Thank you for putting your time into these videos. Thanks to you iv purchased a ryobi 1800 electric pressure washer, Uber flex 50ft, all the quick releases and an Amazon gun and foam cannon( installed 1.1). Car has never looked better ,so much foam and the set up has gave me no issues. 🤙🏽
The # 1 winner is The MJJC # 2 MTM #3 Griot's Boss, As far as foaming goes But The Griots Got Them All Beat With That Auto Mixing . The Griots Boss with that auto mix that is a game changer to foam canons I fill my Griots bottle full to the top with just pre wash soap (NO WATER ) and the canon does the rest and it does not use up any soap i can foam like 50 cars and still have half of the canon full of soap Love that Auto mix I own all the winners 👍
A few month ago you did a video on Griot's brilliant cannon. As a result of that video I purchased it. I would put it up against any of these. I am super pleased. Your review was mostly favorable, but I have had terrific results withit and can't immagine liking a foamer more. Thanks
@@imjoshv love all your videos! just purchased the foam cannon from your site (can’t wait to get it!) not sure if I read it correctly, but does yours come with the “upgraded” better mesh filter?
You should have thrown in a AmazonBasics or other $20 cannon just to see the difference. The AmazonBasics cannon I have with a 1.1 orifice does more than an adequate job for me with Adams Mega Foam, and I'm using the Ryobi 1800psi/1.2gpm washer.
I have the exact same BUT i cannot get the foam Cannon to shoot a wide stream no matter how many ways i adjust it. Shoots out like a foam laser. Any help?
@@WoopdeDoo Make sure to change the orifice in the soap cannon to the smaller 1.1 option and if necessary, change your soap and or mix volume. You can get good, dense, foam with the right setup.
I'm sure other brands do it too, but Griots has soap that screws right into the gun, and the ability to adjust the soap collection is an awesome and super convenient combo.
I agree the Griots with that auto mix that is a game changer to foam canons I fill my Griots bottle full to the top with just pre wash soap and the canon does the rest and it does not us up any soap i can foam like 50 cars and still have half of the canon full of soap Love that Auto mix
@@TonysLawnCare215 Totally agree! Cars with Keav channel reviewed the boss and it’s astounding how little soap is used with automix. Over time that could add up to some real money saved.
For a charity I washed 30 cars in 4hrs. and using the Griot's Boss I could use straight soap and that saved me a ton of time as I would have to refill it many times to do that many cars
One other thing to mention. Since it's winter currently - I want to reinforce using warm water in your foam Cannon. The foam output is dramatically improved using warm water vs ice cold out of the tap. The difference isn't AS extreme if you you have very soft water, but it's still there. For most of us though with hard water, and during the winter, it's night and day.
Great reviews! I think that small ball on the MTM is for when you rotate the end from vertical to horizontal to help lock it in place. If you look at the back of the grey part there are holes for it to fit into.
thanks for the comparison video. I was considering the adams because I use some of their products. I ordered the mjjc from your link and hope it works well for me also!
The little ball on the mtm foam cannon is for the horizontal and vertical. When you twist the head it better helps keep it in that position and you will hear a click when you twist the head vertical or horizontal
It's interesting that people still consider the MTM a top performer. Ours has made great foam from day one, but after that the positives sort of go away: Pros: Great, uniform foam Cons: Thin neck and need for a funnel gets old fast; the plastic bottle on metal body causes the bottle to frequently strip if you're not careful; fan adjustment knozzle is too loose and we constantly have to reset it; syphon tube isn't as nice as others like the Griot's and the MJCC; although it doesn't affect the performance, ours is covered in rust; the plastic below the dilution adjustment knob cracked on ours and leaks; expensive considering all of these cons Four or five years ago we were very happy with the purchase, but through the power of competition, it's heyday has come and gone. The Griot's Boss has been a treat to use over the past couple of months. We'll see how she holds up!
