Jy 3 Cleats are pretty easy to explain. If you have ankle trouble, automatically get a mid cleat or a low cut cleat with a flexible strap for ankle support. if you play in the trenches, the front 7 on defense and the backfield, you need a mid cut cleat. low cut cleats should only be worn by wide receivers who don't play defense, and cornerbacks. safeties need a dual cleat that gives you support and flexibility. studs or molded should be determined by what surface you are playing on. I played football in the Midwest so I only wore 7 stud cleats due to the wet conditions I expected to be in. however, during summer two a days, I wish I had molded shoes for the hard dry ground. so that is more about surfaces then restricting yourself to one cleat. if you have a trainer, always get your joints taped up. it's best to be supported than hurt, trust me.
I’m super tall for my age and in one game I threw I block, but the kid was so small my pinky got caught in his face mask and he started screaming at me and clawing at my arms.
for HS and above players. Got a question, i'm gonna give some of my measurements and traits and i wanna know what areas i should really focus on improving on this summer! I want to play LB and RB this year. (Base 4-4 Defense so OLB's cover wide a lot) I have a 4.78 40. squat max is 315. Bench max is 195. 104" Broad jump. and I weigh 175 lbs. Obviously I'll be lifting and conditioning this summer to get a lot of those numbers up. But is there anything i should try to isolate and improve? Also if you play RB or LB, any tips or advice would be great. Thanks bros!
Can you do a series on how to read certain defense formations and offense formations? or the objectives of the coverages and their weakness. If you are able to that would be great.
junkyard & blondie I was a lineman, and I would pick a facemask as light as possible if I knew how much protection I really needed. it's not as bad as it seems out there. people aren't looking to poke your eyes out, and if your afraid of that, get an eye shield, it doesn't eliminate sightlines and you get more protection.
Hey, I ordered some ua spotlights and they are tight around my toes. Is this normal and will fix when they are broken in or should I get a half or full size up
Lamar Jackson wears the 2 bar with the eye guard. I’ve started seeing more dual threat QBs wearing those. I play WR/special teams and recent switched to the open 2 bar from an SF 2BD (first green one he showed off), which I also love but wanted to try something a little different
Thanks for Teaming up with green gridiron! My Son and I watch your pod cast All The Time to see what football equipment you give the best rating! Thanks.... because of your rating of the xenith epic. We are going to purchase our 1st helmet!! We could use the $100. We normally get him just a visor. However We want to get the Blackout package also!
Anytime! Please keep doing the great work that your doing! Your Knowledge has helped us a lot. I also purchased those White/Silver Cam Newton cleats after I saw the difference between the other colors. Can't wait to see the New Cam Newton's. I hope that You Rate those this season. I haven't seen them in the stores yet! However Great Job. My Son was LIT that you replied to our message as well. Thanks for that!
I remember when you first got the riddell speedflex helmet in 2013 and you still had it in like a black helmet cover and you were saying how you weren't going to make a video on it lol
Facemasks have changed a lot since I played HS ball 11 years ago. I will tell you that if you get something with more protection than you need, you'll live to regret it. I played Center, Guard and Kicked Field Goals and Kickoffs. if I could do it all over again, I'd do a two bar like Aaron Rodgers or Jordy Nelson wears with a plastic shield to cover my eyes. I never needed all the wire protection I used. I was a chop/roll blocker the last two years due to some leg injuries. You'll have more vision, and you'll enjoy your sightlines s lot more without adjusting your helmet every 5 minutes.
What about the face mask ray lewis wore in super bowl 47,I play line backer and I was planning to get that face mask but old if it fits only certain helmets. I saw one on green gridiron call DNA stg 2.0 I think and I'm planning to get that one but idk if it only fits DNA helmets. If you can answer back plz let me know asap. Thx
When I was a kid, I hated the vertical bars that went from top-down. As long its clear in the middle, and the helmet condition is good, that's all that matters.
For real the extra area for lineman is so useful before I bought my own helmet I had a Ridell speed and the face mask did not even protect my neck I got neck punched every 4 plays
Hey is it bad if I go out wearing a backplate and visor for my first year and can you do a football tip Friday video about how not to look cocky on your first year and or something like that
Can anyone help me? I am a receiver and I am struggling to catch the balls that are over my head because I can't reach my arms high enough with the shoulder pads. If loosen them they almost fall off and if they're too tight I can't reach at all. Any tips or suggestions. Or shoulder pads to buy. I am shoulder width 15 and chest size 32. I appreciate and I love your videos IKF!
Platinum no not really. The Ray Lewis intimidation mask or others like it, Justin Tuck, Darnell Dockett, Tank Johnson etc... are just for show and really hurt the sightlines of the player. I wore something like Urlacher wore, and it was too much. I wish as a lineman, that I wore a facemask with less protection.
They red lineman facemask...do they make one with eye guards as well? I think Robert Mathis wore something like that with eye guards back in the day for a few seasons
Hey brotha thx for everything. I bought my son the shadow X-RAY n got him the card 22sx face mask but everything is tightened but it seems to be loose still where the left n right screw snaps are is that normal?
