Damn lol , nobody said learning guitar was easy because it's not. My pinky is trying soooooo hard to work with the rest of my fingers. We got this guys stay committed and practice
It's always been something I wanted to learn since I was 12, but I put it off for so long I'm only starting now at age 42😅 but I'm loving it just wana get to the point of playing well.
LOOOL .. in the beginning that finger will be opposing in every direction from the brain .It will refuse and be jerky and always wanting to ride high . In time .. The pinky in my experience is the most controllable after time . and definitely necessary for explosive leads and scale/mode runs
@@bishalmagar7079 no man just practice this maybe after 2 weaks - 1 month u will find ur pinky more control able and after u can control ur pinky u just need to speed up little bit every day
My struggle for 2 weeks of playing guitar is my ring finger have mind of its own and I can't put enough energy for my pinky to press the thick strings. Now trying to lessen the hovering distance between fingertips and the strings. There's a small improvement from the first week, taking about from 5 minutes to 30 minutes practice a day. Keep it up fellow strugglers! Keep on practicing.
Wow, it's difficult to keep those fingers down near the strings! Just a couple minutes of that and I feel like I've been doing forearm curls. There's an invisible force pulling my pinky away from the strings.
Have been following your 10 day beginner’s course and love it. All your instructions are easy to understand albeit not not always to do because my fingers often have their own ideas.. Thank you for your dedication to teach us!
Did the Spider and the Pentatonic for 10 Minutes each today. After that i did some Chord- muskle exercise. After that i tryed my Nemesis, the walkthroughs in Green Manalishi and Viola, them worked like Magic. Boring Exercises got the best results.
Hey Andy! thank you for these exercises. you have told some of these here and there before and I was hoping that there were a way to get them all together nice and organised. and Bam ! There we have it now! I appreciate it man! keep up the good work :)
This first iteration is an interesting way to learn/teach this spider exercise, I was always taught not to let your fingers hover over the string but instead to start by keeping all 4 fingers placed on the string while moving 1 at a time, making sure not to let the other fingers move at all during each individual fingers accent up the strings. Its definitely much more difficult the way I was taught but it also drilled into me more finger control and finger on string spacing etiquette to allow for better sound when multiple fingers are placed closer to strings that arent being played.
Hey, Andy i like the way you explain how to make a finger excersice...Really it is a great help for the beginners.. Thank you so much ....Upload more such videos..
@@ygetv I'm Doing very good can play every chord all the strumming as needed can play lead too working on fingerstyle not perfect though but I can say I'm going good 😊
That was a superb explanation....i was doing mistake of putting my finger first then strum, which lead to no synchronization, now i got the thing....thanx Andy ...It was very important for me as a beginner...now my hands will open up
Very well explained Sir🙏...i saw many guitar tutorials but none of those are like urs...ur explanation and demonstration are really too good👌...one can get to learn guitar from its very basics by watching ur tutorials...love from India❤❤🙏🙏
I wish utube was available 20 years ago.. I was just getting into guitar, I watched this, gave it a try for an hour.. and I feel like I wanna give up already 😅
Andy, my little finger just doesn't want to stretch as yours does. Is it just practice or am I resigned to not being able to stretch? I have small hands and the little finger seems to point in towards the ring finger. Thanks Trevor
thank you very much for this yt channel... really help me in this quarantine time... i hv so much time,so i decide to learn guitar... hope someday i will play guitar verywell...
Thought I was on my own with the complete lack of finger control. My pinky natural moves way off the strings as I use other fingers. Hand muscles are struggling. Now I'll keep it up and worry less about playing a song and just focus on training my hand and fingers to behave 😂😂👍👍👍👍
You will get it with practice. My fingers did what they wanted for a while. I can start with upstrokes or downstrokes pretty good now and do the runs pretty quickly as well. And I'm old lol. Good luck everyone.
Hi Andy, love all your videos which are so clear and well explained. I have a problem with my fingers which are really short and doubt if I would be able to play; I so want to.
I have really tiny hands and I'm trying to learn the electric bass now, I've played the viola for ~3 years now and I'm still having trouble with its (comparatively) tiny neck 🥲. I just wanna play like someone with long fingers lmao
Keep all fingers on strings and move one by one down and then up to develoo control and make sure other fingers dont go up. After mastering this do andys excercise
*1st option* 3rd fret on the A string 3rd fret on D string 2nd fret on G string And fist finger barring 1st fret of B and e string *2nd option* (simpler) 3rd fret on D string 2nd fret on G string 1st fret on B string
Of course there is a way to do the F without baring, but you should learn and practice bars as they are a very important part of rhythm guitar. Remember: in order to improve, you have to get out of your comfort zone. Good Luck. Edit - Grammar.