Hey Josh. I used all your links to copy your setup almost to the T. Everything works great so far. I got the new upgraded version of the Ryobi 1800, uberflex hose, quick connects, flexilla water hose, mckilian stubby gun, and tried the armor all foam Cannon from O'Reilly cause it was the only one around to test the setup. I ended up ordering the Boss and impatiently waiting for it to arrive tomorrow!, The metering tips and option to use a small bottle of soap is a really cool feature IMO. Thank you, and good luck to you and your channel!!!
Always enjoy the reviews. I’d like to add a few things with the metering tips. I use my foam cannon every 2 weeks or so. For me to be able to connect a product bottle instead of having to premix or use the large mouth bottles and then have to wash it out is a great feature. The tips meter the soap perfectly. It’s a pain to wash out the large mouth bottle every time I use the cannon. Not a cheap cannon but I find the metering tips save the mixing and cleanup hassle.
You already have the hose out when you're washing. To say that rinsing a bottle maybe twice is a pain.... That is about the laziest s*** I've ever hewrd
Excellent video. I like the reviews of all these foam cannons.I just ordered the MJJC I think is a good choice. it will arrive by the end of December 😢or January. Thanks mate for the info.
I have used a few different foam cannons and honestly haven't noticed a difference between them at all when using a 1.1 orifice. I would just suggest getting one with a brass screw neck at the top of the bottle. Those will last a lot longer. I ordered the cheap Amazon foam Cannon last month and got the MJCC delivered, lol. No complaints here.
One last thought before I forget. Brass is likely going to be just fine for our use and settings, but it's not as simple as the Navy having used it for a long time. The Navy has heavy heavy duty protection and corrosion resistance products on pretty much everything they're able to cover and protect. They also have a pretty fine tuned maintenance schedule and lots of manpower to get it all done. That said.... Not all stainless steel is the same and none of it is magically completely immune to corrosion, because nothing is. Furthermore, brass is a bit softer which can make for the occasional smoother fitting here and there. If you use a cheaper stainless fitting vs something like a good quality precisely machined mosmatic fitting you may notice it. Personally I consider most fittings disposable because they take a lot of wear and tear and thus I stick to brass. In applications where I know something is going to be submerged most of the time or exposed to chemicals, I'll spring for some 316 stainless stuff. This is why I use stainless steel nuts as a weight on my siphon tube.
yeah and a lot of the brass fittings today are poor quality brass and you got it right...disposable after some uses. not like the brass we saw years ago.
Love your channel but can’t get behind whenever you say you sell the mjjc foam cannon cheaper than Amazon after taxes and shipping on your website it’s actually more expensive than Amazon considering Amazon ships it for free.
I trashed my Griots foam cannons because they all developed rust. The Brilliant Finish as well as the Boss. Props to Griot's, as they did honor their warranty but having to return 3 foam cannons due to rust just made me give up. The rust always started with the pickup ball.
So I just watched this video a few days ago and ordered the Ridge Washer from Amazon for $32. Today I’m in Harbor Freight and they now carry the identical gun for $25, with the trigger lock, just a different color.
I purchased the adams foam cannon, I have the chemical guys, along with the cheap HF foam cannons… I did not receive the weighted straw? Not sure why, this is one of the reasons I purchased the adams. I’m noticing how quickly the attachments rust and it’s pretty amazing. My cheap HF foam cannon is clogged up and needs cleaned through. But up until now had been performing awesome for the price… can’t really blame it.. it sat for a few weeks in below freezing temperatures. I just wish these companies would reach out to the little guys.. who invest all the money they have in their products. As always your videos are super informative, thank you
Thank you for the MJJC information. I am looking forward to using it. Also thank you so much for matching Amazon's prices. I really appreciate this channel.
Just to add to the chemical guys bottle transparency. That bottle is super durable i wash daily and id say a week i drop it at least 3 times. But the soap looks nice and the bottle has measurements so i get a perfect mix ratio every time.
I recently got the CM foam cannon but after seeing these results, I'm returning mines & just ordered your unbranded version instead. Wished I seen this video sooner, but thats on me.
