Yeah no kidding - I found myself smiling like a kid in a candy shop every time I learned something new... I was like yeah I need to make a really in depth guide on Sephiroth. Way too much going on here to learn from.
Honestly I’m shocked. Shocked because his gameplay is far more deep than what we imagined at first, having follow-up moves with triangle like that and all. Shocked because he has moves we never seen before. Shocked because you are the first person to actually discover/ showed them. Thank you a lot for that. Small request though. Would it be possible for you to record all those moves as a list, normal speed and slow mo? I found that many moves are REALLY awesome, but it’s hard to see them correctly because of the camera or the monster hiding Sephiroth. My last hope is that devs thought about us and made Sephiroth fully playable nice the game is cleared. So deep gameplay for 1 hour playtime is far too little…
Thanks and it all depends on if I have time to make another Sephiroth Video. I like the idea it's just finding the time. This video took me 6 hours to make.
I don’t mean to sound hyperbolic but I am astounded by how much thought and detail when into Sephiroths gameplay. Aesthetically and mechanically, it’s flawless. My childhood self would be losing his mind if he saw this and I’m trying not to lose sight of that.
Makes sense they made him superior because you need to feel his power otherwise it's like WOW this guy is strong but in combat...eh. It's mood, atmosphere and consistency.
Incredible that he's got such a fleshed out moveset for what we so far know to just be a temporary character. My inner child is doing triumphant somersaults for sure. If there isn't some way to play as him more during the main game, you just know this is the first thing that modders will be all over once the game releases on PC.
Yeah it's wild how many combos he has - I didn't know these things during my livestream - I was playing around with Sephiroth offline and learned so much. Hit record and started editing. More guides to come with everyone else from the Junon Demo.
@Kamusari92 in remake project I wanted to play story as sephiroth more but I can play as cloud &avalanche members! But I'm curious what will be sephiroth endgame!!!!
Yeah it’s really cool that they made him playable albeit for a very short section of the game but I’m not complaining. It was also cool to play as him in Smash Ultimate
Yeah honestly when I was streaming the Demo I had no idea any of these abilities had two parts - I just assumed they had a one press phase and that was it. During my offstream playtime, I noticed the Button Prompt change on the bottom left corner on almost everything he did. I hit record and made the guide asap.
Really good video man. Great info. Just started playing the demo yesterday and was definitely missing a lot of Sephiroth's power with the triangle button becoming such an important follow up during abilities and even limit breaks. Great breakdown and explanation. Thanks. Looking forward to going back in better armed to get sephiroth to fight as good as he looks!😅 One tiny observation cos I'm a pedant - Octa slash is with an 'a'. Oct A slash rather than like octopus. Sorry, I know it's a tiny thing but I cant help myself.
I was too! During my livestream I was just button mashing - when I set some time aside away from the stream, I hit record and learned waaaay more just taking my time. I really studied and analyzed what the UI was doing as I was attacking. This video took hours to make as I didn't want to miss anything. Lot's to unpack with Sephiroth.
Please this is extremely important for fans, keep going, the 21st of February the second part of the demo will be available, wondering how to play Red XIII, Tifa, Aerith & Barret, if Cloud gameplay changed, I believe the others too. Perfect high quality video. :)
You know what's funny is during my livestream of the demo, I didn't know any of these either. I was just button mashing having a blast. When I played the Demo outside of streaming I started to understand a lot more. I hit record and started doing the voiceovers asap as I got the feeling not many discovered the combat of him just yet. Lot's to unpack here.
Yeah great question - it's very inconsistent. You have to basically just aim the camera at the point of interest and hold square. It's almost like Cloud but Clouds is way more consistent this time around compared to Remake
@@oxfordking I just found an even more consistent way to do it from a post I saw on Reddit! If you push the left directional stick directly toward the enemy and then press Circle, you will essentially warp on top of it (the enemy) which will make you airborne!
The only thing i think missed or I didnt hear was the dodge move followed by triangle with full aura bar isnt just an attack after a dodge it builds limit! And builds limit fast. You can dance around enemies doding and building limit almost ad nausuem except its fun!
Here is hoping we get to use him more in the game, perhaps have entire sections dedicated to his time after Nibelheim with whatever the hell he was doing in between then and Northern Crater. Yes, that would be after he went full psycho but it would flesh him out and, lets face it, EVERYONE wants more of his gameplay.
Yeah we're talking about that same thing here in the comments. There is no way they put this much effort for a short section. I'm thinking VR Missions at the very least.
If possible could you showcase to be a hero combat? Or advanced endgame combat for cloud and the rest of the team. I want to know how these world record holders do their stuff I have 400 hours in and I still don't feel like I'm even better than average at combat with cloud
Do you have to wait a beat before hitting the Triangle button for those follow-up moves (Zanshin Rising, Infernal Gate, Octaslash Prime) in order for it to be successfully inputted and executed, or can you just start spamming the button immediately after the respective prelim attack in order to trigger it?
I was expecting Sephiroth to be shown off as some ridiculously overpowered character, but its makes sense they had to balance him with the other characters.
I can't seem to get air attacks at all using sephorith. I dash then hold attack and he just shoots magic. When I use dash then hold attack with Cloud he instantly goes in the air. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thank u if u reply to me.
Yeah so with Sephiroth you'll dash with the enemy either locked onto or focused on. They need to be in the air. Hit dash once, no attacking, he will dash to the enemy in the air, then you attack. Cloud is Different which requires Dodge first then hold Square which you know of.
@@oxfordking ok thanks very much. Just seems random to me. When I'm fighting the lizard boss and cloud is captured I can't seem to dash in the air to rescue him. Then when it's on the ceiling I can't seem to reach him at all. So I just dash then wait? Sorry for asking again but I want to be able to play this at my full potential 👍 thanks again.
@@piphead Yeah no worries - love the comments and questions - basically lock on to one of the bosses legs, hit Circle and Dash up then attack. TBH it's super dodgy and almost feels like he teleports when he feels like it lol Cloud's version feels much more intuitive.
@@oxfordking yea thought so too. I was getting frustrated with it. Gonna try it out now. Thx for the advice. Have a great day sir and can't wait to finally play this when it comes out!
About this peeps when exactly do you see them? Because they just appear sometimes as I can see, usually it say ATB under the bar and you can't see those
By doing ATB Moves - I should have expanded on that but I was already 6 hours in on this video editing etc I was just drained. I am putting up a new Tifa Combat Guide today where I explain this in that Guide.
