That’s what I love about this anime it has some of the strongest female characters in fact the men tend to be more weak sometimes love how it balances it out and doesn’t sexualise any character and even if they did it would obviously be a joke lol
I dropped hell lot of anime for over sexualization but Gintama? Nope. Treating females as they deserve to be and not some fanservice shit. Hella love this show
@@m66kanWhat the fuck are you talking about? She is written extremely well & can handle herself. You got shit taste so just say that but I respect your shitty opinion.
I love a good strong female lead, which is why it's so hard for me to watch a majority of shoujou anime (even though I like the genre if they do it well). I would love it a bit more if they werent drawn with such impossible or absurd proportions or have their underwear show for everything. Which is why I can't stand to watch some shounen anime. There is a fine line of anime which I can watch and a majority of that is filled with Gintama. I'm glad that there is so many episodes because I get to watch something new....and even if I finally finish watching everything, I have the pleasure of watching it over and over again.
@King Sheheryar Never asked anyone to change it because I know that it's targeting their main demographic (boys) which I'm obviously not a part of. I just stated my anime preferences and how I'm grateful that some anime/manga is drawn in a way that's pleasing to me as well.
@Sheheryar Kamran again, just stating *my* preference. I never said there werent any good anime girl characters in shounen, I said there were only few that I liked. Plus the word shounen means boys which literally means anime created for the boy demographic. Shoujou (means girl) is created for the girl demographic. I never said that girls can't watch shounen anime or that guys can't watch shoujou anime, but when an anime/manga is created for a specific demographic the art style is different accordingly. For example, shounen anime does have very pronounced girl features (big boobs, harem with girls, extremely cute "tiny" girls, underwear flashes, nose bleeds, etc.) Whereas the shoujou anime gives more focus to the men (reverse harem with guys, more pronounced "handsome" features, with tons of pink, sparkle and flower backgrounds) while the girl is mostly given common features so that they can be more relatable.
@@goddessyamato5238 I know it's shounen which is exactly why I mentioned Gintama. I meant "there is a fine line of (shounen) anime which I can watch". I didn't feel the need to specify since it's well known that Gintama is shounen and since I was talking about shounen anime in the previous line. I also get that most shounen females are badass, but since I can't stand seeing awful proportions (unusually large chests, underwear flashing for no reason, etc) it's so off putting that they just take me out of the story. For example fairytail, as much as I do like the story, it's so annoying when most of the time Lucy's clothes get ripped or burned away, or the highlight in most of their festivals is the girls just cosplaying. But you don't see that in Gintama. The women have more normal proportions, the only time they do add absurd proportions or have scantily clad women is for a gag, (where a goddess gets arrested for being an exhibitionist). It doesn't take me out of their story.
Kagura has a ton of insane feats but my favorite might be her slapping a fired cannonball away with an umbrella, with enough force to send it back at the castle like it was fired from a cannon. That’s superhuman reflexes, strength, endurance, and agility in one feat lmao. I say agility because she literally aims her swing at one point and fucking hits it.
My favourite feat is when she caught multiple bullets of Matako with ease, even while she was literally airbourne and was dropping down towards the very gun that was firing bullets towards her. That makes her speed like mach 3 or something. (Many people appreciates Kagura's brute strength but her speed feats are underrated.)
1:40-1:55 HOME RUN!! I just noticed something. When yato grow up does their umbrella also grow up? Well when kagura grew up her umbrella also became big!!!
No, they can make their umbrella to fit their size or fighting style. Abuto is a grown up, but doesn't have as enormous umbrella as Housen or young Umibouzu. Also the handle is not the same. The series umbrella has crooked handle, while Adult Kagura in the movie has a straight handled umbrella.
Kagura has two umbrellas in the second movie, the large one that she uses to fight and the smaller one that she carries to protect herself from the sunlight. You can see in some scenes she has the bigger one on Sadaharu's back while she holds the smaller one
A reason why Gintama is the most goated anime, is in the Ryugu Palace Arc, literally all the side characters carried the arc, gintoki didn’t do anything until the end, and I loved that.
