Nice work showcasing some of our local treats! I was born and raised in the South towns eating WNY food and miss it a lot! Chiavetta's chicken, Weber's horseradish mustard, Heluva Good horseradish, Cheeseburger subs, chicken finger tacos made with wing sauce from the best South towns joint the Now Pizzeria, and so many more!
Omg Webers mustard👍💯 Best in the world 👍 u bring back some memories i remember going to school# 4 on Louisiana & south park and the Webers mustard company right across the street from Morgen linen the warehouse guys would give us bottles of Webers mustard to take home to our parents 👍the good ole days
Most places have large fish fries, with deals if you get them on Fridays. They're a large portion though - depends on where you get them but for the average person, it might be too much to eat at once. The fish, the fries, the slaw/mac salad. It's a lot.
I migrated from Rochester, NY to Buffalo. Even though they are only 60 miles apart there are some culinary differences. Fish frys, pizza are a constant though. One thing you did not mention that is like to bring up is the stinger sub. This in my experience is uniquely Buffalo. Yeah with the chopped cheese phenomenon lately maybe not exclusive as it once was, but it’s a Buffalo staple.
You know what's crazy is that I rarely hear Stinger Subs talked about in my circle but I'll be doing more shows in the future and we'll see if they make the list since you mentioned them. I greatly appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching.

Oh, my gosh! I miss all of these hometown favorites! I now live in Southwest Florida…no donut shop, no Mighty Taco, no good wing restaurants….i am jonzin for Paula’s and Mighty…I asked them along with Tom Horton’s to come down here….nope.

i have also been to the anchor bar in buffalo - i am a california girl but my parents are from buffalo ny i wish los angeles had fish fry's i have a big jar of webers horseradish in my fridge - the subs in l.a. are not very good - but there is an itialian store in santa monica that has the best subs in town - we have a few good pizza places and the best mexican place in town - gilberts el indio - many of my relatiives from buffalo have been there

it is called the bay city's deli on lincoln blvd. they have really good sub's there - i started going there in high school at st. monica's catholic high school - over 50 years ago
Lol. You know I intentionally left it out because personally I'm not a fan of horseradish, and neither is most of my family, but I should have mentioned for sure. Where is your favorite place for Beef on Weck?
The wing sauce was melted butter with salt and tabasco sauce, the 2 mixed together, want real hot,add more tabasco!! Served with celery and carrots, andblue cheese or ranch dip, your choice. 8 wings celery and carrots, dip, $2.95 plus a soft drink$.99 And a dollar tip for the waitress, a fin, $5 total, A $1tip (TO INSURE PROMT SERVICE)!!! thats what tips stands for!! Now u know why u leave her a good one!! 😊

You have to have good wings to survive in Buffalo but some places in my opinion are a bit better. Haven't tried McPartins but love me some Beef on Weck from Barbill and Steve's pig and ox.

Having worked in the food industry (specifically pizza and Italian) in my youth, I was overwhelmed by the decadence of Buffalo style pizza. His cousin said it was average pizza.
Worked with a 4☆ chef from Chicago for a while. He was an amazing cook and taught me lots. I have had most of everything on your list. Shared sponge candy with my nephews 2nd grade class, looking like a Rockstar lol.

That is very True which is something I learned after this, but I will be mentioning Mr. Young in my next one. Anchor Bar gets credit for cutting the wing and serving it the way we eat wings today. Mr. Youngs mumbo sauce was said to be amazing. My son tried the sauce from Mr Youngs daughter at the Broadway Market and he loved it.
Crystal beach - we always called the " french fry beach ", LOL crinkle cuts.! Sorry never cared about candy. Bison onion !!!!! Spaghettis parm - don't care. Fish Fry - only competition is England. But we do cole slaw, tarter sauce and bread ( chips of course ) --- but dam Britain's fish looks good - F*ck them mushy peas. Beef on Weck - Can't go wrong --- need good horse radish. Pizza --- just pizza Wings ---- it's chicken!!!! Screw Anchor bar so many better.
Anchor Bar where it all started so really just for tourists and, yes, many other better places for wings. I disagree with pizza, just pizza. Definitely a different dough and sauce unique to Buffalo. Thanks for checking out the video and the comments. Do you live in Buffalo now?
@NickelCityMafia It's ok, but like i posted, overrated. Compared to other Italian places, the sauce just doesn't have that "dance" effect on your taste buds. But the beauty of foods is one's prize is another's treasure. Before covid, Santasiero's, a small joint on Buffalo's west side, was a hopping place with great sauce. Their eggplant parm was to die for. Their still open, the food is still delicious, but the atmosphere isn't. I really enjoyed your video and will subscribe.

Where you from what are you talking about? I've been all over the country and there is nothing better than Buffalo Pizza. What places have you tried? I mean there are so many good pizza places in Buffalo. What did you not like about it? I mean I hope you didn't go into a 7-11 and grab pizza and judge it based on that..LOL. I have to respectfully disagree with you. What's your favorite pizza place and where is it located?

@@svera6446I am born and raised in Buffalo and have traveled to NYC many times. Compared to the good NYC pizza places no Buffalo is not as good however it’s far from “sucks” and IMO is 2nd in the country only to some NYC places. Buffalo pizza is definitely more consistent than NY pizza. Almost everywhere in Buffalo has good pizza. You have to go to specific places in NYC.
I loved to hear what place in NYC has the best pizza. I'm not a fan of the thin crust but would love to hear what places in NYC, you consider the best.
@@NickelCityMafiawhen I first started going to NYC over 20 years ago my favorite was Lombardi’s on Spring St in Little Italy. Unfortunately during/just before COVID they quietly sold the business and the new owners kept the name hoping the tourists would still go there (which in my case worked). It is now terrible. Be sure not to go. Another favorite of ours was Grimaldi’s on Front Street under the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn. This was so nice because my wife and I would walk from Manhattan over the bridge, eat dinner and catch the subway back to our hotel in Manhattan. Made a great night. Unfortunately there is a story behind Grimaldi’s that you can look up online but in short the owner sold and then ended up opening a new place, Julianna’s, right next door which if you ask the locals is now better. Di Fara in Brooklyn was really good but we only got to go once due to how far it is from the city and the 2nd time we were going to go out they were closed down (I think due to tax issues) and after that we haven’t attempted to go back but this is definitely a favorite among the locals. Patsy’s in Harlem was also amazing. I think the original owner of this place is somehow connected to either Lombardi’s or Grimaldi’s but you have to look it up. Next time out we are going to try John’s on Bleeker street. I’ve heard good things but have not actually had it. We have not been to NYC since COVID so things may have changed. I also would love to hear from some locals about the current pizza scene as I might be visiting during the holiday season or next summer.
I live in Cali now and I've had plenty of Taco Bell to compare and Ill take Mighty Taco in a slight win. The super mighty is so good. I was a double decker supreme fan for the longest time at Tsco Bell, but they took that away. What is your favorite item at Taco Bell?
