wore it twice, it is in its box in a drawer. Everyone has a cell phone, why do you need a watch too.?

# 3 the sales folks try so hard to make it sound like you are taking the food right off their table. They are almost in tears. You want to see tears, my wife would hide me around a corner and go bargain for something and when she has her price, she would bring me to see what she got. When the clerk sees a foreigner her look could kill.

the tshirt was expensive. They sell for $2 to locals. The ladies in the fake market can be very rude if you suggest a reasonable, lower price. Tip: If she's shouting out "sir!sir!", at that age, she really wants to make the sale.

Then i learned to just step aside and let her do her thing. Some places look fwd to the challenge.