I think the griots brilliant finish foam cannon gives better results than all of these, but i may be slightly influenced since I only use it with adams mega foam. Either way, it produces the thickest foam I’ve ever had.
Josh, Thx for the most excellent review. I have been watching them all plus the pressure washer vids to get a setup of my own. I did decide on the Dewalt 2100 you just did a video of, because of its looks and compactness and your review. I also took advantage of Amazon and ordered the MJJC, Maxshine and a cheaper Astro model. I did all with the 1.1 and there really wasn't a contest as the MJJC performed so much better. Although I think I really liked the look and feel of the Maxine the best. I like the fatter nose and general feel. I also got a Yamatic hose and the Blue Uberflex 50' you love. I didn't even really unravel the one that came with the Dewalt and didn't get to test the Cosmetic, just from the feel you could know it was just like the Dewalt. As soon as I felt the Uberflex, it was spectacular, even though it ships in a plastic garbage bag. I think it's still important to have it laid out flat first for easy handling. I also got the quick connects and a new Aqua Joe fiber flex hose. Loved the hose and the hose QC. I didn't like the fact that if you use the QC on the Dewalt they will stick out further than the machine and also if you use it on the trigger, you can no longer store the trigger away in the built in storage compartment. I was thinking to just perhaps get the swivel and QC on the hose and not on the gun itself, if that makes sense. However and very important that I bought a couple different QC to try to convert the Dewalt handle into a stubby as you suggested in the review. The QC didn't feel like the thread would just easily thread on and I did not want to strip the handle threads. I do feel that I want to use it with the MJJC as a stubby and need to find a perfect fit QC for the Dewalt handle to use it. Can you please tell me which is the exact fit for it, since you have the machine in your garage? Lastly, I also bought the pressure monitor but forget to test it out but if you use the 3.0 tip on the Dewalt to get max GPM flow and bring the pressure to 1000 in the test, how does that equate to simply taking the tip off and now just connecting the MJJC foam gun, doesn't it just go right back to max pressure and lowest GPM? So I don't understand how the Max Flow GPM even applies using the foam gun. Does it only apply when you put that 3.0 tip on just to rinse? You could turn the dial on the foam gun for a water rinse as well? So I guess to simplify that, you want to use the gun for the foam then add that 3.0 15 degree tip you used in the video at all times for max rpm on the rinse? What difference does it really make compared to more or less if it is really only a rinse then? TYVM for the help. PS... I used Watermelon Snow Foam as well, unfortunately I could not say it even had a scent to it, which I was hoping it did.
Personally, I think foam cannons are a little overrated. And the cheap ones do a decent job. It's just throwing foam on it and what little change or difference is not a huge deal. If you get a decent one. But still fun videos to watch
The Chem Guys Big Mouth Foam Cannon works great. The trick is to use Chem Guys Mr. Pink foam or add an ounce of Mr Pink foam to whatever foam you are using. The foam comes out like shaving cream. Much thicker than my MTM Hydro Cannon which I always thought was awesome. The ergonomics of the Chem Guys Cannon is excellent. The clear bottle with built in measurements and wide opening is very convenient.
Have questions. -What size pressure washer do you want to use. I have a 3500 psi and i think it will be to much psi? -20 years ago I was talking with the supplier we had and he was telling me he had a mixture of the soap and some type of cleaner that would take the oxidation of paint. He said just mix the 2 in the pressure washer tank spray the machine or it worked great on boats, let it sit for a bit and rinse it off. Is there anything on the market today that will do that? -The orifice that you called in the video looks the same as what we called "jets" that we would change in Holly Carburetors for racing. -The video was great info! Thank you for doing this!
Nice video. I really like the in-depth review of all these foam cannons. Makes it easier to determine which foam cannon is best for the individual user.
