We show you what's inside, what everything is used for, and how to securely mount it in a vehicle. Our choice for best first aid kit for camping. This overland first aid kit will provide you with the peace of mind to travel to remote places. More than the typical fak, this goes beyond firstaid kit basics and enters the trauma kit realm.
This first-aid kit from Outer Limit Supply provides top quality trauma dressings, medications, and life saving tools. It also has all the necessary medical supplies to treat simple wounds, abrasions, and illnesses.
Here's a link to the kit: amzn.to/3qtC9tt
As always, a tool kit is only as good as the users knowledge. We recommend taking a Wilderness First Aid course. You can find one near you usually by asking local outdoor gear retailers.

Pro Tip on the Tourniquet. Tighter is always better, if you half assed apply it, it can actually increase the arterial pressure and result in a faster bleed out.

Great kit. One thing I have on mine is a gallon ziploc bag. As you are using the stuff I put the trash in the bag. Not only does it keep the trash, but when you get back you can see what you used. Sometimes writing down stuff that you used goes out the door with all the adrenaline.

These "complete kits" need a label on them somewhere that lists each item's expiration life. Meaning, tape that loses it's stick. Sealed sterile bandages that lose their seal. Pills and creams that lose their effectiveness. And so on. I know I've opened up kits I've built years before to find items unusable. Also, storing them in hot cars over the summer helps reduce their life, so that should also be addressed. I think it would make it easier for the consumer to know what should be replaced and when.

1# recommendation is to take that TQ out of the plastic and prep it to be ready by folding the time strap to the other side. Seconds count went you need a TQ

Just as some off-road driving lessons are the first 'modifications' you should get when you first start driving off-road, the best 'modification' to any first aid kit is a comprehensive first aid course, such as a Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder course. On line videos are one thing....first hand experience in doing assessments, wound care, and evacuation methods are the way to build confidence and skills. Endorse quick clot and Israeli dressings as additions. Good video. Thanks!

One good thing to use for electrolytes when heat exhaustion is an issue are those emergent-c packets. Fairly cheap and not a bad thing to have around the house anyways, so keeping them stocked is pretty easy, beats gatorade hands down. Also, I would say go to a real CPR/first aid class. Oh another cheaper thing to use is vet wrap, way cheaper than the 1st aid aisle stuff for humans. This reminds me I have to go through my first aid kit, I bet some things are getting real close to expiring. I put one together in a tackle box. Olso remember if your flushing wounds, or end up having a nasty thing in your eye having a clean saline wash is very helpful.

Lots of good stuff and a great video (as always). Two things I didn’t see listed that are pretty much mandatory for wound/bleeding care are an Israeli bandage and quikclot gauze. We carried both in our individual first aid kits in the military, and they’re literally life savers.

Most pre-made kits a grossly overpriced. You can buy a dry box and all these contents and more for far less money by doing the build yourself.