Gintama is mostly a funny show. But it has a consistent plot. And some of the best arcs in history of action anime. I often rewatch those arcs for fun. If you want I can tell you. -yoshiwara in flames arc -red spider arc -courtesan of a nation arc (These 3 are with tsukuyo) -benizakura arc (also made into a movie) -okita mitsuba arc (very very sad...) -kabukichou four divas arc -thorny arc (its super funny but with amazing action) -school of beam saber arc -grim reaper arc These are some of my most fav arcs from old gintama. In the newer chapters, gintama got more serious but for me personally, it lost its touch. Here are the last few arcs: -grim reaper arc -farewell shinsengumi arc -shogun assassination arc But I didnt enjoy these as much as the older arcs. Please definitely check these out if you can. I would do anything to forget and rewatch them because i enjoyed them so much :D
And ofc...apart from arcs, there are also some amazing individual episodes. Like episode 153 , 250, 111, 189... (these are all either super funny or super sad) Anyway, what im trying to say is that...Gintama is amazing!!
Their is no meaning to compare other author's characters with each other sakura is much better and strong female character in compare to her own universe since naruto's author don't know what to do with female characters where in gintama I respect how they written female characters strong but not use them as fan service by oversexulize them like hinata who is basically only for fan service.
I always liked how Sorachi made good use of Kagura's abilities, he never side lined her because in any other show they'll give Shinpachi or another guy more spotlight, but nah, Kagura fought at her fullest in all her fights. Her Yoshiwara fight was so cool that it actually convinced me to watch the show.
@@monkeyDluffy-hj2rk Kagura is not like that, her character wants to protect, doesn't makes sense comparing her to Kamui or her Papi, she doesn't want t be like them. Still I remember how she helped Gin fight Utsuro or when she saved Shinpachi and a bunch of other stuff where she even got hurt but kept going. I really like that about her.
Yeah, it still gave me goosebumps whenever i watch that scene, her tone is so desperate to make Gintoki aware totally awesome. The VA's of her really doing a good job for that😣
The moment when kagura become a true yato is the scene that i like, more than pain stab hinata and naruto become a beast or any rage scene from another anime
my all time top fight scene with any main heroine is kagura vs abuto, when i watched that episode for the first time I absolutely lost it, even today i freak out cause it goes hard
Wow sakura and kagura is the characters that i love the most. I like strong female characters and i can't compare these two bcz they slay in their own way💋💋
So should Oda, I always want a weak, abusive heroine gets their taste of their medicine because they’re are the ones who keeps getting away with it. And remember Robin used to have high bounty? Now she’s getting sidelined

Many animes tend to be like that, you know. All funny at first, but as they get deeper into the story line, it gets darker and sadder. I respect your opinion and very happy to see that people appreciate it, but I don't think it lost its touch. Some characters need to meet fates like that to pave way for something stronger (emotions, inspirations, etc.), and that's what made Gintama it is until now. I just finished the manga and it justified all the events that took place :)
Kagura chan is 🔥 my fav character from Gintama. That's what I want from a heroine cool, badass, strong and at the same time cute and funny My current fave female characters; Misaka Mikoto Hinagiku Katsura Kagura - "Gintama" Erza Scarlet Houki Shinonono Aria Holmes Kanzaki Shana - "Shakugan no Shana" Chihaya Ginko Sora Morgiana Tohka & Kotori Erina Nakiri Rukia Kuchiki Aoi Kuneida Asuna Himeko - sket dance Mirai Kuriyama
Kagura is prolly the best female character in all of anime. She's powerful and witty. Its just frustrating to watch female characters in shounen anime cuz either they are absolutely useless or are just there for the soul purpose of love interest. Tbh the fan service is not even an issue. All I wish for mangakas and anime creators is to either have strong female characters or just dont have any at all.