My first foam cannon was a Chemical Guys unit (EQP339 TORQ Professional Foam Cannon) that has two things that I think are real problems. First, the base is too narrow - it looks about the same as the Chemical Guys unit you reviewed, though the bottle is HDPE (the cloudy plastic). It constantly falls over....why it hasn't broken I don't know. Second, the filler neck is too narrow, I'd guess no more than 1" inside diameter. Unless you use a funnel, it's easy to spill the soap while filling the bottle.
The MJJC is no longer a good value as it costs almost the same as the MTM or Griots one. When it was $59 it was a great value cause you were saving money while getting the performance of the top foam cannons.
I already own a gas powered pressure washer, 3000 psi. I really like these foam cannons. But is this pressure washer overkill for a good foam cannon? I’m just a hobbyist not a professional detailer.
It would be a very nice added feature for sure. I'd love to see how different foods effect my blood sugar levels without having to have a Dexcon device somewhere else on my body.
Great comparison!! Have you by any chance heard of the Limitless Car Care foam cannon? They claim it shoots more soap using less foam and is priced the same as the MJJC
I got a tool daily upgrade version foam cannon that performs very well, it’s also only 23$, I can post up a video for you if you’d like or I can send you a message of the version I got. It’s got a 1.15mm orifice. It comes with a wide neck, a thick wall bottle that isn’t flimsy, somewhat wide bottom. I’m running on a harbor freight pressure washer.
my foam cannon is a miracele gro fertlizer sprayer that hooks to garden hose. works good for washing camper at campgtound with dollar tree awesome cleaner
Great job Josh... as usual. Wonderful to see these going head-to-head, one on one. Having followed your videos for some time, I need to ask, how come you get greater coverage from a cannon? You seem to get a car covered and still have 1/2 leftover... I'm empty. And your coverage is thicker, or so it looks!
@Brian Hennessy Well, I use the 1.1 mm orifice in my MJJC cannon along with the Ryobi 1900 psi-1.2 gpm unit... seems to use the soap solution fast with some medium coverages. Maybe CA weather is more conducive to auto detailing?
Gday mate, Only just recently started watching your channel. I’m from Australia and really think you should test Bowdens Own products. That are amazing!! I also believe that Bowdens snow cannon would rival the mjjc - possibly give an even better foaming thickness!! Would love to see you compare and review their gear Cheers bro
This is the best budget cannon. AstroAI Foam Cannon, Heavy Duty Car Foam Blaster Wide Neck Adjustable Snow Foam Lance and Thick Foam for Pressure Washer with 1/4" Quick Connector,1.0mm Orifice,1L Bottle,
Hi Josh.....Great video ....as usual !!....The little white tab that is present on the MTM when you remove the barrel should be a sort of stop lock so when you change from horizontal to vertical spray pattern the barrel has a secure resting point. I come to this conclusion because looking at the base of the barrel there are 4 little round indentations that look like they would pair perfectly with that little round tab ! Ha so there ...I may be way off but i cant think of any other use for that ...Tell me if you agree. I actually purchased the Adams premium cannon but have not had a chance to use it yet as its -10 C in toronto canada right now .Just for your info I made that purchase after watching your review on it and was very impressed as i have been using Adams products for a long time and they havent let me down yet.. Also was wondering if you had any pointers on washing a C8 Corvette as it relates to the open vents on the back hatch? Would you recommend any method to keep water from getting to the engine bay ? Thanks again for all the great information you share as it helps people more than you know !!!
What is also advertised as stainless steel might very well not be stainless steel due to it's high cost but brass you can have more assurance that it will not corrode
That little white ball acts as a positive stop when rotating the head from horizontal to vertical. It rests inside the four dimples that are in the plastic. GOod video!
So recently got (2days ago) the Chemical Guy foam cannon and it comes with a 1.1 Orifice already installed. I dont know if they recently updated it, but in the manual it literally says 1.1 If i could show a picture of the manual i would
So my first foam cannon was a chemical guys one, used their products liked them, was stoked to finally use a foam cannon.... used it probably 5-10 times and bamn the threads get cross threaded and now it leaks. Looking for a new one now, definitely wont be buying one that is brass to plastic on the threads. Recently switched from gas pressure washer to Adam's active 2.0 electric washer... Definitely recommend the adams active 2.0 electric pressure washer if anyone is thinking of going electric, its not that exspensive and performs quite well
All about that MJJC filter tho..... ;) I'd be popping that sucker in all of my cannons. Also a few things I'd like to see you try in your tests with the goal eventually being the ultimate Franken-Cannon. 1.Nice basin with a rubberized bottom in a non tip over design. 2. MJJC filter with the little foam part between the two metal filters. 3. Siphon tube sized right to use Griots metering tips for automixing soap.(seriously if you haven't tried this or seen it done it's an effing game changer. Go do yourself a massive favor and check out the video Cars with Keav did on this) 4. Weight on the bottom so you can get soap at any angle. 5. 1.1 orifice. 👆 Recipe for the best foam cannon for an electric pressure washer ever ;) Also as a pro-tip I've learned, if your siphon doesn't have a weight, head down to your local hardware store and buy some stainless steel nuts to throw on the bottom and it'll work out just great to keep that siphon opening at the bottom. My cannon has the small little plastic filter that pops off the siphon hose easily so I just popped it off, slid 3 stainless steel nuts on it so it's corrosion safe, slid the little filter back on and bam this thing is magical. Also consider this day 1 of mentioning the Giraffe Tools Grandfalls wall mount pressure washer every single day until you agree to try it out when you can track one down. I'll even donate $50 towards it.
Hi Josh great video as always wondering if you're going to be in Orlando the next weekend for the mobile tech expo also do you ever plan to do a video on air fresheners
Hmm in your Griots Boss Foam Cannon review video from a few months ago you said you liked the metering tips since as a professional it saves you time. You went as far as saying the Boss may be your new favorite foam cannon and that between the MJJC and the Boss you would choose the Boss specifically for the metering feature. You commented on how it saves you time and it does a great job diluting the product while not using too much of it. You said the extra cost is justified by those 2 reasons alone… but now you are saying you don’t see the benefit of the metering tips? In this video you rank the Boss 3rd as far as foam output and density but in the previous video you said the Boss was just as good as the MJJC in those categories? You also praised its stainless steel construction but now you’re saying it’s not needed? I have a PF22 and no horse in this race. Just thought it was interesting how you’re being extra critical of the Boss, almost like you’re looking for reasons to knock it. Is it possible you are being a little biased towards MJJC since that happens to be the one you’re selling in your store?
Hey man! Thanks for the comment, I do like the boss a lot! I used it a bit more after the initial review video and just didn’t find myself using the metering tips as much as I thought I would. And to be honest since they are so small I easily misplaced the others, which isn’t a big deal since the preferred one I wanted stayed in and didn’t fall out which is great! The stainless is definitely more expensive to source in the foam cannon which is probably why it’s more expensive than others. Atleast at the msrp, I think I’ve seen it on Amazon for less than msrp which makes it a great deal!! I was surprised to see some rust color on the stainless though in this latest crises. I would say the mjjc is my over all favorite though and I do offer them on my site, but I always make sure to include links to the other as well so people can decide on their own. I also like the cheap Amazon basics canon if you switch out the orifice. I try to be as honest as I can and I’m sorry if it comes off any other way. And putting the boss in third was just anecdotal. The mjjc, mtm, and boss all performed amazing and out performed the others. I would have to say the mtm sounds the best when using it
Have you ever used a 1.1mm orifice with a gas powered pressure washer above 2000psi.? Whats the result and would you recommend do so. A video on that would be epic
Thanks for the in depth reviews Josh. Question - can any of the reviewed Foam Cannon attachments be used to apply cleaning solutions for projects like Vinyl Siding or Deck Cleaning? Thank You
I am new to the car detailing business and i really liked this video. So , i am interested in purchasing the MJJC foam cannon but i have a 2000psi electric pressure washer what size orifice would i need to increase the foam if needed
